NO surprise, Silverbergs(the only other place that was competing locally) is out of business. Can’t compete with authentic value. Good on ya, Burt’s.

Brace yourself. You are going to spend at least $ 10 on a sandwich without chips or a drink. It will be a generous portion, but as soon as you can wrap your head around the sticker price you will defiantly enjoy your trip to Bert’s. This is the best corned beef /pastrami sandwich I’ve had outside the city of Chicago. Your best bet is to walk in, order a «Yummy» and just let the magic happen around you. I like mine with a little extra horseradish but unless you had the stuff placed on your pacifier as a baby, just let them make it for you their way. Need a quick sandwich that will put a smile on your face and a hole in your wallet? Bert’s has you covered. Don’t let the price tag keep you away. It’s a nice lunchtime treat.

Mazel Tov! What’s not to love about a classic neighborhood Jewish deli. They just made their film debut on @chicagosbesttv takeout episode, which aired on 1÷23÷16 and it reminded me that it had been some time since my original visit, some 8 months ago. Of course I went with another«Yummy» and actually hung around a few hours chatting with the locals, owner Ralph and his lovely wife. Turns out our lives may have crossed some years back, both being from the Northshore. You just don’t find class act like this deli, a son carrying on his pops dream from ’75, as an every day occurrence. You won’t only leave with a belly full of food but a belly full of joy, be sure this place is on your bucket list. #cbchats

What a great find! This small Jewish deli is great! I just walked in after dropping our dog for grooming next door and wanted to check out the menu. The owners realized I was a «first timer» and insisted on me to try out slice of corned beef and pastrami. It was amazing. I decided to get a turkey and pastrami sandwich and my family loved it. I will be back. Again and again. P.S to owners– to make it a true Jewish deli, I would love to see you carry the real Jewish bagels(like the ones available in Skokie).

This place has been here since the 70s and I am upset that I just found out about it 5yrs ago! The first time I came in I had the Hot Corned Beef sandwich and it was delicious. Second time around I had the Pastrami and fell in love with it. For the past couple years I come here just for the hot Pastrami. Its amazing, excellent flavor and extremely juicy! I have never been disappointed with a sandwich from here. With a little horseradish and mustard and melted cheese the sandwich is amazing. The place is kind of hidden on the side of a strip mall. The interior probably has not changed since the 70s or 80s but I think thats one of the best qualities. This place is a must try when you want a sandwich with minimal bread and stacked meat!
