Luckily, due to the slow service at a restaurant down the street which we abandoned, we ended up here! I had a busy day so it was 2:00 pm and I had not eaten all day. Therefore I was very cranky and expect at least a greeting within 10 minutes upon my arrival! I was also craving Mexican, so it made it easier to leave that place and come over here since it is so close. I had been wanting to try the Razorback burrito anyways! We were already so much happier when we got a great big hello from the friendly girl behind the bar right when we walked in the door! What a concept! Our waiter, Jeff was just as friendly and we liked the casual atmosphere. Our drinks and food were served immediately and it did not disappoint! My lunch date is a fickle one, and even he approved! Don’t give into the hype! This place has my vote for Mexican cuisine in the Heights!

Just excellent. Every item my wife and I had was fantastic, including margaritas. The thing that impressed me the most was the owner there in the middle of the day on new year’s eve spending time checking on and chatting with every table. Not the annoying intrusive kind, but more like a friendly neighborhood restaurant in San Francisco feeling. Fantastic place!

If you want good tacos in little rock, this is the place! My favorites are the Cuban and the Goat cheese and mushroom. Get three tacos and try different ones! The guacamole is some of the best I’ve had in little rock too. I’ve never been disappointed by any of my choices here – the burritos and quesadillas are just as good! The triple dipper is a great way to try all three of their dips. Don’t miss it!

I love everything about this place! My fav margaritas are $ 4 during happy hour(4 – 6 Mon-Fri). They have the best thin home-made chips and salsa. They seem most similar to Chili’s chips and salsa. I know that doesn’t sound like a compliment, but those are my favorite… here at Baja Grill, the salsa just tastes fresher! And then… the tacos. These are better than in Cali! My fav is the Cuban Taco. It tastes fresh and light, yet full of pork! I also love the Honey Chipotle Taco, though this tastes more like a pulled pork sandwich… just the best pulled pork sandwich ever.

Quaint, little Mexican spot. Awesome food and drinks. We had shrimp tacos and a beef quesadilla. Everything was extremely fresh and well made. Friendly staff

Oh. Em. Gee. Are you kidding me? Their Honey Chipotle Burrito is insane. I love it so much that I can’t seem to order anything different. The people I go with seem to love what their eating, but I can’t stray from perfection. Their white cheese dip is also really good!

Just came into town for my spring break with my family. I LOVETHISPLACE. Nothing like I have ever taste in little rock. The tacos are amazing and the owner, Craig even was nice to pay us a visit and said hello. The Cuban taco is so great! Great young & hip place– good price as well. Also my grandma and sister had the shrimp taco and my mom had the mahi mahi! Get the three highlighted tacos, amazing and the queso. Great service and atmosphere! — the Kuykendalls and Wells’

Had a quick lunch at Baja Grill today — good place for a delicious cheese dip/guac/pico fix! Great service.

Not bad, but they don’t have anything that really stood out to me. Their burritos were OK but didn’t deliver enough flavor to justify their $ 10+ price point. Also, very tiny tacos are way too expensive. If you’re going to charge high prices, I think it’s fine as long as you fill a niche, are unique, or deliver in great quality. I don’t think Baja does any of the three. Not a bad meal, but I left dissatisfied and think I can get their normal Mexican items for half the price elsewhere or can go to Taco and Tamale, The Fold, or Chuys for $ 10 – 12 Latin plates.

My husband and I, along with our best friends, have decided to try a new restaurant every Friday night. We picked Baja Grill this past Friday and we each absolutely loved it! I was a bit shocked upon entering and seeing how small it is, but the atmosphere is awesome. Our server, Daniel, was great-especially for a busy Friday night. The mojito I had was good, though I had asked for extra mint and it didn’t taste minty at all. The guacamole was perfect. The owner, Craig, came by and introduced himself and chatted with us for a few minutes. He brought us some of the hot sauce they make in house, and while it was hot, it was tasty! We will be back because we want to try everything. Its going to be hard to try somewhere new next week, I just want to go back to Baja!

Got the Naked Burrito… guess Thursday’s are $ 1 off on those… had the beef… spicy good… surprisingly very cheesy full of cotija cheese. Bad ass sauce on the side makes it even better.

This place has become a regular stop for our family for dinner. They make some of the best tacos in town, without a doubt! I particularly love the blackened mahi and the cuban. There are many different options you can choose, including whether to have tacos, burritos, bowls, or quesadillas. Great place for a romantic getaway with my wife or to bring the family for a nice dinner! The owner has always come by our table whenever we have been there, and the service has been fast and friendly. I highly recommend you get your taco fix at Baja Grill!

I float from office to office, depending on who needs me, so I’ll often blind-date a restaurant local to wherever I am based on a co-worker’s suggestion/recommendation. I was told specifically to go after the Cuban burrito, and told that it would be enough to fill me up. I wasn’t misled at all! Since I was carrying out, I went to the bar to order. The tender was polite and the atmosphere is laid back. A couple of guys at the bar spoke to me, telling me that I’d ordered the right thing. When you get a burrito, it’s huge, and it’s enough to eat, but ALLYOUGET is a burrito. So don’t expect chips and salsa! The pork in the Cuban is tender and spicy, but not hot; it won’t burn your mouth. I would eat there again in a heartbeat, and I’d probably order the same thing! Highest praise, love, and respect.

Was looking for something new and different, aside from the usual big orange, local lime, etc. Was pleasantly surprised, everything was great! Drinks: piña colada. So good! Not super sweet, perfectly refreshing. Food: honey chipotle burritos and our son got chicken burrito. Honey chipotle was very good. All the meats are smoked in house. My 7 yr. literally licked his plate clean! Dessert we had the one with cinnamon ice cream. Excellent as well. Service: great! Not overly attentive or absent. Just right. Met the owner, i think his name was Chris, super cool guy! Went on a tuesday. It was perfectly busy. Overall: will definitely be back! So glad we stepped outside our usual go-to’s and tried something new!

Just ate here for the 3rd time and the food was great as usual! Especially love the cheese dip and chips, yum! The service was not good, and that is straight down from the top. This is not a kid friendly restaurant at all which is not a good idea if you are going to have a successful restaurant in the Heights. We had to ask several times for things(forks, straws, water) After waiting for the check for over 10 mins, our kids went up to the front door to wait and the younger one was touching the toothpick dispenser and being louder than the owner/manager desired. The owner/manager came to our table and said, «I cannot babysit your kids. Please get them under control.» Seriously?! There is a much better way to handle this with customers. We were waiting for the check! This is not the first time the servers there have lacked common courtesy people skills.

I just tried this place and the food was great. I had the Mahi Mahi fish taco and Cuban taco. I saw some people post that the service was bad. This is not my experience. My server asked if I had been there before when I saw no. She took the time to explain the menu in detail.

My friend took me here during my visit. Fine Mexi-Cali Cuisine. Never heard of Mexi-Cali before until now. Maybe it’s means more avocado in their dishes since Cali loves their avocados! Just a wild guess. Their menu is simple — tacos($ 4-$ 5), burritos($ 8-$ 10), and quesadillas(~$ 10). I got the Slow-smoked shredded beef topped with Baja sauce, pico de gallo, and fresco cheese. $ 4 each?! Eek. Even«street tacos» are $ 2 each max. $ 4 – 5 for a small taco is a bit steep. My friend got the Cuban burrito for $ 9.50: pulled pork, rice, avocado. Not sure about the other ingredients. It was pretty tasty though. A side of rice(size of a small soup cup) is $ 1.50 extra. Small, intimate place in a nice part of town. Decent service. Good food, but too pricey for what you get. I think the«fine» part is the hint for such steep prices.

How many stars do you give a restaurant with great food but horrible service? I’ve been here 3 times. Each time, I’ve really liked the food. I especially like the shrimp quesadilla. It has fresh cabbage in it and is really Mexi-Cali perfect. I also really like the queso with a scoop of guac in the middle. How come I never thought of that? The third time I came was with a party of 5 including my elderly grandmother. We had the most difficult time being seated due to all the tables accommodate 4(except 1 which I think seats 8 and they wouldn’t seat us there since we were only 5). There were over a dozen empty tables in the restaurant but we stood around and waited 25 minutes so they could seat us at the ONE table that can accommodate 5… they had seated a party of two there and we had to wait for them to finish. If you are sticking by fire codes that stringently, don’t put a party of 2 at the one table that is «allowed» to pull a chair up to make a 5 top. The whole time the waitress was exceptionally rude and huffy when i was insistent that my elderly grandmother with her rollator walker needed to be able to sit down and wasn’t «cool» enough to stand at the bar and hang out for 25 minutes. She continued to be rude, short, curt, and roll her eyes throughout our meal. I’m sorry. I had no idea that this restaurant was so snobbish that they can’t meat the needs of a little old lady. We were there on a Tuesday at 5… a totally appropriate time for a granny to be dining. Like I said, I really liked the food but gosh, maybe I’m not cool enough for the snobs at this place. To add insult to injury, when we were leaving, guess who was seated at that 8 top? A party of 5!

Baja Grill was delicious! Although, I honestly didn’t expect any different, as I had heard and read many wonderful reviews(even when they were only a food truck.) Although quite pricey, the Triple Dipper appetizer is very tasty. It includes white cheese dip, salsa, and guacamole. All were fresh and flavorful, as well as a little different than the norm. For entrees, most of the family tried Cuban Tacos(slow-smoked shredded pork topped with house-made chipotle aioli, red cabbage-jicama slaw, avocado slices, and fresco cheese.) My husband also tried a more traditional Baja Pork Taco(slow-smoked shredded pork topped with salsa verde, onions, cilantro, and fresco cheese.) The Cuban Taco was the clear winner, with an unique and delicious combination of ingredients. They also have plenty of other options, many of which I plan to try in the near future.

Great California-style tacos, but on the slightly pricy side. I went on the first day of business and there were a lot of kinks(waited about an hour, maybe slightly less than that, for two tacos). Definitely try the cuban tacos. The tacos are slightly larger than the tacos you will find from places like Santo Coyote or Local Lime in Little Rock. I will have to try again in a week or so to see if the kinks are worked out but overall, friendly customer service. Full bar expected to be operational July 1, 2014 due to liquor license.
