I have visited Delta Blue several times on both visits to Lake Placid. This is a good place to drink and listen to live music. i have never been impressed with the food. It’s decent but not some place I want to eat daily. It’s located in the newly renovated Northwoods Hotel. They have a pool table but it always seems to commandeer by kids. I have never had any issues with service.

Alright alright. we’re not walking into a Gordon Ramsy restaurant I get it. this isn’t exactly a place for some fine dining… however nor is it a place for just some good food. We came in when it was roughly -30 °F outside. so basically any place indoors was a good idea. The menu is very extensive. however the bigger the menu not necessarily the better, contrary to that being true in other cases… We ordered the chili and the chicken ceasar wrap to share. I’ll be honest. my favorite part were the lays potato chips that were considered a «side» to the wrap. The chili was definitely from a big slop can and the chicken ceasar came with that weird chicken you see packaged and cut up in the cheese/deli section of the supermarket. The service was friendly… the fireplace was warm. and the food was good in the way that canned soup and subway sandwhiches are good. Overall, I think people come here to drink cheap beer, play pool, and maybe watch live bands in the corner of the restaurant.

I guess if you’ve never had good BBQ before this would be adequate. We had the gator bites for an appetizer and the sauce was great but the gator itself was overpowered by the breading because they were so small, and less than ½ cup of bites for $ 17? Service was pretty good with how busy they were. However my brisket was still a little chewy and had probably been kept warm for an extended amount of time. The pulled pork was mush, and my meal was served with slices of bread right from the bag. I’d expect this in some traditional BBQ’s but this isn’t one of those, c’mon, throw some cornbread in the oven early in the day. My wife had the catfish poorboy, which was well seasoned and tasty but the fish had probably been frozen before as it didn’t flake, it fell apart. Good thing the music was good.

Waitress was a b&tch when we were waiting for a table, no organization, waitress messed up the drink order since they did not know the difference between pinot gris and pinot noir. Vanessa Collier was great on sax though. Small place and no cover charge so good value other than the insolence. Pillars are not well placed and block view of the stage from some seats.

The place is nice and most of the wait staff was as well. One large blond waitress was a bitch. No other word really works. So I say go but just beware. Beer was fresh and draft was well served and good with a good selection but no stouts or porters. If you are a porter fan you might enjoy the Ubu ale.

First time in Lake Placid. We were here over the Christmas season. We were here 5 nights and ended up at Delta Blue the last night. None of the restaurants in Lake Placid have good service. Everyplace lacks a foundation of service do with that in mind our service at Delta Blue was better than most. Wings were fabulous! We got them well done and they were perfect! The shrimp and grits were great, not a «southern style» more tomato based but very good! I’d come again and recommend it!

First time in Lake placid we decided to stop at delta blue to have dinner, a drink & play some pool. The bar was filled with kids under 10 playing and running the pool table. No one took acknowledgement to them fooling around and making a mess. Then the food was served the ribs were so burnt and smothered with bbq sauce to hide the burntness & it was over priced for a sports bar. definitely wouldn’t recommend it.

I ordered the Memphis BBQ burger, it was good but my husband ordered chicken fried steak. Omg! Enough for two people to split, it was the best dinner I have ever had. I highly recommend ordering it

The sign outside noted they had buy one get one half off apps on Thursdays so we stopped in. There was a cool blues band playing for free and it was a very relaxed atmosphere. The wings were very large and worth the 10 bucks and we also got the fried pickles which had a delicious sauce. The only reason this joint isn’t getting 4 or 5 stars is the place is pretty dirty and they messed up our bill. The ceiling fans had an inch of dirt on them. The apps rung up regular price and we didn’t realize until we already paid.

Besides being the coolest place in Lake Placid they have delicious food and this is coming from a foodie New Yorker ! First off, there’s live music(blues) at night. Even if you chose to sit outdoors and eat you can hear the band very well. There’s also nights for open mike which draws a lot of local talent. The town is very dog friendly and since I was staying in the hotel right by the restaurant I ate here a few nights in a row. Fantastic chicken wings and fried pickles. Shrimp with sauce with grits was a very tasty and creative dish. Cobb salad was also very large and didn’t skimp on any ingredients. Good dressing. Only down side is that if you want to hang a bit longer for the music they really don’t do desert. Coffee wasn’t great. Not that they push you out. No pressure if you want to sit and hang.

Oh dear. I had wished for better given the look and feel of the place but I think the place suffers a bit from overall coordination and service. Though the food isn’t spectacular, it was worth the price for the most part. Let start with the food. The calamari came out perfectly cooked. The shrimp(of the shrimp and grits) was also cooked appropriately. Gator bites were a tad overdone(a bit chewy versus what I’ve had) but flavorful. The gumbo looked great but lacked a depth of flavor that I am used to getting in New Orleans or any other establishment that serves creole/Cajun cuisine. French onion soup was actually pretty good as was the pulled pork sandwich(from the kids menu). Service is where it falls of the rails. Right In the middle of taking our drink order the server excuses herself to go tend to a birthday cake for another guest. I can actually forgive that but then it takes another 10 minutes to get our order. Then my wife order a sparkling water and the server never fills the order. She admitted to thinking my wife was making fun of the ice water being served(!!!). Our food is like 30 minutes out and all during that time our server is no where in sight. We had to approach the hostess to see what was up. Seriously — French onion soup, calamari, these things take 30 minutes?! It was probably actually longer. Naturally after requesting our check, that took another 15 minutes. If I were the owner i’d be thinking that server could’ve squeezed out 50% more revenue in drinks and turned that table 30 minutes sooner if the service was better.

We ate lunch here and wondered why all of restaurants in town were packed yet Delta Blue had no more than 5 tables filled. We all tried to order the safest things on the menu. Caesar salads, chicken wings, hot dogs and burgers are hard to mess up however they did. They managed to get hair in the de thawed fries and calamari and burn the slice of American cheese on the burger. Overall, the food was disgusting and the service was average.

Stopped by when we needed to grab lunch. Food was acceptable. Service was courteous, but slow. Not a good option for a quick bite. The dining area was in desperate need of cleaning, even though it seemed like a quiet day for them. The popcorn at the table made the waiting a bit easier but didn’t help the already messy ambiance. Definitely a good option to dine outside if possible. Don’t expect we will return if we stop in town again, it felt like many better options are right down main.

Atmosphere is crappy but the food(especially the burgers) is really good. We had no problem with service, and left stuffed and happy.

Walked in and a girl greeted us. We told her we wanted to sit on the patio she said ok we went out and sat at an empty table. Sat there for 15 minutes and no one came. Went in to order drinks from the bar and the bartender said she would send someone out. Sat there for another 5 – 10 minutes and nothing. Even though a server was helping others on the patio. Finally another guy just looked out and we asked him for a server. He sent out the original girl that we talked to when we walked in the door who told us we had to go to the bar to order drinks. At that point we got up and left. Get your act together.

Delta Blue is a creole-themed restaurant on Main Street in Lake Placid(located on the first floor of the Hotel Northwoods). We’ve dined here numerous times, usually our first night in town because we’re exhausted and looking for a pet-friendly patio to grab a quick bite. It’s not the best food you’ll eat but you’ll walk away full. Check out the secret black bobsled for a photo op in the hallway between Delta Blue and the Cabin Grill! Pros: –Great location on Main Street(perfect people watching) –Pet friendly patio with 5 – 6 tables –Lots of live music performances, fun crowd –Some of the menu items have been delicious, but some have really missed the mark –Pretty diverse menu –Not usually a wait –Lots of drink specials on different nights(Sunday=$ 5 Mimosas and Blood Marys, Wednesday=$ 2.50PBR tall boys) Cons: –Service is consistently slow –Interior is in need of a major makeover/facelift(hopefully coming soon as the rest of Northwoods has recently been redone) –Food can be hit or miss

I went to Lake Placid to run the Marathon. I got there sort of late and I was hungry. I wanted to load up on carb, but we walked into the first one we came across, because my son was too hungry to walk further. Southern style sounded innocuous to me, because I had some incredible gumbos in my college years. Oh boy. What a regret. It was greasy. It was salty beyond belief. The pulled pork and brisket was slathered with so much BBQ sauce that I could hardly tell if I was eating beef or pork. At least my son enjoyed his burger… but where can you go wrong with a burger, right?

Don’t be swayed by good reviews… this place is terrible. Walked in to a dining room with one or two tables occupied. It took about 10 mins for the weight staff to stop talking among themselves long enough for someone to come seat us. They sat us at the least stable table I’ve ever sat at anywhere. The waitress did promptly bring over some mini-doorstop wedges to shore up the table so it wouldn’t rock uncontrollably with 3 full sized men leaning on it. We ordered a round of drinks and an app(nachos). Drinks came and went, when the app came out she took our next drink order(we opted to just get a pitcher). Beer didn’t come until we were finished with our app and then we were informed that we had tapped the keg at half a pitcher so we had to pick another beer for the other half of a pitcher, no big deal, but the first beer was a light wheat beer and the second beer we got a darker lager; we were not given clean glasses when we switched types of beer. In fact we finished our first beers and stared at the half pitcher poured sitting on the side of the bar for our waitress to bring it over for several mins(again the place was not bust at all!!!) but the weight staff couldn’t stop talking among themselves in the back corner long enough for out server to appropriately do her job. I had the chicken fried steak, which was chewy and not appetizing in the least bit. I assume the steak was frozen up until I ordered my meal. Lastly we left the waitress a tip to reflect her terrible service(5%) and when we get up to leave she runs out of the restaurant after us to confront us on why we left her a bad tip. We told her it was because she was a bad waitress and her tip reflected the job she did, which she did not find acceptable. In hindsight we should’ve marched right back in there and spoken to her manager. What right does she have to complain to a customer outside of the restaurant because they left her a bad tip. I consider myself a good tipper, usually 20%+ unless the waitstaff has done something exceptionally bad then their tip has to reflect that. I have worked in the culinary industry and have held jobs that get tips before and when you are in those kind of positions your service directly effects your tip. I will never go here ever again. I’m sure I will be in Lake Placid again but I will try any of the other numerous places they have to eat there because this place is TERRIBLE on all accounts. Food is bad, service is bad, and the beer selection is nothing special.

A dining experience gone horribly wrong. Food: None of our food could be described as edible but I want to to focus in on the Gumbo which was ordered by two of us. This«featured» dish resembled cat food mixed with discount canned gravy. The dish was served with a crusty film that first had to be punctured to access the food underneath. A dollop of minute rice on top was matched by a dollop of salt which left the eaters severely dehydrated. Bill: While nothing is worse than having to pay a hefty amount for uneaten meals, the logistics quickly become unbearably drawn out. We received not one but two incorrect bills. After another five minute wait we did our own calculations, left cash and walked out. Eat there at your own risk.

Stopped in for an early dinner. We were seated outside and it was beautiful. My buddy ate the brisket and I had the burger+pulled pork. We shared a Poutine. The food was delicious and I was very happy with their selection of local brews. I had a Stout(forgot the name) but it was strong and exactly what I wanted. Don’t be swayed by bad reviews — this place is excellent!
