A large variety of sushi all of which is delicious. Good selection of alcohol. Bartenders are pretty good at what they do. Sushi chef is very knowledgeable and creates beautiful food.

I was worried about a restaurant that claims to serve Chinese, Japanese, Thai Sushi bar and Indonesian food. That is a broad spectrum of tastes. They also have some kind of Karaōke set up. They came through. Asia café is now my «go to» restaurant for Chinese and other great dishes. I am a bit boring and love Mongolian Beef.

I have done more than my share of traveling, including overseas and lived in alot of cities in the US but this restaurant is weird bordering on bizarre. If you want a strange and different eating experience this is your place. Before you even walk into the restaurant and look at the exterior of this restaurant you get a «strange vibe» You expect maybe«the Adam’s Family» or «Sponge Bob» running this place. I don’t want to give it all away because there’s alot that’s weird here but check it out at night when many of the plastic dining tables light up in bright florescent colors, seriously. And let me tell you the crowd runs the gammet from bikers to your typical N Knox family. Strange food menu, strange drink menu, strange live music on occasion, very strange décor, etc. I always get a little nervous when a restaurant has too many food choices. I’ve found the food to be OK sometimes a little better than average and sometimes a little worse than average. This restaurant sort of has the appeal of a car wreck, you don’t know why you’re attracted to it and have to look but you just do. Looks like they’re building a new building and plan on relocating this restaurant in the future. This place’s success was based on «weird» and if they can’t carry that atmosphere to the new location then I predict they may not see the same success.

My friends and I are new to this area of town and we decided to try this restaurant. To be honest, as Asians, we didn’t think the food was great at all despite all the great reviews. We got the steak bento box, steak/scallop/shrimp hibachi, and drunken noodles. The prices are relatively cheap, around $ 8 – 15 per dish. The one ingredient that was the most disappointing was the steak. Steak is supposed to have a bite and be seasoned, but for some reason, it was soft, flavorless and gritty tasting. On the other hand, the shrimp and scallops were overly salty. The scallops were tasteless on the inside despite the highly salty covering. The drunken noodles tasted like it had too much vinegar and Sriracha. It was a shame the food was so under par because the restaurant itself had a great atmosphere and design. They had live music, which we all enjoyed. I think for the price, there are many other great Asian restaurants in Knoxville, but this is just my opinion. Thanks~

Another Asian restaurant to Unilocal about! Roti canai — the curry was very salty and the roti seemed store bought. I could have bought the frozen pack of roti and fried it myself; which I have done before. If you ever want to try the type of Malaysian roti canai that is addicting, I’ll have to search for it here. But basically, it should be super thin and oddly shaped. It’s kind of like how one would make crepes. Vegetable spring roll — bland, but I have yet to taste a good veggie spring roll. It also came with a red sauce that I’m unsure about. Tofu drunken noodle — extremely oily. Well pan fried noodles are usually oily since it doesn’t absorb the oil. I asked for a 7⁄10 spice but it wasn’t even spicy! Egg drop soup — I wasn’t never a fan of this soup but I figured I would try it. It was super creamy though! Thai coffee — yummy, I wonder how much sugar was used. Vegetable sushi roll — way too much rice. Previous Unilocalers commented about slow service but I was satisfied. Everything came out in a timely manner.

I ordered dinner for my husband to pick up one night before we had to be somewhere. He had fried rice meal and I ordered the knoxville roll. I ordered mine with the sauce on the side bc I do not like a lot of sauce. He picked it up and brought it home. My sushi had both of the sauces all over it. I didn’t have time to get another one so I called them to tell them what happened and the guy said yea it’s our mistake the sauce always goes on the side when it’s Togo. We have a new sushi chef. So I asked if they could just credit it to my card bc I did not have time to pick up another one and bring home to eat. the guy said they do not credit food back but could give me a credit to the restaurant but I would have to bring the food back to them. So on our way to the party we dropped it off to them and a tall skinny guy said I had talked to him and he got my name and said I would have a credit it would be hanging where you pick up the Togo food. Not super pleased I let it go bc I had no other choice. So about a month and a half later we go back and I tell our server and he goes back and they say there is no credit. So I pull up the day we were there on our bank statement pointed out the server who did the credit and the manager said that the credit expired after 30 days and we could no longer use it. So $ 12 down the drain. The place is not that great anyway so I have no problem never going back. Poor customer service on there part bc the server remembered me and the credit but the manager would not comp anything for us.

We have eaten many times here at the Asia Café, service and quality of food has always been OUTSTANDING! however I am very disappointed in our dinning experience tonight. Very busy night, we had a new waiter and he did well having just been there a few weeks. His service was fine. Its the quality of he food that disappoints tonight. I had the steak and shrimp hibachi. The Steak was so over cooked that it was literally BURNT. Not only were the edges of the steak crispy all of the pieces were CRUNCHY! Having finished my dinner the waiter finally came up and asked if everything was ok? I told him things were fine other than my steak being burnt! He asked if he could get me another? I told no that’s okay just take the $ 1.00 off the bill which is the price difference in the Shrimp, and the Steak and Shrimp Hibachi. He told me he would see if the mgr would do it, if she wouldn’t do it that he would just give me the dollar out of his pocket. Well I got my bill and guess what was under it? Yes a Freaking $ 1.00 bill. The mgr on duty wouldn’t discount my bill a $ 1.00 how ridiculous. Okay so it’s only a $ 1.00 but it’s pure principal now. I didn’t eat the steak so why should I pay for it? your Cook Burned it! The waiter was very very apologetic about the whole deal. I told him he did a good job and that it’s was not his fault! I still tipped him as I should have and I will be back, I just hope little ms manager learns that a $ 1.00 could have cost her more then this rating!!!

Hands down the most authentic Asian food in Knoxville. They serve exotic dishes from all over Asia and have amazing sushi and hibachi. More variety than others. Oh, and great drinks too.

I try to get by here as much as possible. Great prices combined with great food. I order the sushi occasionally and have only been disappointed a few times. Most recently, the spicy tuna roll. It just wasn’t all that good. I usually order the Tennessee Roll and General Tso chicken which always seems to be a winning combination. If you go for lunch, they have specials that cost about $ 6 and you get a soup, crunchy noodles, and a entrée. Spicy garlic chicken is good. Go give them a try.

Just relocated from San Antonio to Knoxville, love Thai food and was happy to run across this place. Neat, funky, semi-cozy vibe here, plenty of screens to watch sports. My dish and drink came out to 13 bucks and portion was quite generous. Tried the drunken noodles, one of my fave dishes, tried a level 7 out of ten spice level and I coulda handled ten friends! Plenty of chicken and noodles, not many veggies though. Would have liked dish to have been crisper, noodles were a bit rubbery. Dare I say my drunken noodle was a bit soft? I don’t often use sexual euphemisms in my reviews, but when I do…

This has become my favorite Asian restaurant in Knoxville. The atmosphere is great — I like to sit on the side with the light up tables, which are extremely awesome. They also usually have an inspiring quote on the board behind the bar. The food is incredible. They have the best General Tso’s chicken I’ve ever had, and the sushi is fantastic. The place is especially great for those of us who are on a low carb diet — they have a «no rice» roll, which is absolutely delicious, and excellent sashimi, particularly the tuna. I also really enjoy getting the chicken & shrimp hibachi. Everyone I have ever taken here has loved it. See for yourself!

Been a regular here for the last 2 years or so. I used to think this was by far the best Japanese restaurant around as far as taste, price, and portions. Sadly the quality has severely declined in the last year or so. Me and my wife went in this afternoon and had our worst and last experience there. We both ordered hibachi chicken and it was 55 minutes before we got our food, which was about as warm as the milk in your refrigerator. The waiter took our plates and returned with replacements about 20 minutes later. About halfway through the meal my wife found what looked to be a stem from a flower, we brought it to the owners attention who was sitting nearby and at first he had no idea what it was, turns out(after we already had them take our plates) it was a stem from a Chile pepper. They did make a half hearted attempt to make it right by taking one of the entrees off

Great food for a decent price. Don’t let the building fool you, the food is great. Just a little spicy, as tai food ought to be. Both the tai noodle dish that I got and the general tso’s chicken portion sizes were unbelievably large.

We ordered take out from Asia Café and were very pleased with our hibachi food. The portions were huge, the meat was absolutely delicious, and the sauce that comes on the side really complemented the vegetables. Overall, it was a good Asian experience for these well-seasoned visitors. I’d definitely go again if I found myself back in Knoxville!

Way too much going on here. They try to serve Malaysian, Japanese, Chinese and Thai food in one area while running a full blown bar in another. So you sit there gamely trying to ignore the simultaneous acoustic onslaught. The play by play of two separate games, muzak and horrible karaōke. One or two things done well is better than 9 things done poorly. 2013 #194 /365

I had the best black peppered chicken ever. Chef added extra heat for me and it was hot and delicious. Want something extra hot or spicy? Just tell your server and the cooks are happy to make your dish however you want it. Pick a number between 1 to 10, with 10 being painful maximum heat, and they will make your dish accordingly. I chose 8 and it was great. Nose sniffles, heat and burning slightly of the lips, but nothing that lingered too long. Just incredibly tasty with some delicious heat. I will be back.

I really like this place. Although the menu is ridiculously huge, and as pan-asian as it is, it’s still really satisfying when you’re craving a certain dish. Mine being the Shrimp Laksa Mee Hoon(D-81). It is absolutely incredible, and I’ve even been guilty of having it delivered from time to time via Doorstep Delivery. It’s the perfect combination of thai red curry spicy/coconut milk/brothy/rice noodle/cilantro goodness that i want on a rainy day. I’ve had their other items, and while they have all been good, I still return to D-81. Also, there are neon light-up tables. And one table has toilet seats. So there’s that.

My review is based on two visits. I got the Pad Thai on my first visit. I can still taste the chunks of sugar in the food. The egg roll I got with it was soggy and oily. I’m actually not sure why I went back again but I did. The next time around, I got sushi. The sushi was redemptive although it still wasn’t that great. Service was also super slow. I had to wait almost 40 minutes for avocado rolls. Cant really comment on service since I got take out both times but the staff appeared to be very nice.
