The sandwiches here are just fantastic! So many options and all of them are great! It’s a fun restaurant that is unique to Lincoln with great food and wonderful, friendly service. It’s always fun to stop in for a delicious lunch and walk around downtown Lincoln.

This was my second visit here and I must say when it comes to the taste of the food, don’t let the name fool you. The food is very very good. Unfortunately the name perfectly describes the service. Let me say this is based on two visits here. I’m sure if we actually became regulars(they definitely cater to the regulars), everything would be great. From items not coming out that were ordered to one visit for a refill, it was less than stellar, nay I say it was awful. Now please do not take my review to heart when deciding to eat here. The food is worth the lack in service. If I was rating this based on the food only it would be a 5 stars. This won’t be the last time we return. The food is too good but I will just set my standards and expectations low enough to not be disappointed.

I’ve loved Annie’s for years and have a serious love affair with the bread pudding! I super miss the banana delight(hint hint Annie’s!) today I went to the one in auburn and food was as good as I remembered I had what I feel like is a new item, the monte cristo French toast… holy cow I was not disappointed it was soooo GOOD! And too a bread pudding to go. Here is why it’s not a five star… it wasn’t super busy and out service was sub par. Then I had ask for just a little side of jelly to go with my pudding and they gave me a small cup full and charged me 6.50. Not worth it and I didn’t notice till I got home. Was very disappointed as I intended just a small amount, wish they would have double check with me… anyways food was super good just be clear with your server and I hope you get better service than we received!

The kids love this place. The girls on the staff know my kids by name — that carries weight and says a lot about ownership as the apple never falls far from the tree and the food does the trick as well!

5 stars doesn’t even cover it. I have been looking for a breakfast, brunch, and lunch place for years that is worth going to and I hit the holy grail when I came to awful Annie’s. Not only was their customer service top not their food was delicious and came out in a timely manner. To top it all off they have the best bloody Marie’s money can buy and they market their own Bloody Mary mix that is to die for. I would give them 20 stars if the option was here.

They never cease to amaze me! I have been coming here for years and absolutely live the benedicts with the delicious hollandaise sauce. Yesterday, after a lovely/long hike, we ended up at our go to spot for brunch and discovered new deliciousness on the menu. I had no choice but to try the parmesean crusted bacon grilled cheese eggs Benedict! Holy amazing! I could barely finish half, but it was the best Benedict I have ever had! Definitely not for anybody watching their figure, but I earned it after the hike! The service is always amazing, the food is the best around, and the patio is dog friendly!

I was visiting my parents in Lincoln and suggested breakfast at Awful Annie’s. I had been to the one in Auburn before and thought it would be fun to try the Lincoln location. The Tuesday mid-morning crowd was light and the three of us were seated immediately. The three employees we came in contact with were very friendly and attentive. I had the bacon, avocado and tomato omelette with potatoes and sourdough toast. Seriously, it was the best breakfast I’ve had in ages. My mother had the Polish sausage omelette with fruit on the side and she loved it. My 90-year-old father devoured his waffle, eggs and bacon. Downtown Lincoln is charming and it’s a pleasure to see a top-notch restaurant like Awful Annie’s anchoring one of the main corners.

Slight wait for seating(I was alone). Very friendly all young servers. Packed Sunday morning house so there was a rather long wait for the order and the place teemed with the sounds of a hundred voices! Quiche was very good however water droplets from the garnish greenery(!) made much of the bottom crust soggy. American style coffee was good but not exceptional.

Just passing through, what a cute place to stop at. Humble yet vibrant. Friendly, fast staff. I feel at home. Eating the California sandwich, very very refreshing. If I’m ever in this town again, here’s where I’ll be eating.

First the food, that alone gives this place a 10⁄10. Delicious, variety, unique. The location is easy to find and eat to get to, though the parking can be difficult considering it is such a small area but it is manageable. What drops this place a star for me is that you cannot make reservations for under 7 people and the place is always full. If you are not ready to wait for half an hour then do not make the commitment. If you decide to power through the wait, the food will blow your socks off and the friendly staff will always give you a warm smile.

Stopped in for lunch while I was in town. I wanted something simple and settled on the grilled cheese, which was quite good. Everyone was friendly and the service was quick. My favorite thing is the bags of tea you can buy and brew at home. It’s a decaffeinated cinnamon orange tea. I think it also has licorice root or something similar, because it tastes sweet even though it’s not sugared.

We just moved to town and couldn’t wait to try this local spot. Downtown Lincoln appears to be an up and coming spot. This restaurant fits the town lifestyle very much. We came in for a brunch and already can’t wait to come back. We had a party size of 5. Greeted and seated promptly. Service was perfect. Greeted immediately for drink orders. My wife had a bloody and I had a mimosa. Both where great and much to our liking. For our meal I can the Cobb omelet. Looked great and can’t say I have had something like this before. Great portion size and loved the blue cheese crumbles. Fresh fruit always a healthy alternative. Side of wheat toast with delicious fresh jelly. The wife had the grilled cheese and salad. Salad was fresh, great size. She loved the croutons. Her grilled cheese was amazing as she put it. Great portion. Well prepared. We will hands down be back and recommend this spot to anyone in the area looking for a solid home cooked style meal. Cheers.

Not so impressed the second time around. Only waited for a few minutes for a table and that was probably the highlight for this visit. The wait for the food was painful. And when the food did arrive, it was not even warm. Maybe we’ll come back there, maybe not. If we do, hopefully, it will be better than the last.

Traveling through Lincoln and was looking for some biscuits and gravy. Made some locals that told me about awful annies. I was not steered wrong at all! Went for biscuits and gravy but once I saw the menu I was so torn. They have so much to offer. Choose a meat skillet with spinach. Unbelievable! Of course ordered a side of gravy. So much food but it was all good. If I make it back I will definitely go back.

I have never given five stars as a review prior to this but this restaurant warrants every one. I had the best Monte Cristo and my husband had Eggs Benedict. They both were outstanding. Since this new location opened just 3 days ago we expected a bit of chaos and were pleasantly surprised to experience the same excellent service we got at their previous location in Old Town. This new location is perfect, easier to get to right off hwy 80 with plenty of parking. It is so refreshing with charm around every corner. Truly they have it all, o’utside deck, amazing dine in full bar area and lots of room for every occasion. Awful Annies, you still have the best breakfast and lunch available in our quaint town, is there any chance you will consider serving dinner someday?

The new Awful Annie’s in Auburn is finally open! I think it’s the Baker family that own the awful Annie’s locations. I must say at this new spot they have outdone themselves! It seems they are carrying on their tradition of great food and wonderful service. I’ll be back!

Pros: delicious food and friendly service. Cons: very long wait time due to always being packed. Even on weekdays, expect to wait an hour from entering till eating… sometimes more.

I’m torn. 3.75 stars? I’m torn because while the atmosphere was good, the service was attentive, and the prices were pretty reasonable, the food didn’t make me want to come back. My man got the chicken pesto sandwich. They asked if he wanted fries, soup, or salad, and he chose a salad, which came out before his sandwich. Then when his sandwich came out, it came with a MASSIVE pile of generic tortilla chips. Tortilla chips weren’t an option. If they were, he would have still chosen a salad. What a waste of food. The sandwich itself looked epic and the components were promising, but there was such huge, folded leaves of lettuce on it that everything was sliding out, there was hardly any chicken, the red pepper slices were massive and also sliding around. It wasn’t composed well. I had the crab cake benedict and it was eh. The crab cakes were flaming hot and huge(one of which was almost all deep-fried breading and no crab), on top of avocado and tomato on the English muffin. This sounds like a glorious combination, but the heat of the crab cake warmed everything through, so there was no freshness left in the veggies below and any crispness the muffin had was lost, as well. The hollandaise didn’t taste like much of anything; when I tasted it by itself, it might have chicken stock in it, which is weird. Overall, their menu looks delicious and their ingredients are fresh, but the composition of the food doesn’t appear to have much attention paid to it. The bloody mary was awesome, though.

Located off the old highway through town. This breakfast spot can get busy. Wait times vary on group size. Decently paced are the staff to host and wait for the table. American food offerings and a mid priced point. One can find some coupons in various entertainment books. Most breakfasts I order dishes with eggs. Eggs come with potatoes. Food is okay. Nothing stellar, uniquely inspiring, or horribly awful. Wait staff was okay. Water and beverages were taken care of periodically. Bill settlement was ok. Good: average service and food. Bad: nothing. Id try some point again soon.
