New Foon Hing Yuen

Ordered vegetable chow mein, food was not as expected. Friends tried chicken, quantity is good but not good in taste. ambience is ok. Only one restaurant open till 11 pm.

All three of us had delicious meals. My Cashew Chicken was quite tasty and service was very good. Prices are quite reasonable too. All of the above makes the drive through Lincoln City weekend traffic worthwhile.
One important drawback is that the restaurant is not handicapped accessible as there are steps to get inside. If a wheelchair bound person wanted to chance being helped up the steps, they could get around just fine once inside.

I have had a couple nice lunches there in house. My experience with take out, late evening is not even close to the same food. The egg foo young was acceptable, but the bbq pork was soured, and the sweet sour chicken must have been deep fried and refried over a few times. Nasty. Cant do this again. So much for late nite China for me.

Totally acceptable Chinese food. Food came out quickly and the lunch specials are well priced. The highlight was the crab rangoon… could eat a plate of those and only regret it afterwards.

We took advise of other Unilocalers and ordered the shrimp egg rolls and they were pretty good. The fried shrimp was good too. Do not order the general taos chicken! The sauce was so sour and awful. The inside is outdated but the service was good and food came out fast.

I’ve never wrote a bad review until now. I ordered a chicken and rice. My husband ordered a #12. We waited a long time for the food to arrive. My husbands arrived first. Mine came 7 minutes later. When I bit into mine I was shocked. It was fish. Tilapia. Just to make sure my husband took a bite. He confirmed what my tastebuds already told me. I immediately took it to the waitress. They told me I was wrong and it would be up to the chef if I had to pay for It. The gray haired older white female heavier set waitress started swearing at my husband. My husband asked her to please don’t curse and there was no need to yell at his wife for the bad food. He paid for his meal which he didn’t eat and we left.

Lincoln city is one of those places that’s a little boring after the sun goes down. Not much is open past 10 P.M., even on a Saturday night. That’s the reason I was thrilled to find this place after doing a quick Unilocal search. Open until 11:30, heck yeah! I lucked out because I happened to have Chinese in mind prior to searching.
I arrived after driving all the way to the friggin south end of town, thinking I drove by it. It’s kind of in an odd location by itself, and the only building in a mile radius with any lights on. The building was slightly uninviting, having a sketchy appearance. It was downright ghetto, but I couldn’t judge a book by its cover. The woman working the register looked less than thrilled to be there, and had about as much personality as a dead fish. She was watching a movie on her laptop and slurping top ramen, with absolutely zero table manners. Most 2 year olds are better. I had to sit there waiting for my order listening to her eat. Somewhat awkward, but I will live. At this point I only had the food left to judge, obviously the only reason I’m here to begin with. I ordered the schezuan dinner with fried rice, walnut prawns, sweet and sour chicken, and the appetizer tray (fried shrimp, crab puffs, spring rolls and BBQ pork). My only gripe is that the sweet and sour chicken was in sauce instead of it being on the side, which doesn’t work because it is deep fried and ended up soggy very fast. It tasted great. Fried shrimp and walnut prawns were to DIE for, the rice was just your typical fried rice.
Overall, if you can get past the appearance and strange service, the food is fantastic.

This place is a favorite for the Mr and me. We usually order from the lunch specials. I’m a big fan of their hot and sour soup and Mr loves the egg flower soup. We’ve been going here for over 10 years and have seen all the changes and we think it’s better than ever.

We were staying at Salishan and felt an itch for Chinese food. We do have a baby so we try to eat in more often then not. The food was piping hot on arrival. I felt this was quality American Chinese food. We loved the beef chow fun which isn’t always available at these types of restaurants. The batter on the shrimp was spot on almost a lil crunchy. The batter on the sesame chicken was light and fluffy. Overall a great meal for under $ 30 with leftovers!

Don’t expect quality. You’ll get quantity of mediocre american Chinese food. The restaurant was dingy and drab. All of the staff was sick and coughing and sneezing, never once washing their hands. One of the servers sneezed in the water pitcher and served it to a table. The server was shoving food in her mouth and sitting on a laptop when we came in and proceeded to seat us with a mouth full.
Only good thing about this place is that it’s open late. Skip it and go somewhere else!

Yuck. Ordered a combination dinner of general tso’s, sweet & sour chicken, fried rice and fried shrimp. What I got was a plate of greasy battered mystery meat and a pile of very plain white fried rice that had a hint of egg and two chunks of bbq pork. Not a single vegetable or even pineapple in the sweet and sour. Perhaps I’m spoiled with the chinese in my hometown but I’ve never seen a place not add a single vegetable to my dishes before.
My guy did better. he got sub gum chow mein on his combo and it looked good. Bright fresh vibrant chopped veges over crunchy noodles. Thats more what I expect.
Lucky me was puking this up within two hours. I’d make another choice if it were me. don’t care how hungry you are or if they WILL deliver to your hotel.

This place was good then bad and now it’s really good again the service here is really good and portions are great. food is always hot and done right but if there ever was a problem they will fix it promptly. The bar is filled with locals and good people to talk to, they also have video poker. I don’t know what you expect by going to a divey Chinese place other then good food and strong drinks so this place does it for me, plus it’s one of the only places open late in the area so you can go play and then eat. The new owners have really improved now but I hope it just keeps getting better and better. I will update my review next time I stop in.

Just ate dinner here and I had the chicken sizzling plate. I chose this dish bc I’ve never heard of it. It was amazing. The chicken was so tender, the veg were cooked just right. I highly recommend this dish.
The staff were also very friendly and were not put out by my questions about the food ingredients. We got the food very quickly and it was pipping hot. The restaurant was clean and not crowded. If your in the mood for Chinese, this place is a good alternative to the usual seafood fare on the coast.

Unilocal has been a huge help on this vacation. i wanted chinese and we had passed this place on hwy 101. Unilocal reviewers had given it 4 stars. they havent failed me yet (except with Skippers in CdA. 4 stars? really???) so i talked the wife into stopping by today for lunch. pretty typical place. a little run down but not entirely awful. we got menus but it was just a lunch menu. i am kind of a big eater so i was taken aback a little. but i saw their pick-​a-​combo plates and i decided on the almond subgum chow mein, pork fried rice and we each had crab wontons, she had sweet and sour chicken. holy moly there was a lot of food there and absolutely delicious! we both also got soup. she had egg flower and i had the hot and sour soup. really tasty! my only complaint with the place was the hot tea seemed a little weak, otherwise pretty perfect, especially considering we both got out of there for $ 12.50, plus tip. heck yeah!

well i use to not like this place, but one night after work about 1030pm we stopped in mainly cause it was the only thing open. but i was really amazed, the dinning room was redone and so was the food! i had almond fried chicken one of my faves, and it was so great, cooked perfectly and the gravy was savory! defiantly retry this place if you haven’t had luck with them in the past. also they deliver which is a great plus!

I feel dirty as I write this, betraying my favorite childhood Chinese food dive in Gladstone, Oregon, but — I was blown away. Our family has a beach house around the corner that we haven’t been to in 3 years or so. Finally made the trek to find my Uncle had left New Foon’s menu in their handy dandy notebook of Lincoln City. After much deliberation in the 2 hour car ride here about wanting or not wanting to go out for dinner, we discovered these Chinese Gods deliver! And they delivered fresh, hot, crisp deliciousness. I make it a point to compare shrimp egg rolls to every Chinese restaurant I visit (because my hometown ones have simply been the best) and I think I almost shed a tear when I took a bite of their delectable shrimp egg roll — TO DIE FOR. The sweet and sour chicken was crisp and the sauce was perfectly, uhhh — sweet and sour. They were generous with their dipping sauce sides and between the quality of food, delivery and quality after delivery especially — I was more than impressed. Best Chinese I think I’ve ever had.

If this were the only good thing about this Chinese café, it wouldn’t be enough — but luckily, they earn all 4 stars and maybe a little more!
I have been stuck at home unable to drive for a bit because of an injury, and had eaten about as much of my own cooking as I can stand — so I went searching for a place that delivers for a reasonable delivery charge ($ 3) — and with good Unilocal reviews –
And this was my lucky day. Not only do they have wonderful variety — you can order online from their menu, thus avoiding any mistakes or confusion — then they call and confirm (yes, sauce on the side, please) and half an hour later — they found my front door and the food was still piping hot and yummy. 1. I tried their crab puffs (fried wonton wrappers full of a cream-​cheesy concoction — perfect.
I tried one of their combination plates, just so I could get a wide sampling –
2. shrimp egg roll was stuffed and overflowing with crunchy veggies and tiny bay shrimp — great flavor and not the least bit greasy as some egg rolls can be.
3. sweet and sour chicken (sauce on side) — a paper box full and overflowing with finger-​sized chicken bits fried crunchy. Excellent pieces of meat with no unidentifiable bits… good flavor.
4. almond chicken with crispy noodles was flavorful (though I added a tiny bit of soy sauce) — lots of wonderful veggies and enough nuts to flavor. excellent!
5. BBQ pork fried rice — another full box of yum. rice was cooked exactly as I like, with just enough added bits of meat and veg to make it work.
overall, way too much food for 1 meal — which is fine. Leftovers will be devoured for supper.
6. My only reservation was a cup of wonton soup which was a tiny bit heavy on the sesame oil — the flavor was a little too much, and it made the soup a bit oily. I only ate 1 bite, then set it aside, in favor of all the other excellent food. I’ll try one of their other soups next time.
If you’re travelling, they have very reasonable lunch specials from 11am-​2pm (maybe 3pm?) — a 2 entrée lunch for $ 6 – 7 with spring rolls, rice and a fried shrimp. Also lots of non-​meat options, and a wide list of kids meals.
My favorite Chinese food on the coast! — They’re in the Nelscott area of Lincoln City.

Last week my husband and I went here for dinner, and we ordered Mongolian beef and sweet and sour
chicken. The Mongolian beef was delicious, and I like how they range the spicy from 1 star to 5 stars to let the customer choose. The sweet and sour chicken was good also~ and the waitress was very nice and sweet~

We opened the door to the the smell of a very old dirty building. We had to turn and walk out.
