Food was great and came out timely. Only issue was there were many tables open in the room with the arcade that they weren’t seating. Our server was quite busy so assume that they were not staffed for it. We got there early probably had a 45 – 1 hr wait when we left with open tables. Only reason it’s not 5 stars.

I’ve gone there a number of times over the years and never had a problem. Today, my order took a very long time to get to me(I was going to joke that while there is Pie 5, this was Pie 50!) Actually, an abnormally long time to get to me. Then the cook forgot to put a topping on my pizza. That was a very disappointing experience. But the reason for the good review is I like to base a restaurant on how they handle things when something goes wrong, not when everything goes right. Anybody can have four or five star service when everything goes right. While there was something off about who was ever cooking pizzas that day, and I hope it’s addressed with the kitchen staff, I felt the waitress really handled it well and was actively in communication with me about the unexpected issues. So while I didn’t get my pizza in any reasonable amount of time and they forgot a topping, she comped my ticket 20% and when I got my food it was enjoyable. I’ve been there before and I will go back. I just hope they get the kitchen end of it in shape, because there’s only so much a friendly wait staff can do to offset whatever their problem was. I did feel the veggie toppings were a little sparse for the amount paid, though. Still, a good pizza, just for the price you pay per topping, they could get a little more generous with the toppings. One star off for that, other wise I love this place and hope today was just a one time glitch.

This place is fantastic. The place is always packed w/customers, and the food is usually terrific. The owners seem to have a winning formula here as the place is very good sized, and is pretty full, there is even a wait on some weeknights! I am not a fan of the«St. Louis Style» pizza, but like almost everything else.

We went with a large group of friends so we created our own party atmosphere and that fit right into the scene that seemed to be the usual. Had a check-in offer for a cookie and they ended up giving us an assortment of three, which when cut properly offered a nice bite to everyone in our group. The service was a bit hectic and the atmosphere, as mentioned, was crazed. This is a loud, kid filled raucous pizza joint! Was surprised to see Cinder Block brews on tap, but love when local brews are available and we had to take advantage of that offering! For pizza, we had the Greek pie with sauce, garlic, lamb, tomatoes, arugula, red onions and feta. If you like lamb, this is a solid choice, great flavor combinations with the«traditional» Greek offering. The other pie we had was the Local Pig Special. As a huge fan of Local Pig, I was immediately drawn to offering. The description does say«spicy» and they are not messing around with you on that designation as this turned out to have a serious bite. I would be careful around kids and the squeamish with this flavor profile. It was however delicious and gave me reason to have another Cinder Block. The ‘za with porcini mushrooms and the gorgeous and savory LP sausage along with the unusual roasted potatoes, tomatoes, onions and Parmesan was unusual, but absolutely worth the trip. I highly recommend this spot for a meet up with friends. Shake your groove thing, yeah, yeah!

My fiancé and I get pizza and beer in every new city we visit. You might say we are connoisseurs. This is our favorite place. Please enjoy it and try the Gooey Butter Cake! You’re Welcome.

This place has a lot of potential, but didn’t quite do it for me. The garlic cheese bread was amazing, but the pizza was below average. Prices are decent though… if you go on Mondays a 14inch one topping is less than $ 9. I consider myself a pizza fanatic so I can venture to say that it’s the sauce that brings this pizza down. The crust, ingredients and cheese are amazing, but the sauce is from a can. It tastes like metal, has a thin consistency and lacks herbs/spices. Topping the meal off with one of their gooey chocolate chip cookies made up for it though.

Great pizza! We tried Waldo for the first time a few weeks ago, my wife ordered carry out, and built her own pizza which was actually pretty tasty. After that we decided to try dining in. They have plenty of room, and plenty of beers, and drinks. The have a few booths, a small bar, and plenty of tables, I can imagine it can get pretty crowded on busy nights. The servers were very prompt and friendly. It looks like they have an arcade on one side and the group of kids hanging out on that side got a little loud, but nothing to terrible. They have a wide variety of items, pizza, salads, sandwiches, and plenty of deserts. On our dine in experience we tried their white chicken pizza, which was actually a little little bland. Overall it’s a pretty solid place, I’ll definitely come back to try some of their other pizzas!

After reading reviews, we stopped here for lunch on our way to Kansas city. We chose to do the lunch buffet. The pizza was delicous! The pasta was good and so was the salad. We loved the Garlic ranch. We checked into Unilocal and received a free order of cookies for doing so. We will be back if ever in the area!

About once or twice a year we do ‘Family Pizza Day’ for the whole gang. In the past we have ordered boxes & boxes of pizza, trekked them home and demolished them all in less than 40 minutes and maybe didn’t have quite enough of the pepperoni or veggie lovers so that everyone got their fill. This year we decided to mix it up a bit and chose Waldo Pizza in Lee’s Summit for a better approach to assuring everyone went home minus lingering hunger pangs. We settled on Waldo Pizza for a couple of compelling reasons: 1. They offer a Honey Wheat crust that is exceptional – buttery and slightly chewy; it is a substantial crust which enhances the fresh pizza ingredients with the whole grain wheat and a touch of pure honey. 2. They have a complete menu of Gluten Free choices to accommodate a couple of our family members. And there is no «compromising» on flavor or texture just because it’s gluten free. It was a real hit with my son-in-law and great-grandson who couldn’t have celebrated pizza day with us otherwise. The staff at Waldo Pizza cheerfully lined up tables and chairs to accommodate 16 adults and 5 kids. We ordered the first five pizzas a few minutes before everyone was scheduled to arrive at 4 p.m. and then as everyone arrived, our main server, Phil, made sure that everyone up and down the table got the drinks they wanted to accompany the pizzas. When the first pizza pans were getting emptied we put in a second order for several more pies. After demolishing nearly all of those, it was time to admit we were all full and ready to head out the door to either adjourn to the city park or for other Sunday evening activities. There were only a few remaining slices to be boxed up to go. Phil efficiently did the boxing for the table and even gave us a little price break on the extra-large pizzas which were the store’s Sunday Special, even though we didn’t have a coupon, which was especially kind of him. I personally tried the Waldo Combo, The Choice Cut(Waldo’s all-meat specialty pie) and, my personal favorite, the Local Pig, which sounded intriguing loaded with Porcini Thyme Sausage, Herb-roasted potatoes, fresh Roma tomatoes, red onions, grated Parmesan cheese and a spicy red sauce that provided a satisfying amount of heat. Our server, Phil, suggested we order it on the St. Louis Style Thin Crust, which really let all the ingredients speak for themselves. It was a great choice! And I loved the pie! Our experience was very successful(with some luck thrown in) and we would definitely do another Family Pizza Day at Waldo in the future. However, I did learn several things, that I will pass along to you, that I did not know in advance of our visit on Sunday. For a larger party, Waldo does require at least 24 hours advance notice to allow for accommodating your needs in an efficient manner.(I didn’t phone them until about noon on Sunday and we wanted to arrive at 2PM. I mostly called just to ‘pre-order’ the pizzas to be ready by our arrival time. But, I’m glad I called because it happened that the restaurant had one party for 100 and another for 20, ALLARRIVING at 2PM –WHOKNEW pizza at 2PM is so fashionable???) Since it sounded like the kitchen could be overwhelmed by the demand, I made an ‘executive decision’ to re-schedule our arrival to 4PM, notifying the family by text, phone and facebook and that worked for us. NEXTTIME, I will do the phone thing with Waldo at least 24 hours in advance, and you should too, if being all together at the same or adjoining tables is a necessary consideration for your large group. The second important thing I learned is that Waldo’s policy does not allow pre-ordering pizzas for large groups who will be dining in. Hubby and I solved that one by arriving a few minutes before everyone else and getting the order into the kitchen. Along every step leading up to our visit, as well as the level of friendly, helpful service we received, Waldo and their employees kept it classy and made every effort to treat us as valuable customers. It is just one more reason that Waldo Pizza is one of the best local pizza places in the greater Kansas City area. And it’s why we remain loyal customers.

Excellent pizza and service at this location, just like the Waldo flagship. We also tried the cookies, courtesy of checking in on the Unilocal app-they were delicious, especially the Turtle ones. The only draw-down on the rating is the noise level, probably due to the suburban location and more kids. But the 1960s-80s album cover collection in the bathroom hallway alone is worth the visit!

We’re gluten free and Waldo’s has the best GF pizza around. Great food. Great for family dinners, parties, or just getting together with friends. Lost a star for slow service. We went at lunchtime and they were busy but most people were getting the buffet. The server was friendly but it took them over 30 minutes from order placing to table. Seems overly long.

Granted, I shouldn’t bring the place down a star cause I unbeknowestingly(is that a word?) visited it on a Restaurant Week night, and this is one of the many restaurants included. I didn’t realize this when i visited the restaurant. It was a Friday, nice weather. myself and my mom had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. When we were called, they sat us at a table right next to the door. It was cold. But okay. Within minutes we were waited on. This is the issues, it took over 50 minutes to receive our order. I literally almost left. Good lord! We waited, and watched while other people receive their order, and leave, and finally our one medium pepperoni/maple sausage/goat cheese/black olive pizza was bought to us. I ordered at 7:00 by 7:50, I was finally eating. that is way too long. I considered some wine, but that that would’ve made it a practically Restaurant Week special, and I wasn’t going to spend $ 33 for a meal. I love their pizza., it’s the best in Kansas City. But their service was slow, too slow. My original review said to visit before 5, and I find it difficult to visit before 5. It was crazy how busy they were, and slow.

Imani is the best! We kinda clogged a booth between services, and she seemed to love every second of it. Treated us like family. She was engaging and made sure we had what we needed. I had the buffet. I love pizza! What can I say? The variety is wonderful. Bacon from Local Pig! Always enjoy the salad bar, but miss the presence of bacon crumbles and feta!

I used to love Waldo Pizza, I have since not had the same great experiences. Last time we ordered pizza they left a topping off, I can live with that but the pizza was not good in general. I think it is time to look elsewhere for a better pie.
