Lupita’s Original Mexican Food

Deeeeeeelicious. It’s one of the best Mexican restaurants I have found. The food has great flavor. I went to Senior Tequila last week and this is sooo much better.

One of my favorite hangouts but I never got around to reviewing this restaurant. It is exactly what you want from a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant. Starting with a perfectly spicy salsa with avocado and cheese sauce that they serve for free down to their low prices high quality food.

Being from Arizona, I regularly miss my street side taco stands and walk up taco Windows that flood the market in Tucson where street style Mexican food is rampant. This place is pretty darn close with its comfy sit in atmosphere, good location, excellent service and a habanero salsa I would buy in tubs. We have decided that when yearning for our street style tacos, toritos (bacon wrapped jalapenos stuffed with Mexican fresh queso) and micheladas-​try one-​, this is our go to location. They provide cheese dip to feed the native arkansas need for over processed liquid cheese, and yet it’s still pretty good (we mixed with salsa). The only thing missing now is a sonoran Mexican style hot dog and a glass bottle coke (they have those too). Ps they cater

Honestly, we must have tried them out on a bad day. I do not know why this place has a high rating.
My husband and I were looking for something new when I ran across this restaurant. I thought got I had found a hidden gem. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
This is an incredibly low-​key place. It is located in a strip mall and had minimal decoration. We were the only people in the restaurant when we arrived. By the time we left, one other couple had come in.
I ordered some tacos. I am a huge fan of street tacos and was so excited to try them out. I couldn’t finish them. The meat was unseasoned, the pick was flavorless, nothing was good about it. I didn’t finish them. I have had tacos across the US… these didn’t even compete with the tacos I had in the northern US (and they do no not do Mexican well above the mason Dixon line).
You do get free cheese dip with your meal. But it’s basically nacho sauce so don’t get excited. The chips were decent.
My husband ordered nachos and a tostilla. His was always no Bueno.
If you order iced tea, be aware, it is fake bottled tea.
The positive is this — the service was fast and friendly. But please don’t waste your time here. If you do, hopefully I did just come in on a bad day. Maybe their chef had quit and they were improvising in his absence. Otherwise, I honestly have no idea why this restaurant has the reviews it has.

The best tacos outside of Mexico and California! I tried this place last night, and it was amazing. I plan on going back today. They paid particular attention to my mom’s shellfish allergy, and didn’t contaminate her food. We will be back. The service was fast, and they were courteous.

Some of the best Mexican food in little rock. Prices are extremely good and they give you free cheese dip. That’s right free cheese dip with your salsa. Amazing right. The margaritas are also amazing. Definitely better than margaritas from most of the other Mexican places around town. The staff is also super nice and helpful.

Great taqueria fare with standards like fajitas & seafood plates mixed in. Try the margaritas, jalapeño if you like a little spice in your life. The chipotle salsa is a gem & you can get it to take home.

Love the food and Ms. Lupita and staff! Lots of good times here enjoying happy hour!

My first time there was last night. The salsa is great., spicy. Comes with a side of cheese dip which is ok. The tacos were off the chart. Will be back for sure.

Definitely not «authentic» Mexican, the queso was plain nacho cheese dip. The rest of the food was okay, but the service was terrible. We were the only table in the restaurant yet it took a long time for our food to come out and then even longer to get the check and pay. There are much better/​cheaper Mexican places in town, I wouldn’t recommend Lupita’s.

This Mexican food is phenomenal. Authentic and delicious. Friendly people and really homey atmosphere. Check it out

If you are looking for REAL Mexican food. the kind where the cilantro is chopped in the back, the lime is hand squeezed for your lemonade and where the «chips» are freshly fried in the kitchen… look no further!
This mom+pop (and daughter) place has yet to be polluted by the mainstream tex-​mex style of «mexican» food seen all over.
Simply order the tacos al pastor and feel transported into the heart of Mexico City with every savory, marinated bite!
If you want everything to be accompanied with refried beans and disgusting melted cheese. keep driving!
Just to get you started:
2 a-​la-​carte tacos al pastor, lemonade (lime), 2 beef tacos– all with their corn tortillas (best I’ve had north of the border)! Try the «alambre» beef– with sautéed veggies and sweet onions.
Some people say the free yellow cheese dip with the free freshly made chips and free salsas is not that great. True. Yellow cheese is not great, but I challenge you to have all that free elsewhere, where they CHARGE you for chips and salsa. If you want REALLY good dipping cheese, for a charge they make fresh WHITE cheese that they prepare for you to order.
Tip them well, the place is simple, the service is personal, and the owners are your hosts, the recipes are epic and the food will make you come back every single week!

Lots and lots of good food here! I’ve had just about everything on the menu and usually have a hard time deciding what to order because it’s all delicious so I’ll just mention a few dishes that I eat more often than others. Chicken quesadillas loaded, Charizo & fish tacos, hot wings, fried catfish, and grilled blackened tilapia with grilled shrimp and sautéed veggies!

I love this place. I’ve been twice, with another friend and with a large group. Both times the food and service were great. Authentic Mexican with the hottest salsa I’ve ever had in LR.
Cheese dip is something to avoid unless you like the yellow stuff out of a can. My fried says they do a white version that is decent.
Beers are cheap and served in big frozen goblets. Margaritas good too. I’ve had the chimi’s, tacos and fajitas. All were great.
Prices are very reasonable. Try it out. You’ll get to meet Lupita and perhaps her whole family. They’re nice folks.
