Now you get a professional review, for free, here on Unilocal. Thing is, I was supposed to be paid to review my stay at the Super 8 Knoxville West. But more than a year later, they(Freeman Group, a mystery-shopping company, not Super 8 or Wyndham Group) haven’t paid me. So now you get to see what the pros are supposed to check out.(I’ll skip over the technical details I was supposed to review, like whether the initial phone call was answered with«Blah blah blah, blah blah blah blah!») THEBUILDINGSANDGROUNDS. I found both clean. The parking lot was well-lit. In the hallways, I found some bagged trash by the trash cans, as if it were ready to take out. But it was still there the next morning. THELOBBY, FRONTDESK, PUBLICAREAS, ANDSERVICE. The lobby was well-kept, but the ATM machine was not working. The hotel manager was actively involved in getting it fixed(remember, this is a year ago). I could hear her on the phone with tech support. The public restroom in the lobby area was clean. Service at the front desk was best described as «apologetic» at the time, since it happened to be that guy’s first day. Questions about directions to local sites, or Wyndham Resort policies, were better referred to management. Can’t blame the new guy too much. THEROOM. Which is what most folk care about, right? I had a stringent checklist to review: is the mirror glass clean? Are the pillows fresh? Are there any signs of mold or hair in the shower/tub? Did the furnishings look new and undamaged? Did the TV remote work? Etc. Etc. And I can report that yes, the room actually passed the checklist at 100%, the only part of my report that did so. Again: ROOM, 100%. THE ‘DAYBREAK’ BREAKFAST. This is an extremely important feature to Wyndham’s down-market chains(Super 8, Days Inn, Knights Inn). The breakfast nook at this location was better than most that I have reviewed, with nice furnishings and a widescreen TV to check the news or weather. They offered regular and decaf coffee, at least two kinds of juice(including apple for the kids), at least three kinds of cereal, and danishes and donuts. Here, they took a knock for something: it’s a year ago, but I think it may have been, the milk was not on ice. UPSHOT: This was a pretty good economic stay. On the whole, it was safe, clean, and easy to deal with. The actual room passed its own checklist by 100%. You can’t do better. Most of the demerits I recorded a year ago had to do with the one fellow being new on his job.

This place was BAD!!! Like BAAAAAADDD! I have never seen ANY hotel like this before! The parking lot was FULL of truckers and super super shady looking people. In fact, as we were getting into our room two guys stared me down the ENTIRE time! Then when we got into the room, there was cockroaches and it was DIRTY and smelly! We decided for our safety to GO far faaaaaaaar away! So when we asked for our money back and told them how gross it was in the room, the lady said«Oh no no there is no cockroaches, and no one has ever complained about that room». Ya right!!! Do yourself a favor and stay far far away from this place! Bad room, and BAD customer service!!!

Stay far away from this place. Got in the room only to find some type of liquid running down the walls in 3 different places and bugs in the shower. Had to be moved to a different room. Next room just as bad. Cobwebs everywhere and you could see the parking lot under the door. Nast nasty place.
