Very happy with this spot. $ 3 house margaritas… need I say more? Salsas were great… three kinds, a salsa Verde, a warm and sweet salsa, and a traditional cold salsa. All three seem to be home made, so that was awesome. I had a chopped beef burrito plate: red mole sauce was sweet and spicy, meat was tender and the rice and beans seemed pretty authentic: not canned tasting like a lot of Mexican restaurants. Everything was priced low. We had two entrees and a margarita and the bill was $ 22. Fast service, fresh and authentic food, low prices. We’ll definitely be back.

This is one of my regular Mexican spots in town, I find myself here all the time for any meal of the day, and I wouldn’t have it any other way :) Excellent service, very nice diner-esque space — but spacious and with a fun décor and cultural vibe to it. Their sweet tea is sweet, their hot meals are hot, and their beers are massive! Where they really shine though, is in the variety of menu options. They have everything you would expect from a Mexican place, and a whole other half a menu of things you wouldn’t even know to look for. Not to mention, several of my friends have learned«off-menu» special dishes that the chefs like to make, and order them every time. I’ve been particularly impressed with the portions and prices as well, you get a good amount of bang for your buck here. My one and only quibble is the refried beans tend to be a little bland, but the grilled chicken fajitas more than make up for it! Definitely worth checking out! But, be careful, it’s easy to miss the spot when you’re driving by, and Cantrell is a busy road. Luckily, there’s a small parking lot on either side of La Hacienda.

Some of the best salsa(and most varied options) I’ve had anywhere, but easily the best in Little Rock. They have a sweet, tangy salsa that is very thin. A thicker, more standard pico-style, a really smooth, sweet green chile salsa, and a super spicy habanero. Of course, the best way to taste them is to mix the super spicy in with the others :-) but you can go and enjoy their chips while splitting an entrée because you’ll be pretty full. As for the entrees, if you go for lunch they have lots of specialties between $ 6.50 and $ 9 like your typical combination plates of enchiladas, tacos, burritos, etc. As well as higher quality fajitas($ 8), Carne asada several different ways(spicy, mild, cheese covered) for $ 9, and chicken and shrimp options too. Overall, a really good value lunch spot not too far from downtown. It’s not super authentic, but it’s decent quality, filling, and comes with great chips and salsas!

This is hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant in little rock. The 3 different kinds of salsas are all very different – my favorite is the slightly sweet, spicy verde. Their best dishes are not traditional tacos but the specials of the house. Try them all! My favorites are the shrimp dishes – especially with chorizo. Don’t go here for enchiladas and chimichangas. Get the specials and you won’t be disappointed.

I come here fairly often since its right next to my place. The service is always super fast and friendly. The wait staff don’t linger by your table but also don’t just run by. The sweet tea here is pretty good as well. The food is really good as well. I usually the el companllaro.(I @ know that’s not spelled correctly). It usually takes around 5 to 10 mins to make and is amazingly delicious. 5 stars

This is the best Mexican food in Little Rock. The Alvarez family brings authentic, fresh food that doesn’t pander to the typical ArkMex expectations of bland, predictable Mexican food. The salsas are unique and made daily, the service is fast, and the prices very reasonable. Don’t cheat yourself by missing out on this gem.

Great service, good prices. Food only so-so. Upon entering the restaurant, it smelled so good. Might just be what we ordered but but I found the food tasteless. I ordered the beef taquitos and although they were probably packed with more meat than any I have had, they really had no flavor. My husband ordered a beef burrito which was buried in some creamy cheese sauce. He would have much preferred the red sauce but wasn’t offered the choice. Our son-in-law ordered the tamales and was asked if he would like the cheesy sauce or the red sauce. I think the others in our family were satisfied with their choices but for the two of us were were disappointed. Prices are very reasonable and again service was great.

Today was probably my 10th or so visit to La Hacienda and there is a reason, it’s pretty good. I’ve yet to have anything that did not like, everything is pretty good. Today I had the Carne asada with chorizo. It come with your choice of tortillas and rice and beans with guacamole. I have gotten this predominately during my visits. It’s quite tasty. The rice is exceptionally mild and the beans are terrific. My lunch companion had the fajitas and she thought they were excellent. We also had a cheese dip it’s pretty good too, if a little thin. I like this place and it’s something of a «go to» for my Mexican lunch food needs. The service is excellent and quite attentive. Give it a try, I believe you will like it too.

Great solid mexican food! Used to come here once every few months when I lived in another part of town, but now living downtown this has become our favorite mexican restaurant in this area of town. But what really makes this 5 stars instead of 4 is the friendly and attentive staff.

Went and ate here last night while staying in Little Rock for the weekend. I’m from Texas originally and I crave/miss Mexican food on a regular basis, so we decided to give this place a try. Chips and salsa were good except there was one I wasn’t particularly fond of, but that’s just me. The queso was very good and I recommend trying it if you stop in. We had the combination fajitas(steak/shrimp) and the chicken quesadillas and the proportions were good and the taste was just fine. The service was very attentive as well. This place was packed and the experience was like most other popular Mexican food places I have been to. Give it a try if you’re in the area.

I adore this restaurant! My fave Mexican food. Casual, clean, great service, busy, loud, fast, consistent and great food, love takeout service, and prices are awesome! The lunch specials are well-priced, and you won’t be late getting back to work. The specialty items are amazing; I highly recommend the Steak Milanese but everything I’ve had has been awesome except for the shrimp quesadillas(the shrimp was the pre-cooked type and tasted fishy). When you walk in, it seems like every other Mexican restaurant, but the three types of salsa(ohmygod, the warm one is yum to the third power), the refried beans, and the way that the green peppers are blanched(turning my most hated food into one of my most liked here) all make this restaurant a knife cut above the rest! Stop in or grab takeout and you won’t be disappointed — the Fajitas and shredded chicken taco salad are my two go-to menu items.

Let’s just say we eat here every week… I have tried to stay away, but no matter how healthy I am trying to be or how broke I am… I cannot stay away. I like their Carne Asada, Chimichanga, fish tacos, and brochetas. Actually I have never had a bad meal here. My favorite salsa is their salsa verde. We often get the salsa and chips to bring to parties. We usually go there on Wednesday or Thursday nights because they have a killer margarita deal. Margaritas are 3.50.

We love La Hacienda food! They cook the best refrito beans and rice in town! We also go for the tortas, taquitos and chalupas. My children loves the orange fruit punch and my husband love their salsas. Besides they have an excellent service!

Good food(I liked my carne asada de la michoacana and the Camarones al mojo de ajo was awesome), cheap margaritas, wonderful service, but dull ambiance. I will definitely be back.

Approximately eight years ago La Hacienda introduce me to Mexican food, I loved the food then and I still do. I love that they have vegetarian options— try their vegetarian Chimichanga! Their salsa w/chips is the best— try the green spicy salsa! Lastly hands down they have the best Piña-calada’s I have had anywhere.

We were in Hot Springs on vacation, and Unilocal pointed La Hacienda out as the best Mexican in the area. The building is a frightening bright pink outside, but the food was reasonably priced, and actually better than the our favorite home-town Mexican restaurant. We were really impressed with the freshness of the food, and the service was much more attentive than some older reviews suggested.

I am writing this review as a visiting native of Indiana, so I cannot claim to be an expert on Mexican cuisine. I started my evening with a large margarita and cheese dip. The cheese dip was standard, but definitely hit the spot. The margarita was exceptional. Whereas most places serve a drink that tastes almost exclusively of the mix, this struck a nice balance between the mix and tequila. Three styles of salsa were offered complimentarily: one mild, one warm salsa that I did not try, and one green salsa with a bit more of a kick. I appreciated the selection and approved of those I did try. At this point I was pretty excited about what was to come. I ordered the chile rellano* with two standard beef tacos on the side. The chile rellano was fried with the enthusiasm of a parking lot ticket collector and had a single portion of cheese atop it. I’m not sure if I am exposing a trade secret here, but the cheese appeared to be a partially melted slice of velveeta**. I did not put much thought into the initial appearance of the dish because I was distracted by the gourmet plating. The chile rellano was accompanied by a tomato slice nestled into a small bed of shredded lettuce. This might be classified as a bonus topping in some locations with alternate standards, but leaving it as decoration felt like right choice to me. After the first few mediocre bites I hit the seed deposit. Maybe I am naïve to some new age culinary methods, but I didn’t appreciate the seeds. My journey at la hacienda climaxed with the discovery of a hair. Now this isn’t an unheard of occurrence and I’m sure it would have been an single instance in this meal, but I decided the chile rellano had it’s time. Now for the beef tacos… They tasted bland and the beef appeared to be some form of pulled pork. Overall the positives included prompt service, well-balanced margaritas, and a tasty trio of complimentary salsas. I feel that two stars are justified based on my experience. If you are hungry for something other than a chile rellano and are feeling adventurous, give la hacienda a shot. However, if a chile rellano is what you are looking for, you might try having your blind friend cook you a homemade one instead. Or maybe a crunch wrap supreme from your local Taco Bell. *See profile picture for image of chile rellano and plating **maybe generic brand similar to velveeta

Okay. I grew up in Texas and have been eating tex-mex and mexican food my entire life. I love it. That said, these are the BEST refried beans ever. There must be drugs or something in them ’cause I just can’t get enough of ‘em. I always get the Carne Asada(Hacienda style) cause it’s perfect. Only weird thing was my wife’s cheese enchiladas had a mole sauce on them. They said it was their ‘sweet’ sauce. Anyway they were cool and traded them out for some with a cheese sauce. Good white cheese dip also. YUMMMMM Just go and get the Carne Asada w/rice and beans and a margarita. Thank me later.

Husband and I both had delicious dinners here on Friday night. The food is excellent. The décor is less than romantic, but if you’re beyond the courting phase you’ll do just fine. The only thing that gagged my eyeballs was the«Pro-Life» bumper sticker on their one and only cash register. I couldn’t believe my pro-choice eyes! I went to inspect it more closely and saw several postcards of the Pope tacked up on the wall. Hmm… But the food is great!
