The eggplant parm was terrible but the people are nice and there’s lots of seating available!

I was looking for a place for pasta. The penne alla vodka pasta was okay nothing great. Garlic knots were horrible. They gave bread with the pasta which was the only thing we liked.

Ordered the deep dish cheese pizza and meatball sub. Deep dish had way too much bread and not enough sauce and cheese. Also the meatball sub included little meat and sauce. I basically felt like I was eating a loaf of bread. Very disappointed since this place earned so many good reviews.

One of my favorite delivery places in Jersey City. They have a very expansive menu, so I unfortunately haven’t been able to try nearly enough of what they have to offer. So let me limit my critique to some of my faves. Appetizers: Hot wings. Unlike your typical saucy, soggy buffalo wings, these are served with a dry yet hot seasoning, leaving these wings perfectly crisply and even more delicious. Be sure to ask for buffalo sauce on the side too for an extra kick! Entrees: All of them. While I certainly haven’t tried them all, I think I’ve tried enough to be sure that anything they have to offer will be great. The baked ziti is cheesy and delicious, the eggplant parm is cheesy and delicious, the spinach and meatball calzone is… Cheesy and delicious!

These guys(and gals) are great. Every Friday we order an extra cheese pizza, half Hawaiian, and it is unbelievably tasty. This week we ordered a medium and they accidentally made a large. The owner realized the mistake when I picked it up, told me about it, and charged us the price of a medium pie. I really appreciate the honesty, and of course the pizza tastes amazing — as always.

Got my order wrong, so instead of making a new one they cleaned the chicken off and made another one with the same meat. FUCKTHISPLACE. Never again.

I loved Helen’s from the moment I walked in. I was pleasantly surprised — it was brightly lit, spacious, heavily adorned with Halloween decorations. The atmosphere was great — I felt very comfortable. Service was very friendly as well. We ordered the lasagna pie,(personal size) likely a less popular choice. I was terrified and expected a mountain of pasta atop a pizza. Another surprise — the personal pie was absolutely adorable, like a little cheesy Frisbee. The pizza was moist and juicy with prominent hunks of ricotta and a doughy crust. The bits of lasagna noodle were far from dry and very sparsely distributed along the pie. In fact, it was so light on the pasta that you did not get noodles with every bite. Pasta pizza is a crazy concept and quite frankly, sounds terrible. However, I think Helen’s did it right by letting the lasagna complement the pie and not compete with it. Kudos! Can’t wait to sample their other pies! CHECKINHERETOGET A FREEDESSERT — our cannoli was yummy!

This is the best pizza I know of in JC and I was raised here. It’s not cheap, but not insane either. BUT, it is good for pizza! I don’t eat anything else here, so I can’t comment on that. I’ve eaten here Dozens of times! This is The place for NY Style pizza!

I’ve delivered from Helen’s multiple times and they have not let me down. They have solid pizza and it’s extremely fresh and quick. Numerous times I’ve been quoted up to 45 minutes for delivery and they showed up within 20 – 25 minutes. As far as the rest of the menu, I haven’t tried any other entrees but I’m looking forward to it.

Probably more like 2.5 stars. Ordered the Cheese Pizza and dozen wings combo for $ 17.99. It seemed like a good deal but after eating the pizza, I can see why it was so affordable. The pizza seemed to lack flavor and it definitely needed way more sauce than what they put on it. I can honestly say I’ve had better frozen pizza. On the flip side, the wings were pretty flavorful and if I were craving wings one day, I would consider re-ordering wings(just wings). oh and they charge a $ 0.75 delivery fee(not much but just an FYI).

If you’re craving a simple slice of pizza, make the 5 minute walk. If you are located at 95 Christopher Columbus, it’s better than the other two options you have — Two Boots and Stellas. Great prices too!

Great pizza place. I got take out from here last week and it was pretty damn good. Delivery arrived in half an hour, which is on par with other places I’ve experienced in Jersey City. We ordered the sausage, peppers and onions pizza, 16″ pie and 2 orders of garlic knots. The pizza was delicious, very warm and fluffy. There were a lot of toppings which is a big plus. The garlic knots were phenomenal. They were so warm and garlicky. And when it was covered in marinara sauce, I died. Overall, great experience with Helen’s and we’ll definitely be ordering again!

My parents have been eating at Helen’s since 1969 when it was a little hole in the wall on Newark Avenue. I’ve been enjoying their food since a kid. To be quite honest their pizza can be hit or miss depending on who is making it. Our favorite pie is always the meatball and sausage pizza. Absolutely delicious. You MUST try their buffalo wings. MUST! Now for the rest of the menu… GRILLEDCHICKEN! It’s basically crack. I don’t know how they season their grilled chicken, but you WILL be craving it for days and days. Before you know it you’ll be ordering their grilled chicken once a week. Not even kidding. Italian Sausage Sub, Chicken Parm, Eggplant Parm, Spinakopita, Manicotti, Lasagna, Gyros! It’s all excellent! Their marinara sauce is delicious. I can drink it out of the container haha It may say Helen’s PIZZA, but seriously try the other items on the menu!

Perfect location a couple steps from Barcade to grab a couple of slices after some beer and video games. I’m no expert on NY/NJ pizza but my slices were fresh and hot. I mean how can you not try a slice of a bacon pizza? Laid back place where you order at the counter and they had a couple of TVs with the World Series game on.

With so many options for pizza in Jersey City, Helen’s doesn’t cut it. The crust is too thick for a NY style pie and it always seems stale. The sauce isn’t flavorful, it could use more basil. The cheese is salty. And let’s talk about the pool of oil on top of your slice. Skip this and go elsewhere for your pizza. *this is acceptable to absorb booze.

Got the chance to try their pizza… and I regret it totally. They charge $ 3.50 a slice for gross, floppy, oily, and over salted pizza. I got a buffalo chicken and pesto/fresh mozzarella slice. The buffalo chicken was oversalted and it overpowered the pizza. The pesto tasted a bit better, but had about 2ml of straight oil on it, which made it all soggy and gross. Their crust tasted worse than cardboard. As i sat there listening to the crack heads curse in front of children and rude patrons… I wondered how they are able to sell this at such a high price and call it Pizza? If you go here… DON’T get the pizza…
