One of the Best Cuban sandwiches around, loaded with Pernil. Far better than the Rincon Criollo on Junction, I have to write a review for them. Rice & beans just okay. Flan is a loser. Cafeteria style, find a table and eat or take out. Place is dumpy but in a good sense. Will go again.

I went here on a Wednesday of last week and I must say the food is still the same I chose Wednesday to go because I remember the goat special they have there on that particular day and I love goat. So I got the huge size container and the lady filled the container with two scoops of goat from her giant spoon I use to get 4 scoops I remember I was highly disappointed at how much food they give you now they use to give so much in the past like 2 years ago now the portions are tiny. I would not repeat this experience anytime soon unless they shape up their ways.

A few of my buddies and I ordered food; delivery. Guess what! Our food had flies in it!!! The horror!!! We called the restaurant and the server stated that they will not send the delivery guy back to pick up all the orders nor return our money. Stated that we had to go back ourselves. We sent the food back and got our money. I will never eat from here again. At least freaking apologize, its all about the principle and human compassion; which they have none. I bet if they had extra«meat» in their food from other restaurants, they would flip out. The audacity with which they responded by saying«what the hell you want!!!» after they were informed of the disgusting experience we had was just over the top. I’m done with this place.

I don’t come here often but when I do, I am usually surprised at the home style Spanish cooking quality that comes out of the kitchen. I don’t know whether to give it two stars for being a: —needing renovation — , —semi-hang out spot with drinking booze at night— type restaurant or throw in an extra star because the food is good during mid day hours. The food is nothing amazing unless you like basic food that is pretty good, meaning nothing fancy: you can serve mayo in a condiment dish or you can make it Tartar sauce to up the name. This place is your basic mayo serving«diner». I quoted diner because it’s not really a diner even though it serves a variety of food including diner style foods. The fridge carries many drinks including a cold Corona and Jarritos soda. The décor is blah, almost hole in the wall. Don’t make your way out for this place but if you happen to be hungry when on the 7 train and near Queens Blvd and 33rd street, it is very conveniently off the subway station. Good for a platter of decent Spanish rice, toppings or sides like Mofongo for around $ 10, especially for the college crowd from Laguardia College. A colleague came into work this afternoon with a bag of food smelling like fried chicken, it smelled so good. When I told her she offered me a piece of fried pork, damn that was flavorful and the fried plantains also had very gooood flavor, both seemed deep fried, mmmm, and I mean dark where the meat shrinks a bit from frying and the plantains dark but darn flavorful. If you’re looking for breakfast when around the area, they have a mean greasy grill also that can whip you up a bunch of eggs, bacon and home fries. Try not to get there in the afternoon because that’s when you get the left over scraps. But during lunch hours, yum! Enjoy the Spanish music playing.

Pretty good Spanish diner, always busy. I had some roasted chicken w rice and beans the other day, and the portion was enough to feed 3 adults!!! So I guess the $ 7.00 they charge for it isnt sooo badd… They have daily specials, and I cant wait to try their oxtails. I just wish they served smaller portions.

When I go to a diner, I am in the mood for a cheeseburger and fries. Next time, I will go with one of the daily specials. While my meal was better than McDonald’s, it was not particularly inspiring. I was also a bit disappointed that they did not have ranch dressing or BBQ sauce to dip my fries into. Looking over the menu while I was gnawing on my meal, I was able to pick out a few options from each of the daily specials that seemed to merit a return trip.

Decent caribbean food, not too pricey and usually more than I can eat. A decent selection of beer as well. Highly suggest the cubano sandwich. However, not the best place to grab breakfast. The coffee is near worthless and for some reason the price of bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel w/coffee seemed to fluctuate depending on how much cash I had in my hand. Seriously, spend a few more cents and go to Fresco Deli Café across the street.

I used to work near here and so I ate a lot of lunches at New Thompson’s. Sometimes I would just get their chicken soup, which is thick and hearty. It has so much collagen in it that it turns to jelly in the fridge. Other times I would get one of their daily specials, with beans and rice, or sometimes with rice and beans just to mix it up. They also do an excellent and unique(I think) fried chicken. But the thing about this place that I really miss is their pernil roast pork. Done perfectly every day.
