We eat here whenever we are in the mood for Mexican food. Best taqueria in Lincoln bar none. We’ve been to them all. Before they opened we had to go to Jalisco’s in Roseville for a good burrito.

Really enjoyed this place. Food was really fresh and the service was good too. Plus my favorite thing is the multiples Mexican beers on tap! Will definitely go back !!

The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is because the Chimichanga was going to be served«naked». .The chimichanga on a plate. That’s it. The waitress looked at me like I was crazy for asking for some lettuce when I ordered Most restaurants places the chimichanga on a bed of lettuce and a scoop of rice and beans sits beside it. Example: Other wise the food was excellent. Will go back again

Great food, but horrible service. The waitress was inattentive and rude. Maybe she was just having me a bad day, but first impressions are everything and I definitely won’t go back.

This was my first time visiting El Portal Taqueria in Lincoln and I was very disappointed. After going to the«other» location numerous times this place was a huge disappointment and waste of money. I will never return. Wait staff was tired, uninterested, bored, and would rather have been anywhere but here. Salsa which I normally LOVE, was thin and inedible. Try harder people or you’ll be out of business very soon.

The customer service is good, the food is good and the hours of Business if amazing as well. They serve everything from breakfast burritos to traditional Mexican cuisines to typical American/Mexican food. Very delicious, however could be a little less greasy.

Small place with consistently the best and freshest Mexican food. Lincoln has other good Mexican restaurants, but El Portal is our favorite.

I have always had great experiences eating here. But today I ordered togo and specifically asked for my burrito without the meat and to sub it with sour cream(because their meat is dry). I was told sure no problem. Once I arrived the charges me extra for the sour cream. So asked the girls why if they are not giving me a discount for not having the meat. What I got was attitude and rude from both. They could careless about their customers. Bottom line I wouldn’t care so much and it may seem stupid that I am freaking out about sour cream, but it is more of how they treated me. Their food is good for the price but beware of the employees.

My family loves El Portal! The chips are hot and fresh, the salsa could use more of a kick but it’s really good. The carne asada fries are really good but my all time favorite is the fish tacos. I dream about those crispy fish tacos with the pickled red onion. Yum! It’s a great family business that deserves our support! They are a great option for take out as well!

Big portions on the super nacho and Carne asada fries. They were willing to substitute corn for flour tortillas, due to my daughter’s allergies. The do not use peanut oil. Very friendly and on top of our needs. Will try again and see. Just moved to Lincoln so we are trying new places.

First time visiting this place, since we moved to lincoln. I had the super burrito Al pastor, pretty good, your typical taqueria burrito, might try different meat next time. Wife had the fish tacos, and they were good, cabbage was a good in it. Friendly people and a nice local place to eat.

Went here for dinner on Saturday night as we came back from Oroville. We sat down because I guess you seat yourself anywhere you like, which is great, but it would be nice if there was a sign or something that tells you that. Don’t like to stand in the middle of the room going… huh? They gave us the traditional tortilla chips and salsa. Chips were okay. Didn’t taste fresh. The salsa was actually really good. It was sweet, not spicy, which is a nice change of pace. The onions did not give off that overpowering bitterness from onions. I think they use Vidalia’s sweet onions(i’m just guessing here). Ordered taco salad and wife always gets the carne asada. My taco salad, surprisingly was very good. I usually compare taco salads to the taco salad from Taco Bell. I know you all are livin’ it hearing something like that. I grew up with Taco Bell’s Taco salad. That is my bench mark. Is it truly Mexican Authentic food, no, but I like it. It tastes good. So let it be! =P The taco salad had good flavor in the ground beef(I had other options, but I like to stick with the basic). The outer shell was fried perfection. It was crispy. The lettuce was abundant and it was VERYLARGE. Couldn’t finish it. It also had guacamole, and Mexican rice. The Mexican rice was good. The wife’s carne asade was very thin and did not have any bite. It was not as good as it really should. Her favorite carne asada is at Plaza Jalisco in Roseville. Would we come back here? Sure. It wasn’t half bad.

This has become one of my favorite lunch spots in town when the right people are there. I love their lunch carne asada soft taco special. Cheap and filling, as well as delicious. The cheese enchiladas are also fantastic. Definitely a place you have to check out at least once, though you’ll most likely go several times.

The food is pretty good for a local Mexican joint. Fish tacos are excellent if that’s what you are in the market for. Be warned the servers are all teenager girls. So your service and satisfaction come way after checking facebook and Twitter. But if you want a quick, easy, and decently tasting meal, then this is your spot.

We moved to Lincoln about a year a half ago and finally tried this place about 6 months ago. Best mexican food in Lincoln in our opinion! My parents even drive here from Roseville. Service can be a little slow but food is definitely great!

Disappointed. Fish taco too heavily breaded and tongue taco tasted old. Beans and rice were good. Also expected a salsa bar… Waiting too long for check. No one ever inquired as to how my meal was. Won’t be back. Still waiting for check…
