This is the only BBQ joint in Lee’s Summit worth travelling for. The burnt ends and brisket have great texture and flavor, along with just the right amount of fat. The smoke of hickory and oak give it a great visible smoke ring that really drives the flavir home. The sausage is good, not the best but not bad. The pulled pork is moist and flavorful and has a great smoke to it also. The portiins are healthy and the sides are quite good too. The beans have a great smoke to them and the perfect amount of sweet and spice. The slaw is creamy and sweet, a little too sweet for my taste but Im a savory guy. The onion rings, tots, and fries are all what you would expect at a BBQ joint, just there to compliment the meat(kinda Pippen to Jordan situation). Try this place and you will be hooked too.

Burn end dinner was good. Love the cheesy corn. Rib basket yum. I’ve eaten here several times.

Dry brisket, and pulled pork that seemed either uncooked or simply low grade meat. Neither had that moist«melt in your mouth» quality that good bbq should have. Sides were frozen/store bought. Service was unfriendly. Simple«hi» and a smile goes a long way.

We had burnt ends, baked beans and potato salad for dinner in Lee’s Summit. It was excellent. Burnt ends were very tender.

You have to love food trucks! Location, location, location no longer matters — it is all about the food! I first noticed Three Pigs a few months ago and waited to see if they stayed on that corner. When they did I figured they were worth a shot(the great thing about Kansas City is that one can be picky about BBQ) and was nicely surprised. I started with a simple burnt ends(a bench mark BBQ staple, if it is good than chances are that the rest will be) sandwich, beans, and a soft drink. Much to my surprise it was almost too much to eat in one sitting, full of flavor, and tender enough that there was no «ripping» of stringy meat — a true«eatable» sandwich! OK, so then it is on my go to list. Back a few days later and picked up a couple of full meals, kind of samplers with pulled pork, brisket, ribs, and more burnt ends. That set me up for slaw and potato salad as sides. I will simplify this and say that I was more than satisfied with all the meat offerings, the sauce was pure Kansas City, and the sides fine(none stood out, but all the sides were acceptable). The prices were well within an acceptable range for a food truck, with the only drawback being that there really isn’t any place to sit and eat near there. But access to that corner lot is good from any direction, and there is space for a number of cars to park. Speed of serving is much better than you get at most any«fast food» place along 291, you do get that personal touch feeling. No, it is not Q-39, Joe’s Kansas City, or even Gates, but it is well worth the price and about as easy to get to as you can get. For now it is my choice for carry out BBQ!

First off it’s a food truck so it’s carry out only. I’ve only had the beef sandwich and the ribs and both were great. I’ve had the beef brisket sandwich twice and both times felt I got my money’s worth. As of today a beef sandwich and a side is right at $ 7.00 including tax. I don’t recall what I paid for the slab of ribs but I do recall they were great. When I don’t feel the need to use sauce and there are none left to eat cold the next day that’s a great rib. I have yet to try pulled pork, burnt ends, etc but I intend to. Maybe someday they’ll get a brick and mortar location. They are as good as the better bbq joints in the area and better than most. I’ll save the 5th star until then.
