My daughter and I recently dined at an Applebee’s in Lee’s Summit. When we got our check we noticed a charge of 99 cents for something we didn’t order. When we asked our waitress about it she said that we must have played a game (they bolt these black tablets on all of the tables). NO! We didn’t even touch it. She apologized and immediately issued another check. We also overheard people at 2 other tables questioning a 99 cent charge. Has this happened to anyone else? Applebee’s is probably hoping no one will notice this charge or, if they do, won’t question it because it’s small. Next time you go to an Applebee’s LOOK AT YOUR CHECK to be sure you’re not being charged for a video game you didn’t play. When we sat down, someone had already turned this black thing around. This is the first thing I do after I’m seated. It is distracting and very annoying to look at this bright flashing screen while you’re trying to have a conversation or eating. I wish they would remove these ugly things!

My experience at Applebee’s was surprising in several ways. I went in expecting a very average meal and experience and was surprised by the service and food. I ordered the cedar grilled lemon chicken with a side of rice (2520 mg of sodium) and a Cesar salad (490 mg of sodium). The flavor was very good but I noticed later that the sodium content for the dishes were super high… Yuck! The service was excellent. Drinks refilled rapidly, food delivered promptly and positive friendly vibe from all staff. Although the service was great, I wouldn’t visit this chain often due to the high sodium content in the food.

I ordered a mushroom swiss burger and sweet potato fries. Nothing was on the burger. Mushroom and cheese. Half the fries where cold and the rest where burnt. I wonder how they managed that.
On a good note… service with a smile and prompt.

My favorite Applebees, they truly treat you like your a friend here. The manager is kind and always takes time to say hi.

Terrible service on a night when the place was almost empty. No Check Backs! No Water Refills! Had to flag down another waitress to return my meal. Served a sirloin that was seared but rare and cold in the middle. Manager came out to tell me it just seemed cold because of the toppings they put on it. Got it right the second time, but will not return to this location. #FAIL

Breaking bread’ should not mean you have to use the side of the table.”
