The food was very good and fresh. The service is great and the place had a lot of character. I would definitely eat here again.

Following a review from the OR Food Carts blog, this was one of the food carts I made a point to stop and try during my visit. I was not disappointed at all. In fact, it made me ashamed. Side story: NorCal raised and detest our little quirk. First bite into the Niki-wich and the tots? «Man, this is HELLA good!», followed by a facepalm. Congrats Lovin’ Spoonfull, you made me revert to my NorCal roots in one bite. The best way I can describe the food is homey and motherly. I felt like Anton Ego in Ratatouille and the food instantly shot me back to my days as a kid. Dragged another friend with me here for the breakfast burrito and we were not disappointed at all. We agreed this is great food where you get so much for so little. Hope you’re still around should I drop back to Portland.

There are great Thai, Korean, and Indian carts downtown but sometimes you want some good old american diner food. The Lovin’ Spoonfull not only provides this, but also at a great price. The two sisters who run the truck are very nice and helpful. I had a very standard sandwich, the Turkey Club. It is not hard to mess up but the bread was toasted perfectly(not so hard that you get Captain Crunch mouth) and the veggies were fresh. I picked fries for my side and they were nothing special but perfect for diner food. I still don’t have a great idea of how good the food is but the price, atmosphere and friendly people deserve 5 stars for now. I can’t wait to try some breakfast or a burger on another day.

Oh man, this could be my new fave cart for a while. I’m kind of in a chicken strip coma so my thoughts here may not sequence well: Amazing menu and great prices. Tuna melt on your choice of bread with cheese and a side for $ 3.95?! And the sides are fries, tots, salad or a cup of chili?! Burgers with a side for $ 5.95?! Breakfast all day?! Donuts, cookies and cupcakes?! Soyrizo breakfast burritos?! Homemade chips and salsa?! Too many delicious, inexpensive items! They even have books you can borrow. They may have set a new standard. lovin’ the lovin Spoonfull.
