Christie’s On the Lake

First of all the menu was small. we ordered a home made crab cake on a bun with chips and a chicken Cesar salad. both where great! Service was great.

I am very displeased with the lack of service. I looked forward to coming here because of the great menu and amazing view of the lake. My military father, boyfriend, and I came here on Memorial Day at about 6pm when the place was not very busy. We asked to be seated on the upstairs deck, where there were a couple of open seats. The hostess kept telling us «I’ll seat you in a moment,» but we were not seated until approximately 5 minutes of waiting. Once seated, NOT ONE waiter approached us; not even to say «I’ll be right with you.» At least three different waitresses walked right passed us and stopped at the three tables around us but avoided eye contact with us. After over 15 minutes of absolutely no acknowledgement from anyone, we got up and left. As we were getting up to leave, the hostess who sat us just 15 minutes prior saw us leave but didn’t even ask if we had been served or anything. In fact, she didn’t even say a word. She just quickly walked inside.
I will be sure NEVER to come back here again. We ended up going to The Shoreline and got EXCELLENT service there!

There was good service with the waitresses but the deck is just so dirty. Spider webs every where and through our dinner I had a spider on my leg. It’s all plastic chairs and tables. Nothing crazy. It’s okay view. I got the «pasta a la vodka» and it was so bland I took three bites and stopped eating it. Just okay…

Went there for a late lunch, early dinner. Based on the other reviews we would have skipped Christie’s, but a friend who works nearby said the food was good and of course the view is fantastic. The service was friendly and attentive and the food was yummy. We had the lobster rolls and while it was a little different, it was very good and we had a heads up from the waitress about the nature of the lobster roll. A little surprised about the chips on the side as fries would have been more appropriate for a $ 15 sandwich. The peach margaritas were top notch. Service was very friendly! View was fantastic!

Despite a somewhat packed restaurant we were served reasonably quickly, and the view of the lake is pleasant.
We had the fish sandwich (fried, adequate), and the turkey and brie sandwich (bland, mediocre). The onion rings were hit and tasty! Come for the lake side tables, not for the lunch.

We just swung in for a beer. They have some nice local selections and scenic views of the lake from their outdoor seating area.

Great food! Had the shrimp scampi and was very good. Also tried the calamari and was great too. Fantastic service! Was a little concerned with the previous ratings but overall great, fast experience.

It’s all about the setting and view. If you go there for that, you’ll be happy. If you go there for that AND good food, you’ll be disappointed. Service is slow but the staff was friendly. The waitress forgot our drinks and we had to remind her. The lunch entrées came out in a reasonable amount of time. I had the Cuban sandwich. It was nothing like a Cuban, more like a club sandwich. My wife had the mozzarella sticks. Cheese was very chewy, not soft at all. The glass of wine was decent size and the draft beer was cold.

The guy at the door, with a huge beard and lots of tattoos, was extremely rude, to top it off when we let the server know about it she just blew it off stating that he wouldn’t be there in a month. When we were coming in he asked us for an ID (when the place was full of families, including children). Why would I need an ID if I’m going to a restaurant where there’s children. So when I asked him he raised his voice and said, «They’re families, can’t you see?» Of course I can see, that’s why I was asking. And why say that when I was with my family? Was it cause I’m gay so my family doesn’t count? I think so.

I got there before they opened. The ladies were great and let me hang out. Even parked my bike.
Great service. Great food.
Very much enjoyed my quiet lunch on he lake.

Food and service were great! Nice menu and the seating on the water was beautiful! Would definitely go again.

Terribly rude– we (a family of five — with our mother and mother in law) were forced to leave to find another restaurant. The owner was arrogant, condescending and truly did not want our business. Clearly he does not understand the premise of customers or reviews.

Really good views of Lake George… Typical pub far, had Texas burger which was cooked to perfection and the Korean tacos were also tasty, with the just right amount of spice… Wait staff were friendly and courteous…

Worst restaurant. Don’t come. Waited 80 minutes for our food once the order was placed. Food came and it sucked. Small portions and takes like frozen food heated up in the microwave. I should have read the other reviews first. The location is good which is the only positive thing.

Went to Christies on the Lake with two friends. Got seated within few mins with menu. Appetizers after 15mins wait and waited for almost an hr for the entrees. At one point, we told the waitress we will just pay the appetizers and our drinks and leave. She kept telling us our foods are at the window. It took her another ten mins to bring the unsatisfying and unappetizing dishes to our table from the window. By the way, our dishes are nothing like the descriptions on the menu. Overall, it was an extremely unpleasant experience. If you really want the view, better off get a cold cut sandwich and eat at the park next door. Better food and better view of the lake at the park than at the restaurant.

I was completely underwhelmed. My wife and I were looking for a place to eat on the lake so that we could enjoy the view. The view is the only thing going for this place. We waited for 10 minutes to be seated in the empty restaurant and then sat for another 10 minutes before a waitress came and took our drink orders. My beer was flat.
We ordered fish and chips and the pasta alla vodka. The fish was a frozen slab of haddock, think large fish stick. My pasta was served with warm shrimp that had just came out of the microwave. It took forever and tasted awful. We should’ve eaten at a hot dog cart, at least then I might have been pleasantly surprised.

I see why it has a 2 star rating. Slow and mediocre food at best. My children got individual pizza and they didn’t like it when a 6 year old doesn’t like your pizza something is wrong. I got a fish sandwich that was gross the fish was small overcooked next time we will skip this and try someplace else

Very rude — to the point that we had to leave and find another restaurant. Maybe it was a bad day but wow, not a good experience at all.

The chicken fingers were good, nice thin light batter. Burgers and French fries were good too… No complaints;)

Stopped in for drinks and an appetizer. Had to get the wait staffs attention, then they were rude because we flagged them down.
We didn’t even want to stay after having our drinks! I ordered the strawberry limeade on their menu, came with a torn up strawberry and no ice! So gross, I couldn’t even drink it.
Bottom line: Won’t be going back
