Exactly what you expect in a Florida seafood restaurant. Freindly staff. Great food. When I saw the menu was on a sign board I knew we were in the right place. Cajun Calamari was dead on. Appetizer was big enougj for two entrees. Plenty of small size with tentacles. Fried green tomatoes were perfect. Nice balance of tartness in the tomato and the batter. Fried pickles ar some of the best we have had. Fried okra was excellent. Coconut shrimp were perfect. Breaded just tight and not overcooked. Just off I 95. Worth the effort to visit.

Solid food and service. We lucked up and visited on the 30th when they were having their biweekly shrimp special which gives you 30 shrimp with 2 sides for 10.99! My wife and I shared the dish with an extra side and it was plenty. The menu is large and the food came out pretty fast. Since it was our first time the staff was very accommodating in helping us make a good decision for this visit and also subsequent ones. I live in Fleming Island so I don’t think I will drive out there just for the food, but for my Northside friends, hit it up for a quick affordable seafood fix.

We were recommended to go here from some locals it may look like a small little hole in the wall but it is fantastic in food quality and flavor it definitely got us satisfied and full for a decent price. I would recommend this to anyone wanting some great seafood!

This is a great little restaurant. Their staff and service were outstanding, even during Sunday afternoon rush. I highly recommend the grilled shrimp with cheese grits. Don’t let the simple exterior and décor fool you, Junior’s is a treasure. So excited that we found this place!

I have no complaints! Lots of choices! Just be careful and don’t order too much. They’re not good leftover even if you put it in the oven. Well, for us at least.

We enjoyed this stop when driving up 95. It does not look like anything fancy but the food was really good. We shared the Feast for Two and really liked it! The kids all are off the kids meal. Yummy find!

We ate here after the zoo being that it was only 5 mins away. Delicious food and fast service! We all got the 20 piece shrimp meal with 2 sides and everyone’s food was hot and yummy! We will definitely be back to this seafood dive.

We went here for lunch after an early morning at Huguenot beach. We arrived just as they opened at 11am. I got the shrimp special with half fried and half blackened. It came with grits, hush puppies and fried green tomatoes. Everything was fried and blackened perfectly. They make their sweet tea just right too. Its a good bit away from my home so probably won’t frequent much but if I’m in the area and hungry I will definitely stop here

It’s a game winning touchdown when you find a restaurant that has good food, good customer service and a clean facility! About 25 members of our church went to Ship to Shore today and usually we have a great experience, but today, not so much. I won’t dwell on that though because we’re here to talk about Juniors Seafood. The woman taking our order was quick and courteous. It took about 10 minutes to get our food and thats perfect timing if you ask me! The fried food was seasoned mildly, not like mama but still good enough to where you don’t have to add anything BUT hot sauce! The only con was my catfish, I just wasn’t feeling it. My boyfriends fried basa was great though! Bottom line: I recommend this place! So, if you’re on the north side of JAX and you’re looking for some good food, you won’t be disappointed. Happy Unilocaling…

The customer service is awesome!!! The fish is good sometimes and not other times. The shrimp(fried) are good. We’ve eaten here five times and sometimes it’s great and other times not so much

Love this place for the fried seafood and huge selection of amazing side dishes. We had the fried shrimp which were delicate, fried just right and though not big shrimp, was served in a generous portion for lunch. I upgraded to the fried green tomatoes for the side which came with 4 large slices and I loved that without asking they served it with the ranch dressing I use. We also tried the sweet potato fries which came with cinnamon butter for dipping but they were good without anything on them. As an added bonus this place has the best sweet tea.

Excellent food. Fried shrimp was hot and crispy. Shrimp and grits was the best thing at our table. Service was awesome. Great portions for the price. We will definitely visit again!

So, we’ve been making a point of looking for local places while traveling, and not giving in to the dine and dash mentality of most chains off of the highway. This was a fabulous Unilocal find, right off of 95 in N. Jacksonville, not too far from the zoo. Seems at first like a dive, and the menu seems overwhelming at first, but it is worth the stop! You order at the counter, then they bring you your dinner. We had fried scallops, fries, hush puppies, and coleslaw. A classic seafood dinner. The scallops were very good! Crisp crust, and tender inside. Fries were standard crinkle fries, and were adequate, but the hush puppies… well, they were the tastiest I’ve had in a long time! The cole slaw is mayo based, but not too heavy. All in all a pretty tasty meal. We had 12 scallops plus the rest for $ 11 and some change. Reasonably priced seafood, in my opinion! Did I mention the homemade desserts? Thunder cake… chocolate cake with Reese’s frosting… was moist and o’so good!

We love sea food & we have been all over Jacksonville… this is one of our all time favorites!!! It’s a mom & pop hole in the wall but the staff & food… awesome!!! If you like blackened, fried, whatever… it’s all delicious & fresh!!! Nomnom!!!

We ordered the pick 3 and the shrimp and coleslaw were fantastic. The staff were friendly and understanding when we expressed that we didn’t care for deviled crab and quickly switched out for some more shrimp. The scallops were just ok.

Out in the middle of no where. Drive in and every single parking spot it taken but one. I slide in and the first thing my eyes peek is a sign saying atm inside. Debated weathere to even come inside if they weren’t going to be able to take credit/debit cards. But they can! Someone might want to remove that cash and check only writing on the windows. But I’m guessing, if you stopped out here you’re lost, coming from zoo or airport, or travelled direct to grab some grub? It’s too quiet, it’s a Sunday afternoon. Place is packed, but much too quiet. It’s like everyone here had good home training and knew exactly how to limit their conversation to the table. I looked around at the plates around the room. Everything seemed to be some shade of golden brown. I hadn’t planned on getting anything fried until I saw gatortail. I’m chop down on some gator tail anytime. Order and pay at the counter. Friendly service. Food came out super quick and was delicious. The only thing I didn’t like(or was missing) — non deep fried in grease options. But I still think FSU Alumni need to stop in just to try the gator tail.

Great variety of seafood prepared many different ways, but was not as impressed with the blackened or fried seasoning overall I didn’t get to try everything on the menu but the things I tried were just mediocre. I had shrimp and gator, the fried shrimp I got half black and half fried with french fries and green bean.

Unilocal didn’t let us down. Tasty food. Good prices. Generous portions. Well seasoned. Nice people. I REALLY like the option to have grilled or blackened preparation as options, not just fried. Just passing through JAX, but I would come back. No wonder the local reviews are so consistent. Don’t go for the ambience, there isn’t any, and that’s not a bad thing. Go for the food. Enjoy.

After passing this lone restaurant almost daily for the past few months, I decided to visit on a rainy Saturday for lunch. With a clean bare bones crab shack look to it, my friends and I decided to share our plates to enhance our visit. I was pleased with the fried fish assortment as I made a point of trying a few different items from the big menu. It was was also my first taste of Gator tail, which in itself was very good. I suppose my only regret was not stopping in sooner as the fried fish is better here on average than almost anywhere in Jacksonville.

Wow wow wow. That is the bottom line on this one. Wow. We came here after a trip to the zoo and were very, very impressed. We walked in and went to the counter and were impressed by the large, consistent selection of options. Their seafood list is very decent and they even had non-seafood options for my date and didn’t go crazy on their options like some places(who will have escargot, fried catfish, risotto, and tripe all on the same menu). It is a little pricey for a small mom-and-pop joint – $ 25 for the two of us – BUT(big hairy«but» here) it is VERY worth the money! My date got the fried pork chops which were enormous, perfectly prepared, and there were *two* of them on the plate – it was enough to enjoy lunch and have leftovers for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow. I got the special of the day, 20-piece shrimp, hush puppies, and a drink for $ 12. My ONLY complaint about this place is that I got shorted by 4(20%) on my shrimp(which were a little smaller than I would have liked to see). I’m kinda picky about that sort of thing, especially in a case like this where they are so delicious that I want to make sure I get what I am supposed to get! :) Next time, I will count them and let the staff know before I get to the end of the meal. We also had the fried green tomatoes which are in the top 5 best that I have ever had – and I am a burgeoning connoisseur of this appetizer. Their ranch dressing that accompanies the dish is a little thick which, for FGT, I prefer. They also have a variety of sauces throughout the dining room ranging from hot sauce to sweet/tangy datil sauces(and a few in between). The restaurant was PACKED – I mean wall-to-wall – and they eventually opened the«other» dining room(not sure where that was because we were already seated. When you come here, get here early(you will thank me if you do). While we were sitting there enjoying our meal, I was impressed by the speed of the preparation of the meals. I spent a couple of minutes looking through the window into the kitchen and was amazed by how fast their cooks were working. It appears to be two back there and they were on top of their game! I asked if I could get a picture of them at work, but the woman I spoke with was a little uncomfortable with that without the owner being there(which is completely understandable). I am looking forward to coming back here, and will make a special trip if need-be. This is a neighborhood gem that should be enjoyed by everyone – you will be happy you did! EDIT: Forgot to mention their sweet tea. Get this. If you are a sweet tea drinker, than you must try theirs.
