This restaurant is nice and clean. Service is very good and the food is very good. I had a cup of soup that was a good portion and very tasty. Also a very good ground sirloin and well seasoned cabbage. I had apple pie and it was out of this world. My wife had chicken and was very pleased. The only drawback is it’s a bit pricey. A cafeteria charges for each item so it was $ 40.47 for 3 meals that were by no means elaborate. Bottom line. Better than some, not as good as others.

I like Luby’s occasionally as a change up from the usual lunch. The selection is great, the food is fresh and cooked well, and the service is as quick as the line moves along the steam table. Between Luby’s and Franke’s(a Little Rock family owned cafeteria style place), I prefer Luby’s most of the time.

our last night in little rock, i decided to surprise my mom by going to Luby’s cafeteria. she has not been there since my aunt moved out of Texas. my nephew had to have his meal special made. he ordered chicken strips and fries. 10 min wait on that would not be so bad if he were the waitin type. second, i told the guy to give me the cod almondine. he gave me the lemon pepper. guess who don’t like lemons. you got it me. i also order broccoli and Brussels spouts. the Brussels spouts were old or something and tasted burnt. my mom liked her liver and onions. overall it was good and would go back.

My mom and I went to Luby’s last Saturday. Food is good and the service was good as well. The portion was generous for the value. Will definitely return! Much better than Franke’s!

This place is good for a quick bite when you’re pressed for time and don’t feel like fast food. The prices are very reasonable for the portions that are given… sometimes you can even halve your main entrée for a cheaper price! I know I usually don’t finish my food there… Anyhow, despite the stigma of only old people going there and having this place be waaayyyyyy uncool… who cares! What do you get with old people? Nice, respectful servers, huge portions, and roll away chairs :)(Actually, I think they changed out the chairs now that they don’t roll away anymore). Luby’s is quick cafeteria food at a reasonable price. At this point in my life, I can spare quality in exchange for time and money and nice service.
