Burgers = great! Service = terrible… The worst service I have had in a very long time. We sat 10 min before drink order 10 more before draft beer arrived then after ordering it was 30 min to get two burgers and some fries. For $ 40 I would expect much better service w my Burger.

So sad to see Juicy’s closed. I don’t know how I’m going to live without their St. Valentino’s shake.

Apparently Juicys couldn’t get their act together. It has closed. Sign is still up, but the windows are all covered in blue plastic. I’m disappointed. The burgers really were top notch.

I don’t know why this restaurant has such slow service because I saw so many people working during our dinner. It took awhile to get our drinks and the food and refills. After we asked for some refills on our drinks, a little over 10 min passed by and we asked another server if he could check on the guy who was supposed to bring us our drinks. Then the second waiter brought us our refills and then a few minutes after that, the first waiter brought us our refills. It’s weird they didn’t have the upstairs drink station open when there were quite a bit of occupied tables upstairs too. The food was mediocre. Like they were trying to be different but missed the mark. Our burgers were pretty dry and bland and expensive for something that’s not great. The four of else couldn’t help noticing that more than half of the front of house staff looked like they were 13 to 16 year old kids. I’m not sure what to make of that.

Terrific service aka I could have flown to Texas and back by the time they got a single drink to me. There was about 6 people in the entire place and I was there right around 7pm. Terrific service I tell ya. Their«housemade ketchup»…try Heinz from a bottle.

Food was bad. Service was very slow. Burger was like rubber, very thick rubber. Order was wrong. How hard is it to add mayonnaise? Should have read the reviews before we went.

Genuinely enjoyed the experience seated at the bar. Started with the fried pickles, which were nice. Tried the BBQ Burger, served med, and very happy with. I look forward to trying the peanut butter and jelly burger, which I hear is very tasty. Also to mention, we were offered a couple of drinks at the bar down stairs by the manager, as we waited for the band to set up.

I have to agree with previous posts… service was pretty slow. Met for drinks with friends around 8:30 and stayed till about 11:00. Sat at the bar and by no means was the place busy. They did have a fun cover band I enjoyed. Opened the big garage doors so there was a cool breeze, the ambiance of the place was nice. But when you are sitting at a bar and have to catch the eye of the bartender every time you need a drink it can be a bit annoying… it just left me feeling ignored.

Came here for the first time last Saturday with a friend from out of state. Let’s just say, this shouldnt be the first place to take a friend if they never been to KC. My friend slipped on a wet spot and there was no sign there, but whatever it happens, we didnt mind we laughed it off. The manager came to us and asked if we were okay and etc etc. We though, man this is some good customer service here. We didn’t even ask for the managers the workers just called him for us. Anyways, he starts taking our order, and we’re like«okay… this is weird, maybe he’s going to give our order to our server…» Nope! Our serve came by 10 mins later and asked if we wanted anything to drink O. o what? Where’s the communication? I wouldn’t say the service was bad, it was odd. We kept on getting different servers coming up to us. There was no order in communication or lack there of. Maybe I should have read some other Unilocal comments first before heading here. Another thing, don’t ask about their«caft beers» especially their Saturday Night $ 3 craft beers because it’s not $ 3, they gave me a 20 oz(which is fine if I was in England in which normal pint is 20 oz, but I just wanted the happy hour 16oz) Anyways, don’t ask them about their craft because they don’t know anything about beers and they are limited. Also when they gave me a list, Bud was part of the craft beer list… =\ I’ve worked at a drafthouse before, I know my beers Also, an odd thing that I notice, the runners and bus kids all look 14 – 16. The kids outside that gave us beer vouchers looked 15 telling us «here have a beer on us!» Dude you can’t even drink legally yet! let alone buy use a drink! Food was okay… Ive had better burgers, and apptz. It was too greasey which was fine. Anyways I’ve had better bison burgers at Blanc and Hamburger Mary’s than this place.

I find it hardtop believe that everyone who walks in here is disgruntled. We’ve been here several times. The first time was right after they opened and yes the service was slow, but having family in the restaurant/food business I can say with out a shadow of a doubt that there were timing issues in the kitchen which needed to be worked out. Every time we have gone since then the timing has improved. As far as the food goes I have tried their burgers and their crab cakes, both were very good, but I have to say the burgers were better. The fries have always been crisp and delicious. I think if you actually look at any of the good burger joints in the area(& I’m not talking 5 Guys, which we love, or Winsteads, which is like sit down fast food) you would find that Juicy’s offers a reasonable value for your money. Every burger is $ 8.50 and fries are around $ 2.95, but the burgers are large and so are the servings of fries. You’ll easily pay more than $ 11.00 for the same meal at say Blanc Burgers & Bottles(another one of our faves.) I can honestly say that after living in the Northland for the past 5 years that there are a contingency of individuals who don’t want locally owned establishments to succeed, for whatever reason. They seem to be happy patronizing the same chain restaurants over & over. That’s fine. There is a market & a price point for everyone. However I wouldn’t not try this restaurant simply because several individuals in a particular demographic were unhappy.

HORRIBLESERVICE! And Yes, Chris B. — I agree every business has its hiccups but its been a month since many of these reviews and I just ate there tonight and service was absolutely the worst I have had in a long, long, long time. It seems to be an on going problem that still has not been resolved. I was actually furious that I HAD to pay a group gratuity and we nearly called the manager to have it removed from all of our tabs, because it was so bad– but than we thought we might be there another hour getting all new tabs voided and rang up again for us? What the heck was the manager thinking by putting someone in charge of the bar and a large table that seats 9 people? Plus other silly things– like they were out of several wines that were on the menu, no silverware, drinks took way too long, we had to request things over and over. Why not keep some extra silverware nearby, at the bar or hostess station– instead of all the way in the back kitchen? The endless trips were comical. Its really too bad, because the food was actually very good. However in the restaurant business, good service is a vital key component to the dining experience and this place failed miserably. I certainly hope they can fix it and soon, for their sake. UPDATE: 10÷11÷13− As expected this restaurant is now closed. Too bad. I would have given it a second chance if it had corrected some of the many service issues and started getting more positive reviews here on Unilocal

Stopped into Juicy’s to have lunch today and it… well get’s two stars. I had the peanut butter burger and had them add bananas. I LOVE peanut butter but they put way to much on. A pb burger should allow you to taste the burger and the pb not just the pb. The sweet potato fries were good, they tasted almost baked. The fried pickles were swimming in oil which is unacceptable(let them strain out before serving). Service was prompt. Our waitress was friendly but she saw my tattoo and then proceeded to show us the tattoo running up the side of her stomach and it wasn’t a stomach to be showing off and even if it was, who does that?!? At the end of the day I can’t say I’d recommend Juicy’s…unless…unless…I got nothing.

I was disgusted when I read the reviews of this place and realized that two of them were wait staff at a local Zona Rosa bar & grille, how many more are there. The real food critics from the KC star and Pitch raved about the food. How lame, attacking a restaurant through social food sites while employed or dating the bartender at the place up the street. The only thing I can agree with is that the service is being fixed daily, any new business is going to have it’s hiccups. I ate here on night one and have eaten there 6 times since and the food an service have gotten progressively better. The menu has expanded and the service has improved greatly. I was saddened to see the YouTube trolls creeping into Unilocal. I would recommend the fried egg burger, it’s juicy and for a guy rocking a goatee, I need to shower afterwards. I love it but it’s definitely on the large side for me so I often share it or take half home. The other yummy item that I can’t resist is the buffalo chicken cool ranch Dorito nachos. It’s big, enough for four to share but for some reason, every time I am there, I find myself trying to wipe off the plate with my tongue. I have heard the sweet potato fries are delicious from multiple people. As an avid dinner drinker, they do great happy hours, especially when the live bands are playing. Not just food but drinks too. They also have a great mix of craft beers and a surprising wine selection. Evan Williams on tap was a first for me as well. I like the social side of the place as well, it’s not the typical sports bar environment which I loathe, they are everywhere. Juicy’s broke the mold as far as I am concerned with live entertainment and music videos on the TV’s. When they finally grand open here in the next month, the owners will have it refined and all will be golden in Zona Rosa. Try it for yourself before you let a bunch of staff from other Zona Rosa restaurants spoil the goodness. It’s different enough to be unique but not so far off the beaten path to be out of sync. Give it a try, judge it for yourself, you will return, it’s that good of a joint.

The food was tasty but the service was prolly the worst I have ever experienced. Took 20 min to get our first round of drinks and that was only after we flagged a mgr down. He actually told us that they were out of mint and he just«sent someone to the store to get some» and that is why it was taking so long. Soooo we were suppose to wait for him to back from the store to get the drink. Not going back. Better service at a fastfood joint.

We decided to try this place for the first time and I must say it will definitely be our last. The service was terrible and slow. I did not care for the homemade sauces, especially the ranch and what they call their ketchup. My husband liked his burger however, was disappointed about having to buy fries to go with it. That made for an expensive meal. I didn’t care for my nachos but I ate them because I was starving by the time we got our food. That’s another thing, by the time we received our food, the guacamole on our nachos had started to brown and the food was semi cold indicating it had probably been sitting out awhile. The fries were bland and the homemade sauces only made them worse. I will not go back, that is for sure. That was a very disappointing experience.

Judy Burger seemed like a nice place when we started out, but went down hill fast. — it does fun atmosphere but it look like the Tomfoolery restaurant that was there before them. — Prices are on the expensive side and NO sides come with the burgers. — they don’t have heinz catsup. They do have house catchup… Which is more like watered down tobacco sauce. Not good at all. Not having catsup at a burger place is like a bar not having beer. Grrrrrr — Our bison burgers did not taste like bison. It tasted like a normal burger. They did insist we got bison. — French fries seem like the same ones(shape and taste) as Red Robin. — server could not get our receipt correct. We kept having other items tacked onto our bill… So check your bill closely. —- Service is BAD! —- –Bartender spent all her time talking with her boyfriend and not with the customers. – Our Waitress was nonexistent. We had the backup water take our order. – Appetizers were brought to the table but no plates to go with it. The waiters left the table almost as soon as she put the appetizers down. – one server spent the entire hour cleaning 4 tables and talking with his friends. We were there for an hour… Seriously, cleaning the same spot for an hour. – only responsive person was the front desk lady who was very friendly. – Again keep an eye on the bill to make sure it is correct. So where was the manager? No one knew. Argh! Would I go back? Nope!

okay I said I was not going to review this restaurant because we went on opening night. However, after reading the reviews maybe it was not just opening night jitters and an actual mistake of trying to copy other upscale Burger places in KC. we waited way too long to get in, way too long to get served to get horrible food. My husband order the double hamburger which was raw and cold in the middle. This happened twice. the Southwest salad which I have a very good home recipe for, with a pile of iceberg lettuce some dry black beans a little cheese a little me and some stale tortilla chips. I’m not sure why in a time where people are becoming health conscious why a restaurant would focus on milkshakes. Super unhealthy especially with greasy cheeseburgers seems a little out of touch with what’s going on in the food community. This is an awesome space in Zona Rosa, and we really don’t need another Bar Louie or 54th Street Grill. Would love to see Panera move or Eggtc. use the space for a great meeting place near the airport. This would suit this business person needs much more than Juicys.

I’m going to base this on the soft-opening visit so far because feedback has to help… Went with several friends on a Monday during their soft open schedule, quickly seated and very friendly service. The waitress attempted to take our drink order, but unfortunately I stumped her. She didn’t know the beer menu, and«IPA» as a beer is a foreign word(sad…). However, the product knowledge will come and that’s ok during this phase. Our waitress was very friendly and when we stumped her, she did go ask for help so kudos for that. So the menu, I have no idea what they’re thinking, but the menu(soft and permanent) made very little sense to me from a what they’re charging perspective. The whole menu is basically $ 8.50…for everything??? Appetizers, sides, burgers, salads! I suppose that makes memorizing the menu a little easier, but can’t the computer do the math for you? I can’t tell if they’re trying to emulate a Blanc or something like that with the a la carte setup, but to have such little price variation doesn’t make sense to me. There was a happy hour from roughly 5 – 7 where the sides and appetizers were half price, but to me that seems like they’re really trying to concentrate business into two hours. Either way, I’m not paying $ 9 for fries… raise the burger price a bit and burger and side it. That being said, and since it was happy hour, everyone got a different burger and split a few sides. I ordered the bbq chedder burger and we ordered the buffalo chips, sweet potato fries, and onion rings. The burger, hands down, was great, bun was appropriately sized, and the spice on the burgers was pretty good as well. I would recommend a different kind of cheddar for that burger, or just a little less cheese(god, I never thought I’d say less cheese…). Unfortunately, the sides were just about terrible, I know I said it before, but there is no way I would pay full price for those sides. They seemed just like out of a box frozen fries that I’ve bought from Sams club before… if you’re going to charge a premium price for fries, please do them right. The portions as is, were good to split between a couple people, but that’s still not good enough of a reason in my opinion. I am happy to see something local out there starting up, and I absolutely will give them another couple tries as they work out their kinks. I think more people should check it out and provide their feedback as well so they can improve.

My girlfriend and I came to Juicy’s on a Friday evening for dinner around 7. We were surprised to get seated immediately, although too much time passed before we got helped by anyone. The young man who came to our table said he didn’t know if the table was his or not but he would help since we hadn’t been helped yet. Our server finally came to the table. First, she had no knowledge of the beer I asked to sample. She then recommended the Doritos nachos after we inquired as to what she suggested. The beer list was very disappointing in that the craft beer industry is growing and their options weren’t great. Also they had two or three seasonals, none of them being boulevard which is hometown. That makes this restaurant a real disappointment for me. Applebee’s even carried a boulevard seasonal. Kansas City is very big on their locafood and local businesses. The nachos came, the chicken and beans were colder than the guacamole and sour cream which were warm, on top of the fact we ordered cool ranch and received nacho cheese… they got sent back. They were replaced by what was called buffalo fries. The buffalo fries were really good even though they were merely Cajun fries with blue cheese dressing. She ordered the bbq bacon burger and I had the juicy’s burger. The meat was over cooked but very well seasoned. Her burger had a huge pile of un-melted shredded cheddar and was quite a disappointment to her. Mine was a double burger stuffed with pepper Jack and was quite plenty as a single. The food cost on the menu was poorly put together. The beers were disappointing. The young female manager got way too excited when I told her the best things were the fries and the bacon. The wait staff were all seemingly inexperienced and very young and all wandering around frantically. I would imagine they were frantic because about 95% of the guests in house looked very irritated and all tables were sending food back. As it stands if this restaurant makes it, they will have the manager Remy to thank. He removed the nachos and the fries were on the house, he bought us a round of drinks, he asked my professional opinion on the beer situation. He’s the reason we’ll ever think about going there again. All in all I think when the full menu rolls out and the entire staff has been trained better it had great atmosphere to succeed.

I met up with a few friends to try this out during there soft opening. The burgers were absolutely delicious, however the pricing on the menu makes no sense whatsoever. I ordered the Juicy Burger. The cost of the Juicy Burger was $ 8.50. However it’s a huge double burger with cheese cooked into the meat patties with great flavor. That’s the good part. Guess what comes with your burger that you pay $ 8.50 for? Nothing! Yes that right, fries, tots, onion rings etc are all on the sides list for $ 3.25. Add in your $ 2.00 soda and you now have an almost 14 dollar burger. We got a sneak peak at the upcoming full menu that will be out in about a week and most notable on it was every burger is $ 8.50, the different types of salads are also $ 8.50, the different appetizers are also $ 8.50. Something about salads and appetizers being the same price as the main course that doesn’t make sense. The service was great and the place is looking really good, but I have a feeling it may be really tough Juicy’s to survive over the long term with there pricing structure.
