Torn between a 3 or 4 star. What makes me want to rate it a 4 star is the outstanding service by our waiter and the wine list!!! That was the best experience. The interior is nice and it’s a comfortable place to go for a glass of wine after work. The Waldo area is cute too. What makes me rate it 3 stars is the food. Nothing really stood out, the cheese board is a good way to go. The calamari was lacking. My Gnocchi just ok, nothing special and my husband wasn’t a fan of his steak. Just like Shania sang when it comes to the food«That don’t impress much» However the wine list rocks– I would come back for cheese and wine and the people are pretty awesome.

Good food and drink was improved by good company. My salmon wedge salad was heavy on the salmon and very light on the dressing. Probably better value but diminished the flavor. I would have asked for more but didn’t see the waitress until our party of 6 was about done eating. Had the waitress been more attentive or the dressing Issue resolved I would have given 5 stars. Service was a little slow too.

Two friends and I made the unfortunate choice of selecting Louie’s for brunch this past Sunday. It didn’t feel as though it would be a bad choice, going into it. We’ve had incredible brunches here in the past — but alas… along with the bottomless mimosas, the great food too has gone. How far they’ve fallen in two years is astounding! The«new» Spring/Summer menu is awful. Awful in that there is absolutely NOTHING special about anything on it. There is nothing on it that you could not get anywhere else — better.(Seriously, Denny’s serves better bacon than what my friend got on the«Blue Plate Special» — it truly looked as though the pan holding the bacon was dumped onto his plate as he had not one full slice of bacon, rather, what we came to call«bacon parts»!) My other friend went with the«Breakfast Flatbread» — which, save yourself some cash and buy a Tostino’s sausage pizza(sometimes on sale for .99 cents!) throw some scrambled eggs on it and voila! You too can make Breakfast Flatbread!!! I seriously found nothing interesting enough(the crab cake benny used to be good but the last time I ordered that, the crab cakes were the size of quarters, so I saved my $ 15.) I just ordered a half order of biscuits and gravy — oy vey! Not even that was worth the $ 5.00. How does a restaurant open for brunch not able to correctly cook a biscuit!!! Raw dough in the middle — while my «blue plate special» friend had to send his back as it was ice cold. Two weeks ago, they had a delightful cocktail on the menu — NOMORE!!! The waitress’ response when we asked for it — «nope, it’s gone, but you can have a carafe of mimosa». That was her version of charming. I recognize she was a bit older(as are me and my friends) and the brunch shift can be a beotch, but never an excuse to be condescending or rude. Seriously, you just made the cocktail two weeks ago, and now we can’t buy one??? Okay, coffee only, please. The other clue as to the fall of Louie’s as a brunch spot… there was a time you had to wait for 30⁄45 minutes for a table. We walked in at noon to an almost empty house. Whereas, District Pour House was PACKED. No manager in sight either — never once were we asked if everything was okay. When you let the unhappy staff run the joint, it;s unlikely you’ll maintain your business. As former«frequent flyers» for Louie’s brunch — we have flown to coop!!! Buh bye… it was fun when it was good. Just not good enough(at those prices) to ever come back again — not even for the overpriced gnocchi.

Outstanding menu and great wine selection. We had a soft cheese appetizer that was so good we reordered twice. We also ordered a rose wine that was wonderful not too sweet with a nice fruit flavor. They make it easy to try any of their dozens of wines when the table orders two glasses they open any bottle. All our main courses were great as well. Ideal place for a group gathering casual with great service. Will go back again.

I have celiac so I am always kind of scared when I eat out. I’ve had some bad experiences when I wasn’t given gluten free food when I was told it was and became very sick. I had the gluten free tacos, one shrimp and one pork. They were so delicious that I’ll definitely be going back! I love when restaurants offer gluten free things and can cater to the needs of people who suffer from the disease. It makes me feel a little more comfortable about eating out. Definitely recommend this place!

Incredible brunch and bottomless mimosas! Discovered this gem while my fiancé was stationed in Kansas for the summer. So sad that I don’t live in the area! The brunch options are delicious, love the Mac and cheese omelet and the different benedicts. The bottomless mimosas come in all different flavors, and it’s fun to switch it up! Bloody Mary’s are delicious as well!

Just went to Louie’s for lunch today with my associate Michelle. Love this place especially the Calamari. The Diablo pasta sauce brings just the right amount of heat. This is my 4th trip there 1st with the new menu and ti has become a favorite. If you haven’t been for lunch you should go. I understand they have awesome brunches so one of these weekends i’m going to wander over from Westport and have a bottomless Mimosa and the Crab Cakes Benedict. I love the vibe of the place.

We usually do brunch; I couldn’t guess how many times we’ve been, but their bottomless mimosas(with choice of juice) are fantastic. The best thing on the brunch menu is the crab cakes benedict. If crab is in your wheelhouse, do yourself a favor. We have done dinner here a couple times with equal(if not more) success. The atmosphere is much more intimate, we did several courses paired with wine. Dinner’s tougher on the pocketbook, but it’s a great romantic date!

We have been to Loui’s on many occasions for happy hour, dinner and late night drinks. Our«go to» meal has always been the gnocchi. We showed up on a Monday night to enjoy the burgers; we had seen someone eating them on a previous visit and they looked amazing. The added bonus was that Monday is all night happy hour pricing on food and drink specials. We started with the calamari; we can’t seem to come to Loui’s without an order of calamari. As usual, we weren’t disappointed. We each ordered the burger and a side apple harvest salad(another staple every time we visit). The burgers were absolutely delicious; cooked to perfection. The salad was crunchy and fresh as it always is. We enjoyed some good wine from the board and a Moscow mule. So many reasons to keep coming back to Loui’s, we love it!

My husband and I love this place. It is a few blocks away from our house which makes it our go to neighborhood spot. The food is great, the wine selection is impressive, the cocktail menu is delicious, the staff is friendly, the brunch is our favorite(two words — endless mimosas), and the live music downstairs is always a great experience.

This place is fantastic for a good breakfast and mimosas! Our server was very helpful — Even though my friend and I arrived at a very busy time, he made sure to check in on us often and everything was as ordered. I’ll definitely return in the future!

Really yummy drinks, including craft cocktails, local beers, and wines. They do have a Friday night happy hour from 10 – 11, but beware – you have to order that drink from the the bar. My waitress watched me look at at the happy hour menu, order from it, then proceeded to charge me full price. I felt that she could have told me that it was bar only, I still would have tipped her well. I ordered the violet eyes cocktail, and it tasted like a limey, grape garden. We had a really good time here and service was excellent as well. I was surprised by how empty it was on a Friday night.

We’ve been to Louie’s a dozen times and keep on going back hoping that this place will become something special but it just hasn’t blossomed. We really liked the food when the place first opened but sadly they parted ways with that chef and it just has never been the same since. Our last two lunches have both been bland experiences. At least the wine selection is fantastic and the space is very comfortable but loud.

Very disappointed with Louis last night my husband and I made dinner reservations for New Years Eve as we have the past few years, tonight was terrible. They were busy but we got seated right away and then we sat there with no menus, water or how do you do as our waitress walked around us for 10 minutes. I understand busy but a hello would have been nice. Our waitress finally arrives with our menus and had a attitude right out the gate I work in a retail industry I understand it can be stressful so we make a few jokes to try and lighten up the mood which were ignored with a few blank stares. She proceeds to tell us they were out of gnocchi so my other two choices on the limited New Years menu are beef or salmon so we’re pretty much out of luck ok still I get it it’s the holidays she is stressed not her fault we will have a appetizer and a cocktail and have dinner somewhere else. We order crab poutine, violet eyes and a old fashion all of which we’ve had here before. My violet eyes was green YES green and she look at it in the light then gave it to me so I’m kinda guessing she knew it wasn’t right, and our menu stated lump crab, it came out with what looked like a shredded can of crab in water dumped on top of our fries water and all. It was supposed to have green onions and it had chopped lettuce on top. It was cold, salty and watery and it tasted horrible! This location has taken a down hill turn

We came for lunch on a Sunday afternoon a few weeks ago. The interior of the place is cool and set up a good vibe. When we walked in, we were handed the brunch menu which is ok, but could really stand to have more options. We came about about 12:30 and were told we only had the option of the brunch menu until 1:00. This was a problem because not much on the brunch menu looked appealing to us that day, and at 12:30, I would think they could offer their patrons a lunch menu as well if they want one. We each ordered a burger with fries and a beer. My burger included green goddess dressing which I asked to have served on the side. For some reason I can’t comprehend, the waitress was very condescending about this request and tried to argue me into putting the dressing on my burger. I held steady in my request, but could tell she wasn’t impressed. Fast forward about 30 minutes(yes, 30 minutes for two hamburgers) and our food finally arrives. The fries are good, but the burger is room temperature. Also, she forgot to bring the green goddess dressing, and I had the pleasure of waiting another 10 – 15 minutes and eating half of my burger without it before I could track the waitress down to ask for it. Over all, the atmosphere is great, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. I would go here for a drink, but eat elsewhere in the future.

My husband has been really looking forward to going because one of his friends is all about it. So we made a reservation. we arrived a little early but the girl seating was very nice. it was about 7:30 on a Friday night but not too crowded so she offered us a choice of where we would like to sit. we opted for downstairs because they were playing music. mistake. we could not hear ourselves think. But i get that’s not really Louie’s fault. The server — it seemed it caused him pain to talk to us. so he did it as little as possible. We ordered the carafe and it was nice. I asked him what it was. he barely stopped walking to say«X X X» and kept going. Again — it wasn’t –that– busy. The food– ok. so like. we ordered the sticky cheese(i think it was called). it was SO good. They came in a fine time frame. Then they took them away and we waited and waited and waited. It was every bit of 40 minutes after. My husband ordered the Sinatra burger. He was pleased with his. I ordered the chicken corn carbonera. I was –NOT-. First, mine was not even hot. Barely lukewarm. The pasta tasted like they had used a block of Ramen noodles. and I wonder if the person that put together my order understands what carbonera is. I had LADLES full of almost… broth. I –seriously– wanted to complain but i figured as long as it took us to get our order out in the first place… So yeah. Not pleased. BAD experience. From what my friends have said, I’d be willing to believe it was just a ‘bad wind” at our table and not that the restaurant sucks.

Shared the shrimp Diablo and Pork Gnocchi with my wife. Sauces were very similar but great flavor. Gnocchi were super good but different than I’ve ever had. Overall great meal, neat atmosphere only reason for not being a 5 is value for Sangria Wednesday special just isn’t there. Sangria was just ok and not even worth special pricing.

This is one of my favorite brunch places in the city. Bottomless mimosas? Check. Macaroni and cheese omelette? Wait, what? Check! Chorizo gravy? No, seriously, what? Check! This place is fantastic. The chorizo gravy is a must try, even as a side to breakfast potatoes. The crab eggs benedict was not bad, but the Mac and cheese omelette was really unique and delicious. My favorite is the bottomless mimosas with a variety of juices that they will mix for you. They also serve brunch on Friday which is amazing. My only complaint is there is no real waiting area.

Very disappointed! We waited a couple years to try it… Decided to go here for brunch today. Don’t waste your time! First, the waitstaff is lacking. The noise levels are ridiculous. I had a special order which was obviously was an inconvenience to everyone involved. My food was served extremely cold. No apology was offered by management. When they returned with my «redone» eggs… They weren’t even cooked as per my request… The second request. I gave up and was able to choke down a few bites. The food is pretty much terrible. The drinks are mediocre at best. Too bad to say I live two blocks away and I will never return here!
