Pretty old-school for the money. The interior seems to have been recently upgraded to modern Hampton Inn standards. But the room doors opening to the parking lot, the grungy walks and balconies, and worn breakfast area leave a lot to be desired. This place did, however, have the best shower water pressure we found on a recent two-week road trip to Texas.

I have stayed here before and the rooms were dated and this property is one of the old school«motor lodges» where you park adjacent to your room. I had not stayed here for a while and was pleasantly surprised the rooms had been updated with new carpet, furniture and 42″ TV. It still is a little weird having cars parked right outside your room but for the price you can’t beat this property.

The hubby and I stayed here last night on our way to Dallas. The room was very nice and the bed was so comfy. The best part was the free breakfast. Eggs, fresh fruit, hot waffles, and a ton of other items too. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. We did hear the freight trains like a couple the other reviewers but they weren’t loud. I totally recommend this place for a good hotel room at a very decent price.

Not what I have come to expect from a Hampton Inn. Did the Hilton folks have a good look here before allowing this franchise in? Staff was perfectly nice, standard Hampton Inn breakfast, but rooms blah, internet quality poor, no business center. There are 2 La Quinta’s nearby. The one nearest to this Hampton is nicer. Not the one across the street, the one behind it next to Wal-Mart.

Originally I would give this place 0 stars if that were an option, but in all fairness they deserve a 1. So we called and had a reservation and when we arrived checking was quick and easy, they even had a list of good local restaurants. So we went to eat first… When we got to our room it looked pleasant and clean and that is the extent of the good. The hotel has free wifi, but we could only get one of our laptops to connect to the network. The hotel is right off the expressway and near railroad tracks. The walls are paper thin and I did not get 1 minute worth of sleep. In addition to the traffic and train whistles, the compressor on the refrigerator was loud, there is a bright orange light that flashes on the hairdryer. The one star(besides the fact there is no zero) is for the Hampton 100% satisfaction policy that you don’t have to pay if you are not 100% satisfied, I was about 1% satisfied.

Undergoing renovations during this visit, the new bed was very comfortable. My room faced the street and so had noticeable traffic noise until about 10PM, but was quite enough through the night. The unforgivable was the sweet odor of bug spray noticeable upon check in. But since it was late and no other rooms available I stayed and grew accustomed to the smell. Did have a good nights rest.
