Great pizza but lame service. Came in for a pizza order around 10:30PM and was told they can’t make anything fresh because the«pizza guy» is gone for the day. How is that possible? The place is 24 hours and has pizza in the name.

Stella’s has dished up pizzeria fare from the same Grove Street storefront for decades. Don’t expect any thrills: it’s NYC style pizza with a few topping choices served up into the wee hours of the morning. The food’s not bad, though the crust is too chewy, the sauce too thin. At 3am on a Sunday morning, it’ll do just fine.

Best place ever, never have I had something so good. Ive been going here since I was a kid, place is just as good as it was in the 90s and the interior/exterior has never changed! Five stars all the way

Out of laziness, I decided to give Stella’s one more try. It was a mistake. They overcharged me by almost twice my salad order, which had burnt chicken. They also still will not actually reheat anyone’s pizza. Even if you ask.

Absolutely adore this place. Yes, it’s not fancy-shmancy and it’s not a bistro and there are sometimes undesirable appearing characters huddling in a booth at 3AM. But when you go in at 3AM there’s a palpable feeling of authenticity and relaxation, a sort of «dive» for pizzerias, if you will. I’ve dropped in several times in the late hours and every time, Épée remembers me by name and remembers I’m a vegetarian– not necessary to get my good review, but a nice little touch that is appreciated. The guys working are all foreign, all hilarious, and all fantastic. Again, don’t go in if you’re looking for a fancy gourmet pizzeria. If you like character, this place can’t be beat– and it’s proximity to the PATH station, as another reviewer has noted, makes it’s location relatively unbeatable.

Three words. Twenty-four seven! Why has it taken me this long to discover this? Right at the intersection of Grove and Columbus Street, Stella’s consistently dishes out pizzas, salads, calzones, sandwiches — to its hungry patrons whenever their hearts desire. I stumbled in here on the day of Storm Jonas, it was literally the only restaurant that braved the storm and remained open. I was only interested in the pizza, so I really didn’t pay attention to anything else that they had on the menu. They have a huge case of pizzas to choose from, with options like the classic pepperoni down to buffalo chicken with dollops of ranch. My personal and absolute favorite is the barbecue chicken. I don’t know what they put in that sauce but it is just simply amazing — sweet and tangy with cubes of chicken. If you don’t like what you see, you can add additional toppings — caution it is a bit pricey for the add ons. The slices here are mammoth sized, worth every bit of the 4 or so bucks. They toast up each slice in their brick oven(I’m pretty sure its brick, but I could be wrong) so when it gets to you its nice and toasty and crispy. This could be a start of a very dangerous relationship.

So my brother and I were wandering, and I’m not gonna lie I wanted him to get a buffalo slice(a significantly tasty one). As a previous poster said, we almost settled for subway… but oh no. Not today. We went in and they had a fair share of options. Of course I went for the Buffalo, and the sausage and pepperoni. Now, I’ve read the other reviews and the only thing I can agree with is it having the look of a dollar slice spot, but I thought the pizza was flavorful. The dough was sweet do that depends on your preference, I wouldn’t say it’s the best in JC but honestly it doesn’t have to be. Even okay pizza is still pizza. I love pizza and have had a million kinds of pizza, and I thoroughly enjoyed what I had. Maybe it was the cocktails… Service wise, I wouldn’t expect much from a pizza joint. If you want intimate service go to Razza and leave a tip. If you just want something tasty to eat and you’re borderline on the go stop in here and enjoy a slice and keep it moving. Service was good enough for what I needed at that moment. Granted it was my first time there and it gave me a good impression.

Baked Ziti is supposed to have cheese. I got macaroni and sauce and you forgot the bread.

I’ve ordered from Stella’s a few times and it’s a mediocre option here in jersey city. The biggest complaint that I have is that their staff is a bit rude. The pizza isn’t the best in JC but I recall their garlic knots being pretty good. Otherwise, if it’s your last option, I suppose, why not considering they’re open until all hours of the night.

If you want metal as your pizza topping, this is the spot. What a horrible experience, the employees were extremely rude to my wife and I, it was like they all hated their jobs, we were planning to eat in but felt so unwelcome we took it to go instead. We were walking across the street to sit by the Grove St Station, when I took a bite of my slice and started chewing on what I thought at first was a bone, to my surprise, it was a piece of scrap metal, it looked like the metal around a bottle cap, I couldn’t believe it. We return to the restaurant and instead of offering an apology on what could’ve been a fatal mistake, in the most discourteous manner, the guy goes«well, would you like anything else.» And follows with«let me give you some money.» As a martial arts instructor and practitioner, I’ve dealt with many different egos and this guy was definitely the arrogant type, we were hoping for an explanation, to the least an apology, yet all we received was more rudeness. I can see the look of disgust on my wife’s face and ask her we should leave, we leave everything on the counter for them to ponder on, and go and enjoy a bite elsewhere, they’re lucky we didn’t call our lawyer.

Uhm, what should I say about this place? It is what you expected it to be i guess. I passed by this place every day on the way to work and I never noticed that it was there. It looks like a typica $ 1 per slide pizza that you see in New York — there is a counter for sandwich and a few cold pizzas on the shelf with garlic knots, bread and Jamaican food patties. So yesterday, on the way home from the gym I suddenly craved for pizza and give this place a try. i got a slide of plain pizza with basil &2 garlic knots, my husband got a pepperoni slide and sausage&pepper slide. After being warmed up, the garlic knots were really hot inside out, but it is mediocre otherwise. Garlic flavor is not that strong and the bread is kind of mushy. My pizza slide was just ok. Hopefully I will not want to touch a pizza slide in a while after this… My husband’s slice was extremely oily, I can clearly see big trunk of oil laying on top of every pepperoni piece ehhh

I like that Stella’s exists. It’s an OK option to have. Do I want to spend any additional time there? NO. Had a baked ziti slice here and it was decent — what I expected, pretty much. Good sauce, cheesy, robust. Also, heavy, overwhelming but such is the nature of pasta pizza — it’s a rather dicey endeavor — you’re basically peddling carbicide. Service was very friendly and accommodating — the guy sold us the individual slices although their menu said pie only. I really hated the atmosphere. Cramped, dreary, bleak. Surrounded by uninspired faces waiting for their slices. It was also very hot. I legitimately began to feel depressed while waiting for my pizza. Stella’s is fantastic for: drunk pizza since it’s…OPEN24HOURS A DAY. FIREWORKS! That’s a community institution right there. It’s cool for take-out too. And they sell CIGARETTES(24 hour access to nicotine) so if that’s your thing, you’ll love it too.

I’ve eaten here many times without complaint, but tonight it’s really gotten me some perspective. Got 2 slices of cheese and a Jamaican pie and cashier told me 7 dollars and change. Gave the guy a 20, he gave me 2 and change back… knowing that he ripped me off $ 10. I got my $ 10 back ONLY after telling him that he shorted me change and got attitude from the entire fucking staff. Eat here only if you want to get ripped off.

I gave 1-star because of their poor delivery service. This is not reflective on their food quality(as of yet). It took them 1 hour and 15 minutes to deliver a pizza to me. The guarantee was 30 – 45 minutes.

I’ve known this place since they used to be known as A1 deli across the street and they used to and still make amazing sub sandwiches. Today, I tried their BBQ chicken pizza and white slice, both were delicious, and their slices are very satisfying.

We ordered 2 pies from stellas because it was the only pizzeria open in our area at 11pm. The pies we picked up were not fresh. We believe they reheated pies that were already made. One pie was pepperoni and the pepperoni was just thrown on top and not even baked in. The crust underneath became soggy overnight in the refrigerator and had strange mushy spots. I wouldn’t go back to this place.

I love it! The people are nice the hours are great abd the food is good. Pepperoni is pretty standard but always hot and good. I love that they have a variety, including freshly sliced sandwich meet.
