I love it when they offer to make a special sauce blend for me. Wish they offered brown rice. Just drove by yesterday and saw it was closed. Perhaps they just moved?

We often eat at Mongolian Grills so when we were shopping at Fred Meyer next door we thought we’d try this one out for lunch. They opened with the new Freddie’s not long ago. We went in and were warmly welcomed. The signs were a bit confusing — one price for one bowl, two bowls, all you can eat, once through. The food was fresh but when we asked where the mushrooms were she said they were for dinner! The cook did ok. The hot tea was right next to the grill so I poured a cup — and when we checked out we were charged for it! There was absolutely no indication there was a charge for the tea. At the check out the cashier went back to our table and said yes, you had two cups! Well, and one teabag! The cashier brought water to some people — but not to us. Didn’t even tell us where it was. I finally found it myself. There are better places for ‘Mongolian’. I won’t be going back here.

I went there last night and it is $ 9.99 all you can eat for dinner(drinks are extra). Whatever the per-plate thing was last year, it’s gone now. When I’m in an Asian restaurant(«Mongolian» grills originated in Taiwan in the mid-late 1900’s), it’s disconcerting when 100% of the staff on hand is Hispanic, but not a deal-breaker. The food in the bins was all well cut and fresh, though things weren’t quite in the right order for effective cooking. The cook was less careful about timing the different items than at other grills I’ve been to, but since his grill seemed to have a steeper heat gradient from edge to center, he sort of made up for it. Everything came out ok in two of my three plates, but he far overcooked the cabbage and fish(but not the scallops) in the third plate.

As it so obviosuly hapens with women-run businesses– their husband had a bright idea and ruined it. I went in this last time to still see the obvious lady owner doing everything but grilling a table with a bunch of papers and some smarmy guy in a sweat suit ordering her around. New sign on the line says«First plate 7.99 next plate half off!»…when the whole franchise is «all you can eat» and marketed as exactly that. The husband watched closely to make sure she charged everyone. While he sat down. The whole time. Glowering. Oh dear. I love the owner, the grill guys are good, all the food is fresh but it’s so meh now… If I wanted some insecure himbo guy ruining my lunch experience I’d eat at Perry’s, or a Gyro place.
