This is a loss. This was a great, affordable place to eat outside when the weather was nice. Site is for sale. Hopefully someone will revive Stewart’s in Lawrence.

So disappointed that they seem to have closed for good. I’ve been going to Stewart’s every summer since I was a kid. Drove by the other day and saw the For Sale sign and general disrepair of the building and parking lot. We asked last summer if they’d still open this year if they hadn’t sold the place yet and they said they would, but it’s not looking good. :(

Sadly I think this location has closed. I went there on 5÷3÷2015 after calling and getting a message the phone was disconnected. The parking lot had chains across the entrance and there is a commercial real estate for sale sign over the Stewart’s logo.

Classic drive in. Nice people. Veggie burgers for us vegetarians! A perfect slice of America in New Jersey!

the original owner sold the business in 207 however his sons have continued his tradition and turns out great drive in food with each order, plus their root beer is to die for, went in yesterday and got a huge meal for 2 for a bit more than 20 bucks and it was just outstanding, granted i have to drive a distance to get there but it is worth the trip, you should try it sometime soon

still the best for ROOTBEER! cold mugs filled with that great tasty-as I remember it– sweet frothy brew… that hasnt changed. the cheeseburger was as it has been also-not the giant sloppy burger that has become today’s staple and that is fine… the hot dog was tasty, juicy but couldve used a bit moe saurkraut. condiment tray was perfectly arranged. chicken nuggets were tasty white meat without the greasy aftertaste Ive experienced elsewhere. Had not stopped there in years, but happily found it to still be among the best in the original fast food world. We dont always need all those super duper places. I felt like I was in the 1950’s there… but the service and the food was exactly like it should be for such nostalgia. just must remember NO credit cards allowed!!! Hey, they used real money back in the 50’s and it was good enough for them!

Root beer! Great place to grab a quick bite with the kids. Food is cooked to order, and is better than any other Stewarts I have frequented.

it was the root beer that saved the visit! The food was average. I think we got a chili cheese dog, some type of cheeseburgers, and onion rings. All of which were seemingly prepered right then, but the quality was just average. The root beer and root beer floats are what were the hits. Oh, and they have root beer to go in sizes up to a gallon. SWEET!
