Fred & Steve’s Steakhouse

This place is such a disappointment. Honestly get better service and hotter food at a McDonald’s. Tonight we waited 45 minutes for a table, when we were sat we waited 10 minutes for drinks, and then another 45 minutes for out food. And then my food came out looking like it was sitting under the heat lamp for the entire 45 minutes we were waiting and it was killed. Then they brought me a new one, AFTER everyone else was done with their meals, and it was rare. Not even the medium that I had originally asked for. Just really disappointed for the ridiculous prices you pay here you should at least get hot food and good service.

Decided to go here with family and friends for New Years Eve 2016 and I couldn’t have been any happier with the selection. Everyone had a fantastic time and the food was prepared perfectly and served by a very capable staff.
Just about all of us had meat and it was all done completely to our preferred cooking temperature. Appetizers were fantastic. Lobster Mac & Cheese was great.
Recommend the fruit cornucopia for dessert.
Special shout out to Manager Phil for parlaying my special seating needs on a very busy night. The man is a gem.

We had our company Christmas party here last night and the staff was very attentive and helpful. The only reason I am giving a 3 star rating is because my medium rare filet showed up at a medium well temperature. The server took my entire plate and said they would include everything on my plate when they returned it. When the replacement steak was brought back to me my entire party was either done eating or nearly done. The server also failed to put the mashed potatoes on my plate, so no starch for me. They also failed to put any creamed corn on the plate (which was there when they took it) and the corn that was left in the dish on the table was cold by the time it arrived.
They would be getting a lesser star rating but they did bring me a shrimp cocktail during my wait, however, that didn’t make up for the errors.
When you’re drinking $ 100+ bottles of wine and spending the kind of money on the food that we did, the service needs to be impeccable.
Again, the servers were all very good, it’s the kitchen that dropped the ball for me. I’m disappointed in this visit.

Fred and Steve’s was great! David gave us such a great experience, he were so nice and accommodating. The restaurant was very busy and I can see why. The great service was complimented by some great steaks, I got the barrel cut filet and my husband got the NY Strip cooked to perfection. We also got a great deal on a bottle of wine, 25% off and it peered perfectly. We can’t wait to visit again !

Me and my boyfriend frequently dine here in the evening. Every time we have spectacular service and the food is amaZing, we absolutely love the specials that’s usually what we get, well last night we had exceptionally perfect service and even better food!!! Our server was Kevin I believe… Very friendly, personable, fast, knowledgeable… Answered any questions we had. He is a very high quality server and we would love to have him again. Very nice guy. We have also had a girl named Rachel a couple times in the past who is also excellent. For the food we both had the filet mignon with lobster on the top, stuffed shrimp on the side, and it also came with a hollaindaise sauce and butter on the side. Everything was so decadent and delicious. The lobster was amazing. We both loved it. Our waters were constantly refilled and Kevin and his partner kept checking in on us to make sure everything was okay. We will be returning again, because the food is great and service is perfect.

My husband and I had the pleasure of having dinner at the bar here on Saturday night! The lounge offers a comfortable atmosphere with upbeat music and a great vibe. We started out with two appetizers. The clams casino were delicious and the shrimp cocktail were perfect. The cocktail sauce had a peppery flavor that set it apart from what we are used to which was a nice change of pace. For dinner we ended up splitting the 24 ounce Cowboy Ribeye. (Always our favorite cut) It was cooked to perfection and accompanied with carrots and French Green beans. Yum! The wine list was probably my favorite part! Ferarri Carano Siena by the glass?! Count me in! Jeff, our bartender, was super attentive and personable! We will definitely be heading back for our next date night.

Got the double bone-​in prime rib for my entrée and it was absolutely delicious. The cold seafood platter was also very good.
I highly recommend their prime rib. Five stars.

My wife and I went to Fred & Steve’s before a show on August 1^st. The restaurant is not stuffy like a lot of fine dining places which was a benefit. There was only one glitch (not the restaurant’s fault). When we ordered drinks in the beginning I ordered a Long Island iced tea and the server left to place the order. About 15 minutes went by and we were wondering what was going on. The server came back and apologized. Apparently there is a law that casinos in Rhode Island cannot serve drinks with more than four liquors in them. So, I changed my drink order and the rest of the night was smooth sailing. The manager heard about it and came over to explain it more and apologize.
The Food: We started with French onion which is some of the best we have ever had. For the main course my wife had the Chicken and Lobster Campenella and she got the lobster mac and cheese as well. Both were fabulous. I ordered the New York strip medium rare. Now, most of the time I order steak it comes a trifle over or under cooked. When she brought out the steak she asked that I cut it in front of her to make sure. It was cooked perfectly! She brought a selection of sauces to try with it. I usually go for gorgonzola, but the bearnaise sauce was just too rich and wonderful to ignore. That sauce on the steak was a perfect combination. I also had au gratin potatoes which were very good and the creamed corn which was amazing!
Dessert: I was going to get the bananas foster cheesecake but then someone went by delivering this massive gorgeous dessert which turned out to be the Florentine Fruittabunga. Well, we just had to try that and we weren’t sorry. It’s a must have!
All in all, we couldn’t have been more pleased with our experience at Fred & Steve’s. The food and service was great. We will definitely be back!

Good Value but Service Missteps
I want to start and say that I was close to giving this place 4 stars, so I guess my real rating is 3 ½ stars. This is a tough place to review, it is supposed to represent fine dining so you have to be more stringent went you critique the food and service.
Décor:
A mans cigar room with a modern flair, dark leather chairs around, dark colored booths, with a large bar area.
Food and Service:
Here’s the conflict I ordered the NY Strip off the Lounge Menu for 38 dollars, my wife ordered a queen prime rib which was a special for 25 bucks and a French onion soup for 8 dollars. They also offered a deal on a bottle of quality house wine for 12 bucks with an order of 2 entrees. This to me for an upscale steakhouse is a crazy bargain. Your looking at 175 bucks at a place like Ruth’s Chris, that’s 50% less expensive and the quality and flavor were very good. However, both of our meals were served with incorrect sauces and sides and the servers seemed confused. Also there was a real issue with getting the bill as well.
Tip:
Order the French Onion Tureen, absolutely delicious. My wife’s all time favorite.
Overall:
For a little over 100 bucks including tip, I don’t think you can beat this value. If they just worked on perfecting the service issues, I could give this place another star. It’s by far the best eating option at the Twin River Casino.

5 stars for everything they do here. i am always confused by whom is waiting on us tho because it varies to be 3 or 4 people who come to our table. However the food is excellent. The quality of the service is excellent. Wish they would bring bak the BBQ special combo dinner for 2. LOVED those ribs. Best i have ever eaten.

Weirdly dumb name but actually a fantastic steakhouse! My group sampled nearly everything on the menu. I could barely make it past the bread basket, which by the way was piping hot and offered a variety of different breads with different sauces. They have this plate of thick cut bacon with a chocolate chipotle sauce that will make forget that amazing bread basket you just gobbled up. I was also amused that they had clams casino because a) you just don’t see that on menus anymore, and b) it’s in a casino. Hah. Jokes. I can’t say enough good things about the staff here though. We had a few different runners and busboys come by and everyone was sweet as pie; the manager also came around to make sure everything was good. I had such a nice time that I forgot I was in Twin River.

You have to admit that place runs well, the food is great, portions are big and the service is always amazing.
I like the place and I am not really a big steak place, but I appreciate good service and good food.
The desserts are outstanding too.
Good selections of wine and drinks.

Twin River is scene all on it’s own but when you walk into Fred & Steve’s it’s a whole different game show. A nice steak house nestled upstairs from the gaming and entertainment chupla.
My husband loves the double bone in prime rib and gets it hands down every time! I have had delicious soups, salads, the filet and the beef carpaccio and have never been disappointed.
Always and consistently a wonderful meal with excellent service.

My boyfriend took me here last Saturday night to celebrate my birthday, and the whole experience couldn’t have been better!
We had been to the restaurant before and loved it, so I was excited he chose this as my birthday dinner location. He made reservations and we were seated immediately. Our servers were Erica and Eric (I think those were their names, can’t recall right at this moment) and they were so friendly and attentive. We requested to sit at a table in the middle since they have these big, comfortable leather chairs and they put us in a great spot.
The meal itself was absolutely delicious — I had the swordfish and my boyfriend got a filet. Both excellent and filling, and his steak was cooked perfectly. Our drinks were awesome as well. But honestly the service and attentiveness made everything so special. When we were done eating, we were surprised with a yummy dessert for my birthday and then Erica came over to take a picture of the two of us, which she then printed out and put in a small frame to give to us. It was such a thoughtful touch and really made me feel special!
Thanks Fred and Steve’s for a very memorable birthday! We will definitely be back!

Fred and Steve’s has amazing steaks. I try to go once a week while at the casino, but I would even just come for the steakhouse. The new york sirloin with bernaise sauce and the rack of lamb with raspberry reduction are the two best dishes. They also have the best beef carpacio I’ve had. Awesome wine list and ice wine list. Make sure you try the crème brule when they are featuring the brown sugar flavor.
The food is awesome but what tops the food is the service. When you dine here make sure to request Rachel… she only serves in the lounge but her service is amazing. Very friendly and attentive! As well as the management… great staff, great food… id come more often if I didnt live in boston.

I am dropping this place down to three stars. I have always loved
this place however tonight I was disappointed. The bread basket is always good with the dipping sauces but they never give you enough of them. The clam chowder was piping hot and delicious. I ordered the surf and turf which consists of a petite filet and two baked stuffed shrimp. The stuffing on the shrimp tasted old and funky while the filet was ok. I
Ordered creamed corn which they forgot to bring and I had to wait a good 10 minutes for it to arrive. It was luke warm and my food got cold waiting for it. Anyways my meal was only sub par compared to the usual. Waiter was overly friendly and annoying. Place needs to
step it back up!

Yum we love sitting at the Raw Bar that overlooks the kichen, they are so nice to us there.

What happened Fred & Steve??? This was one of my favorite places and we would drive 1 hour to get to you. The last time we were there service and the food were not good but that can happen but we just went back again and the service was bad. It took about 20 minutes to get a bottle of wine but I can overlook that but then the food was as bad as it was the time before. I could cry as I type this bad review. 90 percent of the photos are from me from my previous wonderful experienced and now I have lost my luster for this restaurant. Whatever you did, please fix it. I loved being double teamed with waitstaff and I loved the fresh food. The last 2 times it tastes Ike the food was reheated. I am beyond sad. Please, please fix whatever you changed.
