I’ve had much better! Server was very nice. Food is not good at all. Even the kids grilled cheese was horrible. View is amazing.

Tasteless, old, dry, prepared LOOONG in advance and probably reheated(not very well) in a microwave, expensive food in a dilapidated restaurant that, I am guessing has not seen a renovation in 20? years. Pros? Beautiful view from the terrance and a waiter that really tried to make it a good experience. 1 star for the waiter and view negative 5 stars for the rest.

One star for the view. Two for the staff. The drinks were strong and well made. Place was dead and we got waited on quick the staff were very friendly and sociable. The staff were able to provide info about local hiking trails and history of the lake. Wasn’t a fan when some woman who we assumed was a supervisor or manager approached our table and barked a demand at the wait staff when the server at our request was answering some questions about Local history. Extremely unprofessional and inexcusably rude.

My first time to Lake George and I had to stop in with my girlfriend to grab dinner and check out the fireworks. Atmosphere was great with a live band. Wings were really good. She had the pulled pork and I had the meatball sub. I’d order again everything again. If they toast the bread a little more on the sub and maybe put it on garlic bread it would be awesome. The service was great… our waiter Brian was knowledgable, fast and took good care of us Watching the fireworks on the deck is just perfect. We will definitely be back.

Great view of the lake but the reason for the ample deck seating is the sub par food Got the baby back ribs… $ 22 and didn’t even come with a side. As for the ribs they might as well call it «plate of sauce» Definitely a last resort if the other restaurants are full up

We are here now. The view is FAB! but what a dump! We waited a ½ hour for 2 beers and the bartender ignored us. We finally got waited on by a nice guy and are enjoying the view. We will NOT be ordering food here, looks horrible :(

Beautiful view! Services was friendly and prompt. We ordered the steamed clams. We ended up with 14, 13 perfectly opened. We got the Rachel and pastrami sandwich. Both were very nice. We ordered a basket of fries on the side for $ 5, a nice portion to split.

This place is miserable. I wish I read the other reviews before going. There was a really good musician playing on the upper deck and there was a good view. That is all Shepard’s Cove has going for it. We ate outside in the lower deck which was in need of some work. The local beer we ordered tasted funny and came in a plastic cup. When our food arrived, our daughters grilled cheese wasn’t ready. The waitress said she forgot to put her order in. Not sure how this happens when she wrote the order down. I had the veggie burger. It was something out of a box from the grocery store. My wife had sad fish tacos. Neither came with any sides. When we asked about sides, the waitress brought cole slaw which we each took a bite of and never had any more. My daughters grilled cheese came with soggy chips and a floppy pickle that looked like they had cut in half. Skip this place. There are better places in Lake George.

Terrible and overpriced. Out of eight people at our table, not one was happy with their food. My daughter’s burger was the consistency of sawdust and didn’t come with anything. Just a piece of old shoe leather on a bun served in a greasy basket. No fries, no chips. Nothing. My fish and chips was so greasy, it was inedible. Don’t even consider this place if you’re looking for a pint of decent beer, either. They had bottled beer only and here’s a sample of their offerings: Bud, Bud Light, Coors, Coors Light, another crappy domestic and the crappy light version of it, etc. As others have mentioned, the view is nice, but then again, lots of places on Lake George have a nice view. One last note, the place was also filthy and outdated. Gordon Ramsey couldn’t save it. Stay away. Deserves zero stars.

AMAZINGVIEW but that about it. Walked in to 4 servers just standing around, had to go up to one of them to figure out where to sit. Food was gross and service wasn’t much better. We were one of 5 tables in there and it took forever to get a turkey club and nachos where the cheese wasn’t even melted all the way. Stay away

Great place to eat I you want to spend your entire vacation waiting for your food. A Saturday afternoon and the place was almost empty. Ordered fish and chips and a pastrami sandwich and fifty minutes later still no food. The help didn’t seem to care. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Skip this place! Waiter was friendly, but actual food service was slow, forgetful, and full of excuses. Restaurant was dirty and dingy, and seating was on rickety patio furniture. Based on the atmosphere, we tried basic food(Burger and Fish Tacos) which came out quickly. Taste was bland and subpar. Prices reflect that of a much nicer restaurant, I recommend you visit those other places. Even my bottle of beer had a funny smell, that of dog shampoo. Continue one block either way and your dining experience will be much better.

Absolutely terrible. Seat yourself so we sat outside on the patio for 15 minutes while the 4 servers just followed each other around talking and dancing. Needless to say we got up and left with no service.

Bad food asked before we were seated if they could make our food the way we wanted. They of course said yes. Our food comes out so bad wings under done so we send them back for our waiter to come and tell us now there is a 45 minute wait. Thank god we had a great waiter and he went and made some of our food himself. Nacho were nasty and wings were the worst we had! Will not ever go back for food plus there was feces on the bath room door in the lady’s room.

This place is probably up there with one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. We were reeled in by the view, that’s about all they have going for them and I suspect the only reason they have patrons, nobody would ever make this mistake twice. First off, it took forever for the waitstaff to acknowledge our presence and bring us drinks. Finally when they did come over they took the orders of the people around us, who had gotten there after us, first. We ordered nachos, fish and chips, and something called the neapolitan. We were told about 20 minutes later in passing that they did not have the neapolitan, which was fine, but they didn’t even come to our table to tell us that or give us any other options. They did however bring us refills of our sodas every once in a while, the downside is they didn’t tell us refills weren’t free, the drinks were also very watery… Anyway time passes, a rainstorm comes and goes, people start finishing meals and new people sit down but we still don’t have our food. The orders they took before us, who sat down after us, get their food and finish before we get food. They finally tells us that they are really sorry, our next round of sodas will be free(yep thats 4 refills in when we are told they weren’t free), and that the nachos are coming up but the kitchen is still cooking the fish and chips. The big moment arrives where nachos are placed down in front of us just as we realize that our meter for the car is about to expire, and one of us has to go and put more money in it.(We had put 1 hour and 39 mins on the meter, we walked in here about 15 minutes after parking.) DINGDINGDING that is a WHOPPING1HOURAND25MINUTES for the saddest looking nachos we had ever seen. Literally I should have taken a picture of them, they were also burnt, like significantly burnt, like a child threw some shredded cheese over a handful of tortilla chips and forgot about them in the oven. By this point there are tables around us who came in maybe 30 minutes or more behind us who are starting to receive their food. We start to wonder if it’s us, if this is some trick, if John Quiñones is testing our patience. Finally the empty nachos plate is whisked away and the fish and chips are there, this is 1 hour and 40 minutes in. Now there was nothing terribly off putting at first glance about the fish and chips, until we cut into one of the two cutlets of fish. It’s a little hard to explain but there was a very thick layer of fried outer«shell» that had to have at least a couple of centimeters around it there were not actually touching the fish; like there was space between the fish and the fried part. There was also what seemed to be a layer of non-fried batter on the actually fish piece. I’m no chef so I don’t know what processes one has to take to fry a fish, but what I came up with is that the first layer didn’t fry so they just coated it again and fried it again, or that they threw the fish in too cold to the frier and it pulled away from the fish and left uncooked parts. Whatever happened, it was nasty. By this point we just wanted to pay our bill and leave, but as you can imagine that was a slow and painful process as well. The waitstaff finally made it over, but they seemed really flustered and upset. We asked them what was up and they said management sucked in this place, and that they were really sorry it took so long, but that the manager runs the kitchen and could care less what the waiters are having to deal with when food service is slow. They said in this place it’s ridiculous for fries to take 15 minutes while they are standing their waiting for them. They also told us that people leave constantly without paying before their food is done because of how long it takes but that it comes out of the waiters pay. They said management just cares about money and nothing else. Needless to say we felt bad for the person, but we couldn’t wait to leave. Basically don’t ever go here, you’ll wait too long for disgusting food, and pay $ 55 bucks because you wanted to stare at a lake, even the waitstaff thinks it’s horrible…

If only there were an option for ZEROSTARS!!! This was quite possibly the worst dining experience ever. I went with my girlfriend during the winter festival on the lake. We asked for a table near a window to see the lake and instead we were sat next to a back window with a view of their crappy summer furniture in storage and a rusty chain link fence. The«clean» table we were placed at was filthy with crumbs and stains. I ordered a coffee to warm up and for $ 2.50 you get a crappy cup of instant coffee in a styrofoam cup. The diet Pepsi my girlfriend ordered was completely flat. This was after we were told a new canister was changed in the soda machine. These people have no business serving food or beverages. None.

Great view but the slowest service possible. I saw so many waiters standing around huddled in the corner waiting for bartenders to make drinks. Our waitress informed us that the bar was short staffed by two bartenders. How are you short bartenders on July 4th weekend? That makes no sense! What made it worse was that I saw a manager looking figure standing around and goofing around with the staff instead of helping out the bartenders. Prices are fair but the slow service ruined it.
