Had the gator tail appetizer and it was delicious. Ordered the catfish and my hubby had the shrimp poboy, super yummy! Will def come again.

Absolutely love this place. Every time we go we are very happy. The food is amazing and the staff is so wonderful. They keep this place very clean and comfortable. We love going to Swiggs during the day with our two year old or for a date night alone. It’s a great atmosphere and restaurant.

We must have hit them on a slow night, as it was pretty empty and quiet. It looks like it has the potential to rock on the weekends! Great beer selection! I am not a «cajun» fan, but I ordered the Shrimp Creole and loved it! Very friendly staff with quick service!

Chits burger was fantastic! It has everything I like — grease, butter, onion ring, eggs, thick patty! I do not like their atmosphere, but it is alright. I hate fake-hipsters but whatever. Their poboys are alright. their jambalaya? or some sort of fried rice was bad. little over priced — but not too bad!

My husband and I ate here for a date night out and the food was salty. The tea tasted a little weird and the service is slow. Half of the time I was looking for my waitress! Not a happier camper and won’t be back for another meal!

Great atmosphere, good food, better than most lawton restaurants. Service is decent, they have a lot of young employees. Another reviewer noticed they over serve and I agree after going for the second time last night, I just hope they were responsible enough to call a cab for them. Other than that it really is a great place. Try the Nachos!

I was very hesitant to come here. Not the restaurant… but to Lawton. Known for the teen pregnancy and daddy issues, you can bet that when you come to Lawton the most common feeling to have is regret. However, there is an oasis in this town and that oasis is called Chits House of Cool. I grade them of 3 things: the meal, the service and the atmosphere. Let’s start with the last. When you walk in it looks really cool. Great décor and not something I’ve seen in this town before.(After being born and raised her for 25 years — they get all the cool stuff after I moved) very spacious and great decorations and seating. They even have a big stage for live music. The food was great! I had the crawfish pasta made in vodka sauce. It was outstanding. It was a really big portion and couldn’t eat it all. Even had a spicy kick to it which I loved. The service could use some work. I’ve seen other reviews about it saying very similar things. They were friendly but half the table didn’t get their food for about 20 minutes after the other half. All in all: I’ll come here again for sure. The other people in my party of 8 had been here before and had bad service. But for my first time it was mostly great. If you’re looking to get alway from the crabs at Dragon West and wanna have a good meal then give this place a try. You come for the gangs, but stay for Chits.

Let me start off by stating how great our service was. I was with a group traveling for work and there were 7 of us. Anytime anyone needed anything, our server was on top of it. The atmosphere is really cool too. I’m sure it’s great for live music. For the food, our table ordered a variety of dishes from ribs and brisket to catfish and pasta. We all had varied opinions of our dishes but overall were satisfied. I had the catfish and thought it was okay but was expecting filets and they were like catfish nuggets. Some were cooked more thoroughly than others. My coworker who ordered the ribs thought they were a bit too fatty. Everyone who had the dirty rice raved about it though. So, like I said, mixed opinions but worth giving it a try. Might be better for drinking and listening to live music more than going for dinner.

We had fried gator for app and was delicious especially when you squeeze the lemon over them and dip in the sauce. We both ordered bullfrog punch was fruity and good, comes I small mason jar. Fiancé wanted a bigger one(didn’t feel like a «man drink» in a small mason jar) hehe I ordered the«bull Chit» brisket was tender and delish, Mac and cheese and mash taters were good too. The choc chip cookie was perfect yum cause I always like a little something sweet after my meal ;) Fiancé had shrimp po-boy was good, hush puppies could have been a little less cooked and crawfish étouffée, he would have liked to be more spicy. I liked it but I don’t like spicy. Great service! waitress was exceptional, we will definitely be coming back :)

This is one of the best Cajun –not creole– places west of the Mississippi. Evidently these people know the difference. The only problem is their roux. Too much flour which makes it too thick. A good roux is 1 to 1. A cup of flour to one cup of oil. Spiced well. Their cocktail sauce is great! They have romulade sauce. Needed a bit more spice in the étouffée. Would be nice if you could ask for extra spice! The appetizer was alligator, crawfish, boudin balls and crab. It was great! If you want something close to louisiana Cajun you won’t find better in the area.

Our first time here and we were impressed with the interior of this establishment. It’s very big and spread out. If you’re anemic or get cold easily, please bring a sweater, I was freezing the entire time. The menu is a bit crowded but extensive. Everything from alligator balls and crab dip to crawfish étouffée and red beans and rice was available. Since my husband is from Louisiana he ordered the crawfish étouffée and the sample appetizer along with the fresh lemonade. I ordered JCs pasta(a kind of oily based angel hair pasta tossed with chicken, shrimp, and andouille sausage) with the lemonade. Our bill totaled almost $ 60 which is extreme and made this a place we would only visit on special occasions. I wasn’t thrilled about the pasta at all, as I said before, it was very oily and it seemed as if the seasoning was missing a bit of a kick. My husband was surprised by his meal and couldn’t stop saying«look at Lawton finally getting something right». I would have to agree, this place has a lot of establishments but they seems to fall way short of seasoning or maybe price point. The prices were high as well so don’t be surprised when ordering and you see double-digit figures throughout the menu. The lemonade is $ 2.25 but very tasty with free refills, the sample combo(gator balls, friend crawfish, and crab dip) is $ 16, the bread pudding is $ 5 and not very tasty at all. I actually make my own and I honestly could say mine is a lot better. JCs pasta is $ 12, crawfish étouffée is $ 11; however they do have lunch specials that are all $ 8. I think I will try those next year once we receive our tax return and able to afford it(that’s a joke) :-) Enjoy my fellow Unilocalers!

Food tastes okay and portions are small. That said prices are set VERY high and I expected excellent tasting food or at least larger portions for the prices charged. I ordered the«Blackened Alligator Tail»(tasted okay, but I like«Pearls» in OKC much better and even though it costs the same, you get a much larger portion at «Pearls»). I ordered the«Swamp Combo», and again tasted okay but I think that the portion should have been larger to compensate for the high cost. And I ordered the«Crawfish Etoufee» as a main course and was VERYDISAPPOINTED in both taste and WAYHIGH price for the small portion served. The crawfish were WAY over cooked so much so that they were in little balls. I made comparisons to «Pearls» in OKC. I have no affiliation with them other than as a customer when I find myself in OKC carving Cajun. The service was GREAT and the management REALLY cared for and about their customers. I was very impressed with that(but that does not in my opinion make up for the high price/small portion/okay tasting food). I am not writing this place off yet. I will wait six months to see if they are able to get to where I believe that they need to be then I will try them again. Hopefully enough customers will complain about the cost to portion ratio to encourage«Chits» to correct the portion ratio or make it taste so great that I won’t care about the portion size. This is all my personal opinion and I realize that I may seem a bit pretentious. I am glad that Lawton is FINALLY getting more than just fast food places to eat at. I like the variety and I am not afraid to pay top dollar for high quality food. But the quality and portions MUST match the check at the end of the experience. Keep at it management, I look forward to spending my money there in six months while enjoying great Cajun food experience! I have checked with a lot of my friends also who have gone there and tried«Chit’s» menu. Almost every single one of them agrees with what I posted here.
