Did not expect to enjoy this food at ALL, but I needed healthy(ish) takeout fast. To my surprise, this was pretty good. It was nothing special, but it was enjoyable and I’d definitely go back under the same circumstances. I paid a small up-charge for all white meat chicken in my rice bowl which also included perfectly cooked brown rice and freshly steamed veggies. on its own, it does not have very big flavor, and is kind of dry, but a little dose of their«magic sauce» fixed that. The restaurant was immaculate and the staff were friendly — but also efficient. I was in and out of there in no time. I appreciate the fact that the food is being made fresh to order, and that nutritional facts are posted on the wall, so I could be on the move, and be mindful of my macros.

Healthy fare, killer price! Good location, faster than other locations I’ve tried which is great considering how they’re always packed!

Nice quaint location. The staff, with special mention to Maria, were very courteous and friendly. Walked in with a smile, walked out with a smile. And they give really generous portions too!

I’ve never had bad service here and the portions(how much they fill the bowl) is WAY better then at least the 2 other flames I’ve been to around the area. Clean tables… not always that crowded so there’s usually somewhere to sit. A small thing that stands out to me is the sauce dispensers… there is hardly ever a mess. And to me that shows they like to keep a clean environment. Of course this isn’t your top dollar restaurant so you get burnt chicken every now and then but I deal with it… put more sauce

The half and half bowl was pretty good I like the magic sauce. I wish I had more meat than rice.

Been here several times so yeah it’s a pretty decent location. The employees are friendly and nice, the location is smaller than other locations. The best part about this place is that your food usually comes out in less than 3 minutes from when you place your order. You can literally order then stock up on sauces and your order will be bagged up ready to go! The food has always been consistent and I like it a lot! I usually opt for the chicken bowl or half and half bowl with brown rice. It’s not heavy at all and I usually care a lot about the portions any restaurant gives you but sometimes I could barely finish a bowl. And for $ 6 too? That’s not bad for some good quality food.

This is my boyfriends spot, I only come here to pick him up lunch. It’s usually clean and the staff is ready to take your order. The cashier I got today was really nice and accompanied my substitutions without question. The parking lot is kind of tight but overall it’s a good spot. As for the food, I had their chicken and beef bowl with veggies and the beef wasn’t good imo. I rather go to Fuji grill for teriyaki.

Not bad for flame flame boiler. Had the works plate was pretty good. For the price. It’s a good bargain and if you have a coupon it’s even better.

I’ve had better beef and chicken bowls although I do really like the cabbage and veggies you get with the works plate. 3 stars off because of the laziness and rude attitudes of all the employees.

Got a mini beef bowl. It was good and the service was okay. I got my order pretty fast too. Place is small so if they are busy you might not get a seat to dine in.

This would be a 1-star review, except I happen to like this chain’s food and the chicken bowl special with a drink is a good deal. Today, I ordered and paid by credit card(one that I’ve had nearly 25 years). The cashier swiped my card, then handed me back the card, mumbling something. I wasn’t really paying attention and saw that she was looking expectantly at me. «Excuse me?» «The card was declined.» «What?!» «It says the card was declined.» Embarrassing, especially with people behind me. I fished out another card, and it ran fine. Since this was a card I’ve used forever, I was really concerned. Until the guy after me seemed to have a problem. The young woman called out to another employee, who was eating her crew meal. Sounded like operator error on the register. When I got home, I called my credit card company, who assured me that the card was fine, and that they have no record of a transaction attempt. The explanation was either the transaction was not attempted or there must have been a problem with the credit card terminal. Regardless, next time, I’ll drive a few more minutes to go to another Flame Broiler location.

I usually have good experiences at flame broiler… but this place was by far the worst one I’ve ever been to. The girl working the register(Jasmin) impressed me with having absolutely NO personality, and being incredibly rude… like almost to the point I thought she was joking. It could be worse girl, you could be unemployed. Food was alright, but I won’t be back.

The FLAME went out on the BROILER OK I just reviewed this place but a different location. Are you FRIGGINKIDDINGME? Or a better question are you F’in trying to kill me? Really, really! I should not have to leave a second review for a different location because YOUSUCK! Yet another instance where the NEGATIVESTARRATINGISNEEDED! The ONLY reason I went here today for lunch was because I had a good experience yesterday at one by my house and my regular location in Anaheim. I am on a bit of a chicken bowl kick… well I WAS! This is the PROBLEM with FRANCHISES and the MAIN reason I DON’T care for them! While one or two FRANCHISES will go OVERANDBEYOND others will do HALFAZZWORK and skate by on the name factor! «EXHIBIT A» this location! So yesterday at a location near my home I ordered a veggie bowl with chicken. I call it my protein bowl because I don’t get any rice. YESTERDAY at that same location near my home I had no problems, the food was good thus I decided to visit one for lunch today because it is near my job! And here is where the S*ITHIT the fan and got all over the walls! First I go to this location near work. Not the best part of town but I figure its day time and I’m inside my car with a full tank of gas. I order the EXACTSAME veggie bowl with chicken NORICE, same size! Can you explain it to me like I am 4 year old and let me know WHY it cost $ 1.15MORE than the location near my home or the one in Anaheim(both OC locations)? And this was supposed to be on special. The ONLY thing special about it was I got taken advantage of like the other hard working people that frequent this location. EPICFAIL #1 Remember when I stated I ordered NORICE in my bowl. My receipt stated NORICE so one would assume I would get NORICE! Right? WRONG! Please tell me why there was rice in my bowl taking up space where I could have had more veggies and meat! I would think READING is a perquisite when applying for the position because you need to READ what people have ordered so that you can prepare it properly, CORRECT? EPICFAIL #2 And now Pièce de résistance(a French term referring to the best part or feature of something usually a meal) I get back to work, start eating and THEFOODISHORRID, DREADFUL, and BLAND! It could NOT have been worse! It wasn’t HOT(pet peeve número uno) and I had to NUKE it in the microwave. Yes, I drove back to work all of a 5 – 7 minute trip(the way I drive) but for the food to be lukewarm at best no entiendo(I don’t understand). I HATETHAT! I should have been able to take out my chopsticks(from my desk) and commence to chowing down! The ONLY and I do mean ONLY saving grace was they were SUPERDUPERQUICK and the service was ok although I did fell a bit rushed. Maybe because it was lunch time and the place was starting to fill up rather quickly! Maybe had they taken more time with my order they could have gotten it CORRECT and it would have been HOT! I think it is a reasonable request to have HOTFOODBEHOT when you order it! Ii the future I will stick with the my two normal locations and the cheaper price at both rather then come here be ripped off and get HORRIBLEFOOD! NOBUENO! I WILLNOTEVVAAABEBACK!

Good stuff. First time trying it and I was impressed. Nice healthy tasting food and I was in and out the door in less that 5 minutes but the food still tasted fresh. Location nice and clean and the service was good. Looking forward to coming back.

Flame Broiler is clearly meant for people who care about eating healthy over other concerns, like actually tasting like anything. Mostly-tasteless chicken on mostly-tasteless rice, with actively-gross sauce of some kind(I’m not entirely sure what it was) on the side. Yeah, it’s healthier, but… when I need food within walking distance of work, I’m sticking with Subway.

Best Flame broiler I’ve been to. The complex had a power outage. While Subway was busy shoo-ing people away. These guys hustled, took my order by paper so cook could start it, then had systems up and running. Paid and was out in a matter of minutes. Most importantly, food was fresh and sooo tasty.

It’s the first time I have ever been to a flame broiler. It’s menu is small simple and healthy. They don’t hook you up, its a well rationed chain but the special here for $ 5 for a chicken bowl is still a deal would come here, to this location with the special again while you are here fill up at the ARCO across the way cheapest gas in the area. Always the cheapest of the cash only ARCO stations. They also have a pretty decent Iced-T that you can get with your fountain soda. I’ll be back for sure.

The beef bowls here are so good. You can get a beef bowl almost anywhere but Flame Broiler has the best. This is a chain and I am so glad they opened up close to my house about a year ago. The people are friendly, the food gets served up quickly and its delicious. If you go during lunch time parking is limited. I usually roll up to Flame Broiler off hours and have no problem getting in and out very quickly. I really love that secret sauce that they put on the beef bowls. That stuff is the bomb! This Flame Broiler location is on the corner of Long Beach Blvd and Wardlow and is located right next to the 7 – 11 there. The neighborhood is a little sketch and people do hit you up for change pretty much in that whole parking lot.

Again, not sure why people over-rate this place… it is not the only healthy choice in town. My gf likes this place and I beg to differ on that. This place is not even that good. Again, I don’t know why people like this place. $ 6 for tasteless food. My gf likes it, I don’t agree with her take on it. To each their own. «OVER-RATED». Seriously people, you should be ashamed of yourself for having bad taste. Just like another friend Unilocaler on here has written about another Flame Broiler in LB: ” Flame Broiler as the bastardization of Korean BBQ — made accessible for the masses. It’s the Panda Express of Chinese food. « Watered Down for you dumb idiots that can’t handle real KBBQ food. Seriously. Last time going here. Will not come back anytime soon. My money and time will go somewhere else.
