They just removed the calories information on the menu. Why would they do that? A serious step backwards. What happened to more information and transparency? This is not a very progressive move on behalf of the management. What are they afraid of telling us, I wonder. We’re not going back to a Mimi’s until they put this back.

I saw this coming when they changed ownership and their menu. We moved to Lincoln in 2008 and used to eat here on a regular basis. We were also frequent take out customers. Some months back I noticed the menu had markedly changed. Many of our favorite items had been left off the menu. I also noted there was no cheesecake on the menu. I inquired as to the change and informed the ownership of Mimi’s had changed. I remarked we probably not be customers any more. The menu was not appealing and this ownership didn’t seem to care about its appeal to long term customers. I hate to say I was correct, but I was. I will bet they will go the way of Thursday’s, etc.

This restaurant has closed its doors for good. The sign on top of the building has already removed and front door has been boarded up. I’m not sure if I should be happy or sad…

Mimi’s is closing Monday May 26th2014. This is the Lincoln, CA location only. We were there last night and the staff and manager informed us. Its so sad to see another local restaurant go. The managers and staff have been so nice and are like family to many folks in Lincoln. Thank you for all your great service!!! Many of us will miss Mimis.

Fake French cuisine. As about French tasting food as Olive Garden is Italian tasting food. Ersatz French décor on the walls. Not necessarily bad food, it’s a cut above: Denny’s Carrows, or a Black bear diner. Just corporate tasting — Boring. Does serve alcohol. Uniformed servers aim to please. Prices: 2 people can eat to fullness without booze for under $ 40.

I enjoy coming here from time to time for the half off wine bottles on Weds but today was different. I called in to pick up a salad for my friend who just had a baby and brought her home today. I asked for them to put all of the toppings in separate containers so they would not get soggy(as a new mommy who knows when she would have time to eat). To my surprise when I arrived the waitress had labeled each separate container with what was inside. She had really gone above and beyond what she needed to do. I was very impressed.

They’ve revamped their menu! Oooh la la! It’s been awhile since we’ve been here and we were pleasantly surprised to see that they’ve added French inspired menu items along with their comfort food favorites. In the past we’ve had the meatloaf, turkey, and pot roast dinners. They still have those items, they just added a little French flare. We ordered the French dip, bouillabaisse, and tournedos du boeuf. Everything we ordered was better than what you would expect at a chain restaurant. I think the tournedos du boeuf, was the best of our entrees. It was two tenderloins in a bearnaise sauce with mashed potato and sautéed Brussel sprouts. The French dip and bouillabaisse was good but not spectacular. Overall, the new French items are a nice addition, and Mimi’s makes it affordable for the average person to get a sample of their version of French dishes. Merci’ Mimi!

I received a $ 10 off mailing to test the new«chef-inspired menu» and decided to give it a whirl. The new menu is significant different from the original«comfort-café» style and not for the better. All I really wanted was a basic steak and potato meal but anything close is totally non-existent on the menu. Everything now is more«cuisine» by which I mean liberal use of other language names while basic staple meals are absent. I decided on a French dip which had a way more complicated name on the menu. It was just okay. There wasn’t anything wrong with it but definitely nothing to draw me back. Hopefully they return the menu back to basics. This particular Mimi’s has a habit of seating me at the pariah table. I usually go there by myself as my wife lives out of town for work. The first table I was offered today was a chair table directly in front of the dining room entrance while there were plenty of open booths in the same section. When I requested a booth I was offered the single seat booth in the corner facing the waitress station in the other dining room. Previous experiences here have meant someone’s walker or other mobility device intruded on my space. I accepted it only because I didn’t feel like walking around to find the next best thing. The one highlight of this trip was my waitress Sarah. She’s waited on me before and consistently does an excellent job of balancing service with time to eat, drink etc. She’s a credit to the establishment but I think she would do equally well anywhere. I don’t know if I’ll go back anytime soon. This Mimi’s was my spot to jump in, get a decent lunch and move on with my day. The menu isn’t really Americana anymore and walking in there alone puts me at the bottom of the table selections. There are way too many other local restaurant choices for me to continue supporting this place.

It has been a long time since I have eaten at a Mimi’s…my biggest issue with them is the fact that there is not one thing on that menu that woo’s me back! If someone wants to go there I will find something, but I am never compelled to offer this up as an option when trying to figure out where to grab a meal out! Unfortunately, today’s experience didn’t help Mimi’s cause at all! I had a spinach salad, and of course… Mimi’s always wants to dole out a muffin with all of their meals! I have always been able to in the past swap the muffin out for a side of fresh fruit. Today, I was told that unless I had some sort of a food allergy, I wouldn’t be able to do that! I said I am willing to pay a little extra for the substitution. My server said that wasn’t an option. Suddenly, I felt as if I were going to be held hostage by a freakin muffin! He said, if you have an allergy we can exchange it. Catching his inferred wink… I said sure… I have an allergy to sugar and fat… does that qualify? He said sure thing… no problem on the substitution. As much as I «appreciated» my server trying to «help» me in my endeavor for a healthier side option, I was frustrated that I had to lie about an allergy for them to accommodate my request. It really seemed like an easy fix, they offer the fruit side swap out during breakfast… what’s the big deal? Mimi’s…may I suggest that you try and be more customer service oriented. Being that I work in a customer service position, and the fact that I am always trying to go the extra mile to make my customers happy, I was disappointed that you don’t do the same for your customers! Like I said in the beginning of this review… it had been a long time since I had gone to a Mimi’s…and today’s ordeal cemented the door shut for any further opportunities for you to make things right! Adiós Mimi’s…you are scratched off my restaurant list FOR E VER!!!

Occasion 1: My coworkers and I called in an order for take out. I got a 5 way grilled cheese and one of my coworkers got a regular grilled cheese. The bread was totally stale! Took a few bites and threw them away! And the fries were overcooked/old. We only had a 30 min break and didn’t have time to go back or get something else. Very disappointing. Occasion 2: My mom took me here for breakfast. We sat for over 10 mins before someone came to take our order. My mom got ham and eggs with toast and i got the french toast plate. Food was decent, but the waitress didn’t bring any jelly for my moms toast. We waited and waited for a waiter/waitress to come to our table or even just walk by so we could flag them down, no one was to be found for over 15 mins. We had to get up and track someone down just to get some jelly and by then the toast was cold. Other than taking our order and bringing our food, no one came to our table to see if we needed anything or how our food was. Someone brought the check without saying a word and that was that. After the last two times, I will probably never be back. Mimis food and service used to be a lot better.

First off break it down right here: 1.Host 5stars 2.Busser 5 stars 3.Waiter 5 stars 4.My food 3.5−4 stars 5.My wife’s food 0 stars, yes zero stars Our Server was Brent. He was prompt, courteous, honest, and polite. Per his recommendation I ordered the French Onion Soup, Salmon Flourintine, and the Apple Cinnamon Cheese Cake for desert with iced tea to drink. Swapping the desert in the 3 course special was $ 2.00 extra incase you care. –The French Onion Soup was good to start, once the top layer was gone it did become a bit salty for my taste, no biggie, it was ¾ consumed. –The Salmon Florintine was good. Leave it at that. My wife on the other hand ordered the Chicken Madeira Crepes. For the first time EVER she sent her dish back. Not only that, she did not want to even try another dish. «Terrible», she said. First she thought it was just the sauce, She sraped every bit off and tried again. She literally DRYHEAVED! I have NEVER seen my wife dry heave! Ever. I asked her to describe the dish: «Disqusting. The sauce tasted sour. The center of the crêpe after scrapping off all the sauce, tasted like pickle artichokes. Just Gross.» I have to mention that my wifes favorite dish is Chicken Madeira. This being at another restaraunt, still of some relivence I believe. Brent was great and removed the entrée from our check and apologized profusely. She had not eaten much of it. We still tipped $ 10.00 on the $ 30.00 check as it was not his fault at all. So I think we are going to stick with just breakfast at Mimi’s for now. Oh ya, Apple Cinnamon Cheesecake. Yum! Apple Pie and Cheese Cake come together in pure deliciousness. You have to try it! OMG! ***************************All together 2.5−3 Stars this visit.*****************************

Walked in, and was not welcomed until about 2 min later. The waitress seated us with 2 menus! For starters, way too many dishes that had a sort of french influence however their food is all over the place. It is hard to imagine that the cook can cook all of these menu items great every time. It just seems over the top for a place like this. The food was alright, not the greatest. I ended up ordering a sandwich. The actual service after we were seated was good.

Like another reviewer mentioned, go to this Mimi’s Café in Lincoln instead of the Roseville one. The food quality and service is much better than the Roseville one. I think it’s largely due to the fact that they don’t get as busy as the Roseville one, so the cooks and waitstaff actually care who you are. Their pot roast is to die for!

SKIPTHEROSEVILLESTORE — EATHEREINSTEAD After my bad experience at the Roseville store, I was deliberating about ever returning to a Mimi’s. Our waitress, Christina, was awesome. The food came out promptly and was really good. Thank you very much. Note to the Manager: Christina was the best Mimi’s waitress we have ever had.

Been here about three times since my last review. Depending on the wait person one gets the bread basket can contain anything from three pieces of bread to six pieces. Though the food has always been persistent the service is not. For the past three times we were here our water was never refilled even though other tables around us have been. Its not like we are hiding our glasses either, they are placed near the edge of the table when getting low on the H2O. Prices are reasonable and the ambience is nice too.

Just about every time I’m home, my friend A and I head here for breakfast or lunch. I’ve never been disappointed. Doesn’t totally blow my skirt up, but the service is friendly, the food is edible and even very good at times.

We’ve visited Mimi’s Café several times and on all occasions, it’s Ok! During our visit last week, as we observed staff, it appears this location maybe understaffed. Waitress’ were constantly running & rushed not engaging talk with customers which we believe can make or break a restaurant. Smiling and greeting clientele means alot. We were surprised to see a generous nutrition guide for all meals which most restaurants fail to have on hand or can find(even though it’s required). Having a guide was a plus and much appreciated when trying to choose healthy entrees. The well-groomed exterior and landscaping was inviting and the interior it’s self was clean and maintained. Our two meals were tasty — no complaints on the food.

The portions at this Mimi’s seem to be a bit smaller than the other ones I’ve dined at. We get coupons in the mail for this place on a monthly basis, so with the coupon, it’s super cheap. The clientele is pretty much the over 55 crowd. Service is great and fast. Two minutes from our house, so it’s a great option to go get drunk here with the Sun City crowd and walk home happy. Unfortunately, this restaurant is probably not as busy as they need to be, to be profitable, so I’m waiting for them to shutter up like their neighbor Chili’s did.

We’ve been here twice in the last month and both times we got 1– Terrific service, 2– Terrific food and 3– a fair bill. They have this«Just Enough Three-Course Meal» which is pretty cool. You can pick an appetizer, entrée, and dessert all for 12.99. It’s supposed to be smaller portions but there was so much food! My bf and I both ended up taking home ¼ of our entrée and all of the dessert. The breads they serve after you order are ~SUPER~ good. I usually eat too much of them. I’m typically not a fan of chain places like this, but it’s really a great, semi-quiet, family-friendly place.
