Went in there with my children and everything was good until I seen the buffet that they had it look like a lunch but they charged you for dinner prices and I was kind of mad with that because my bill came to be $ 42 for two children and one adult my oldest daughter was 11 and my other daughter was eight and I was kind of mad that I paid two adults one child very upset and on top of that I’ve been there before and they had lunch it look like lunch service nothing special but in the dinnertime evening.

RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!!! I went in there for lunch and expected to order off the menu, however something in her kitchen was not working and they could not serve off of the menu. I indicated that I did not want to eat the Mongolian Grill/buffet style food on this visit and that maybe I would just go to a different restaurant this time. The lady became very rude and disrespectful and was offended because I didn’t want to order something that I did not want to order. I Can’t comment on the food but the service was definitely at the very bottom of ratings.

Friendly family owned mongolion grill and Chinese restaurant. Newly remodeled and friendly staff that always make you feel at home. The cook behind the grill is one of the best I have ever had for this style of food. Easy access, next to pink elephant car wash on highway 99.

I went here with my family and the little old man rode our asses about highchairs to our babies playing so we left. The most disrespectful man I ever met. I will never go there again

We use to come here when they opened but a number of years ago we moved to the other location in the Mall(I believe they were originally owned by the same family but they split it up). We were going by and decide to stop — but it confirmed our decision to stay with the Mall location. The gentleman at the door that is discussed in some of the reviews — is one of the owners and does not know American culture — thus appears to be unfriendly. I tried to talk to him but he was not interested. It does set a tone to how you are going to feel. I started to call this Asian friendly — which I do not find conducive to have a great experience. However — The Chef was one of the friendliest in all the Mongolian places I have been — usually they are frowning. We were there when they had a large crowd and thus service to us was not as good as it should be(initially pretty neglectful) — note they have a large room in the back that would have been ideal for the group but they chose to crowd them and us in the front. Ironically the majority of the party was not ordering from the line but off the menu — which was taking up the limited server’s time. To add to that — they were bringing in a birthday party and were combining tables — so we finished up and left before that happened. The meat is in a tall narrow container which makes it difficult to get if it is low and the wraps are not as tasty as most other places. The water given to us was warm. Also — the place has a very poor design for acoustics and with the large crowd — it was not a nice experience as far as visiting — you could not hear very easy and we felt like we were yelling. Overall — although the food was OK — the experience is not worth the cost.

Food is great! I was with a friend and we were greeted immediately! All people from who seemed to be the manager, to the chef was very welcoming. The food is typical Mongolian grill, but all products seemed fresh — super delicious. I happen to be Chinese and I understand the complaints about service, but it’s simply just not the Chinese way to be constantly attentive towards dining patrons; if you need something, all you need to do is ask.

I’ve been coming here for almost 40 years. This is a Mom and Pop joint and just the kind of restaurant I want to patronize. No chain restaurant here. Very authentic Chinese food as they speak Chinese and even write it. No one makes as good a Mongolian beef or Szechuan crispy beef as they do. I don’t do the Mongolian smörgåsbord, I go for Chinese plates. Hot n Sour Soup is delicious as is the Three Delicacies plate. It’s not all warm and fuzzy here with the owners because they are Chinese, they don’t show many emotions. They are genuine, down to Earth people.

My wife and I decided to try this place because we found on online coupon for buy one dinner/lunch, receive the second half off. From the initial phone call, the whole situation was really unprofessional. A lady answered the phone with«Hello?». I said«Hi… is this Jay’s Asian Grill?» She made an unclear comment about not being able to do carryout, then handed the phone to another guy who worked there. He took our order in a rush, then asked how far away I lived and when I could be there, as if I was inconveniencing them. This was at 7 and they’re open until 10PM. When I arrived to pick up the food, the guy at the counter would not honor the coupon I had. It was identical to a coupon he had behind the counter, but because the coupon was on my phone, he would not accept it. So instead of possibly keeping a return customer, they have now lost me as a customer forever, and I will not recommend this place to anyone based on their lack of customer service explicitly. The food was only mediocre as well.

An ok Mongolian grill but nothing really stood out, the food or the service. I went in shortly after they opened at 11 and grabbed a table. Eventually the waitress asked what I would like to drink. I ordered hot tea since it was not the warmest of days which took over 10 minutes to come out from the kitchen and then sat on the glass counter up front for another couple of minutes before it was brought to my table. I was told the line for the food was ready so I went for it after pouring a cup of tea to cool a bit. There are freezer bins of frozen shaved beef, chicken, pork and lamb. Further down the line there are also fish fillets which I assume were tilapia which I don’t eat because it is a bottom feeding fish. There were also some chunks of fake crab legs as well as the usual veggies and noodles for a Mongolian grill set up. The sauce station has a sign above to give some guidance to season and spice up your food to your liking. At lunch time shrimp is not an option from the food line. I did not ask if it could be added for an additional charge. The cook will take your bowl and cook up your selections. Peanuts, sesame seeds and other garnishes are available near the cook station as well as bottles of Sriracha and other sauces. This is the first Mongolian grill that I have been at where you serve your own rice so I was glad I was the first customer of the day. Total with tax was over $ 13 so it was not a cheap lunch that wasn’t great in any way. The nicest person in there was the guy who cooked my food. I didn’t see any signs so I assume that that price was for one trip through the food line.

The best mongolian grill in Federal Way. Recent renovations make the restaurant very inviting and very clean. I’ve eaten here twice, and had very good service.

I ordered a house fried rice and it tasted like plain rice with eggs not to mention the hard rice in the dish. Then I ordered Honey Walnut prawns that where so dried they weren’t even edible. They looked like dried up snakes. Ill never go there again costumer service sucked.

Same building as the old Ganghis Khan but the décor is 100x better. It appears much cleaner and the quality of the Mongolian buffet food is great. So far the only complaint is that the waitress was not very attentive even though we were the only customers there. I would recommend as the food is on par or better than Jasmine and it is cheaper and faster.

We have been coming here for several years. 14+ years. The recent remodel really gave this place a much needed facelift. The buffet is by far the best Mongolian grill in all of Puget Sound. They have always been very nice to us and we continue to come back year after year. Highly recommended

My boyfriend and I use to be okay with this place, even though the chef kept staring at me like a hawk as I ate… This was our second time going. We are always the only people who eat there. Therefore, it doesn’t matter what time of the day you go because it’s always dead. They are probably almost running out of business, which we thought was weird because the food is decent. So we go in and the manager is sitting in a chair staring us down. I got noodles that the chef cooked and my boyfriend ordered fried rice. I don’t eat very much at all as it is, so I got a normal plate full of noodles. I wanted my boyfriend to eat the rest of whatever I couldn’t eat or at least eat some, so the food wouldn’t get wasted. We asked for a small plate, and they said«no sharing» in a very rude way. I was eating my noodles, and my boyfriend took a tiny carrot off my plate and ate it. The manager was watching and staring at us the entire time. It made us so uncomfortable! Plus, we were the only ones there. Just as the waitress brought out the fried rice, my boyfriend got up, and we were leaving because the creepy manager was going to charge us for three plates of food! Which he did because he took my boyfriend card and swiped it and yelling at my boyfriend for taking a bite of my food, charging him an entire extra plate! Almost $ 40! We ate two bites of food, and so much food and money was wasted! If you are looking for a place with a comfortable atmosphere and somewhere with polite hosts at a Mongolian restaurant DONOT go here. Take your money somewhere else because they are rude, creepy, and don’t know how to manage their place!

Last 2 times I went there I would had gave them a 5 But you know something The manager or general manager fat Asian sitting in the front counter(yes you… I know you reading) They have a awesome set up. With a lovely person working in the tables But serious That manager He is not good for managing They have no business because he pushing everyone away He didn’t let me take a bite of food from my girlfriend plate… We spend 30 dollars on food there and he was willing argue with me and not let me take a bite of food from her plate what a terrible manager Mr here manager you had no one in your building because of your lack of communication and flexibility when it come to your customer Out of anger I pay for my food and out of anger I walked out with out eating a single bite of my plate I refuse to eat there I advice Not to come and if I could give this place a 0 I would What a waste of my money

I was excited to try this new restaurant, even though I wasn’t sure what type of food it was. The restaurant wasn’t busy late at night. We were offered the Chinese menu or Mongolian Grill. We’ve never had Mongolian grill, so the waitress showed us the ingredients and explained everything. The food was very fresh and well chilled. They had tons of options. The grill cook and waitress were very attentive and friendly. The waitress was even motherly, I wasn’t expecting such warm and friendly service from a restaurant with updated modern décor. This will be a regular dinner spot for us from now on.

Really tasty food! My sister and I came here and we were confused by what to do, or how we order. The waitress walked us through everything and it turned out sooo delicious. Will definitely be coming back here. It was fun, the food was great, and the people were very nice.

This had to be the longest remodel in history. I think this place closed early November and just reopened at the end of March. I had never been here before, so I have nothing to compare it to, but I will say the Mongolian bar was nice and the Chinese menu was decent. The service was a bit slow and impersonal, but that could have more to do with the language gap. A great alternative and addition to the local restaurant scene, but they need to improve service and friendliness.

four of us went here thinking there was a new Asian restaurant in town. The first clue that we were wrong was the sign on the front door –it still said Mongolian Grill/China House. We went inside. I could tell right away that the décor had been upgraded. I asked the hostess if it was the same owners and she said yes. I asked ‘same cook’? she said yes. she seated us and brought us menus — the very same menus previously used when this place was the Mongolian Grill/China House! My wife noticed before me that there was a stale grease odor and found it very offensive. We decided to leave — primarilly because of the bad odor. One of the waitresses told my wife they were having problems in the kitchen — hence the bad odor. for crying out loud people! if you have that bad of an odor — fix it! We eat early but still, no wonder the place was empty. if you are upgrading — spend the money for new menus! We ate elsewhere
