I’m disgusted by the manager of this place! We went for Thanksgiving, and upon getting our salads off of the buffet, one of our party found a ladybug crawling through his lettuce. We asked for a manager, and were informed by the employee that came to the table that the manager had told her to take care of the problem. She was polite, but we were appalled that for the occasion and price of the meal that the manager could not be bothered to directly address the concerns we had. To add insult to injury, he offered a meager $ 7.50 discount on our $ 225.00+ bill for the inconvenience of finding bugs in the food. He obviously didn’t seem to understand that finding critters in the food was a major turn off for the entire table, not just the person who found it. Fortunately the young lady the manager kept sending to the table had more sense then him, and urged him to try again in making it right for us. Of course this wasn’t until we informed her that we were surprised at the minimal discount. In the end though, the lack of overall concern on behalf of the manager to the point that he couldn’t be bothered to come by leaves me more disgusted with this place than finding a bug in our food. Specifically, my disgust is with him. That’s poor management, and it basically sent the message to us of, «I don’t care.» We have come to this place two years in a row for Thanksgiving. We will not be coming back for a third. We just expected better treatment, and a little more concern for the problem we had. Especially considering that it was a holiday, and the food was a $ 75.00 per person affair(plus more for drinks) — Which is a ten dollar increase in price per person from the prior year. I thought Lansdowne Resort was a classy place catering to elegant dining. I guess I thought wrong. Quite honestly I wasn’t looking for any discount on the price. I simply wanted the manager to man up, come to the table, and apologize to us — You know, show he cared. That would have gone a whole lot farther then his halfhearted attempt at a discount. Definitely a zero star worthy dining experience.

Delicious breakfast buffet. Very clean, fresh and lots of choices. Fresh made to order one lets, Belgian waffles and pancakes, lots of fruit, bagels and fresh croissants. Berry smoothie was delicious and I could tell it was real fruit. Raspberry jam was good, my husband loves the apple jam. Kiwi and strawberry infused water were yummy. Great service of coffee and juice, sat by the window and had a nice view of the landscape. Overall one of the best breakfast buffets I had been to. Price was decent too, about $ 22 a person.

Upscale restaurant. Nice environment. Had Christmas lunch buffet. Food was outstanding. High quality food. Still worth it even it was expensive(about $ 75 a person). Would definitely go back for special occasions.

This review is for the breakfast buffet in particular. It is the best breakfast buffet in the area. Good quality bacon and sausage links. Not the flimsy cheap stuff. Fresh fruits are always on hand with some choices of berries. The orange juice is awesome! Tastes almost like fresh squeezed. And unlimited refills which is nice. You can get omelets, eggs, and pancakes/waffles made to order. The restaurant interior is standard for a typical 4 star hotel but the special thing is he nice view of the golf course. Huge floor to ceiling windows gives a very nice place to enjoy a leisurely breakfast. My kids love coming here for breakfast.

This review is based on the Thanksgiving Buffet. I will admit that I was a bit skeptical before we went. The reviews for both the restaurant and the resort were not great. And I really wanted to go somewhere else for dinner. But my partner had his heart set on this place, and it was much closer to where we live, so we went for it. I was very pleasantly surprised. The buffet overall was excellent. The prime rib was to die for. Perfectly cooked and fork tender. While there was a wide variety, I fell in love with the roasted fall veggies. I could have eaten my weight in them. Almost everything was very, very good. The only notable exception was the rosemary lamb. Whichever cook murdered the lamb by cooking it to the consistency of very old and stiff shoe-leather should be taken out and keel-hauled. The service was also exceptional. My tea and water glasses were never empty and dirty plates were removed immediately and almost invisibly. I will definitely try Riverside Hearth again.

The brunch used to be fantastic — lots of choice, good service, etc. Now they have cut it down to the usual small assortment of foods and the crowds seem to be staying away. Service was OK, not great. And the service charge added to our bill(we were a party of 6) was 22%! 22% for a self serve buffet with the waiter bringing some drinks — give me a break! You can do better for $ 50 at other local restaurants.

Located inside the fancy Lansdowne Resort, this restaurant offers really extravagant Sunday brunch. This includes roast beef, sushi rolls, crab claws, shrimp, chocolate fondue, caviar, etc, etc. All these plus champagne(I think unlimited) for only $ 50. What a steal! Well, not really, they serve expensive food to make people feel rich, but they’re not prepared that well. Service isn’t great either. This place is for you if your company is paying you to stay here, you have more money than you know what to do with, or you think you can drink $ 50 worth of champagne. For all other good Unilocalers, you’re better off at IHOP.
