This is a cute spot to grab a casual/quick lunch. It looks like the restaurant attracts an older and loyal customer base. All of the employees were very friendly and chatted with many of the patrons. Also, our food order was out very quickly! I ordered a chicken pita with sprouts and avocado(½ with soup). It was delicious and very fresh! I would definitely order any of the options with chicken again. The soup was a bit too creamy for me, but it was still good. I did not think anything was very unique, but it is a great/local establishment that I would love to continue supporting!

I’ve been to Clara’s Tibits on a few different occasions, mainly on Thursday’s for the salad bar special($ 10 w/drink). Most of the time the bar is fully stocked and the choices are«just okay». If you like your salads topped with various kinds of cold cuts, cheeses, dairy dressings and pastas, then you would find this salad bar bountiful. However, I don’t eat meat, dairy or eggs. So I am limited to just the veggie options. Which are just the run of the mill choices — romaine lettuce, green bell peppers, olives, carrots, tomatoes, celery, alfalfa sprouts, cucumber, chickpeas and croutons. Which again, nothing bad about it, but nothing extra special either. Don’t get wrong, I am happy there is a salad bar so close to my job. I just wish the price point actually matched the options. A variety of lettuces and seasonal fruit would be great start to improving the salad bar. Also like different types of veggies, like peas, corn, beets etc. The one thing that does keep me returning are the lovely ladies that work there. They are always so cheerful, accommodating and really try hard to get people through the line as quickly as possible. I would say A+ to the entire Clara’s Tidbits crew for your customer service. Even small things like checking to make sure the coffee is fresh, or having the to– go boxes ready and prepared with silver ware makes a vast difference in my opinion. I love watching the crew interact with each other. They are so joyful and vibrant! Overall, my experiences here have always been pleasant. And even though the prices are really too high for what you are getting. It really is a good place to go when you want a fresh salad.

Pretty delicious food but not entirely worth the cost of what you pay or how long you wait. I got the sampler salad and the amounts of chicken salad was about the size(total) to a golf ball.

This is a solid lunch spot that fills the void for healthy options. The 3 stars are for two main reasons. The parking is challenging as you need to go around to the back of the building to a large dirt lot to find a space. The bright side however is there was a man wearing a Clara’s Tidbits shirt driving a large golf cart ready to drive you back to the restaurant! My best suggestion would be to order the special of the day. It’s probably the most reasonably priced item. I learned this by asking for the salad bar, dining in. That was over $ 10! I will say it was very fresh with several items to choose from. Pasta salad, tuna salad, potato salad amongst the typical salad bar fixin’s. Unless you refill several times, I’m not convinced the $ 10 price tag is really worth it, especially since a drink costs extra. I did return twice to the salad bar and felt more than content. Everything was fresh and very tasty.

I really, really, really like Tidbits! For a casual lunch spot they do everything right! This location has been here forever and every time I have stopped in the food has always been good… every time… no matter what I have gotten! This place reminds me of a saying«do one thing and do it good» …the menu and food is simple, not complicated, but they just make it taste so good!!! I have tried turkey pita, chicken salad in a pita, ½ sandwich with soup, sampler salad(if you feel like having a salad I highly recommend this!) and the salad bar. You just can’t go wrong with anything you order! Their potato salad is one of the best variations I have ever had(and included in salad bar!) They also run ½ off deals on the site«local flavor» …all good!

Vegetarian Review– Just like the review I gave for Tidbits Express, I will give the original Tidbits the same kudos. I was just here yesterday because my boyfriend loves this place and I’m not going to say no to one of my favorite lunches, veggie avocado pita. The restaurant was packed so the food took a little longer than usual, but it was worth the extra wait. Think parking is a problem? Not here. They have huge parking lots and a golf cart shuttle that takes you to the front door!

I usually come here for lunch… this place I heard is an old fav. Its okay. The first time I tried it… I enjoyed the salad bar… so this time I was like…“hey…ill get the salad bar”. I was not pleased. Im a sucker for ranch dressing and they did not do a good job this time… especially not for $ 10…on Thursday the salad bar is on special if you want to check it out for a cheaper price. As for the ranch dressing it tasted like sour cream… they didn’t do a good job preparing this time. However, this place stays busy during lunch. I have seen lots of people ordering the taco salad… so I may try that next time.

Haven’t been for awhile, but I’m trying lunch places recently. Tidbits is always a steady, great food choice and easily the great comfort food we all need/want pretty often. I’ve loved exploring Jacksonville’s food trucks which I’ve found is hit or miss. I had a particularly bad tuna salad sandwich at a local food truck and had to dump it. 8 bucks gone. It had loads of raw onions in it, and not much flavor. Compared to the tuna salad from unnamed food truck to awesome tuna salad pita from Tidbits is comparing a row boat to a yacht. For .69 more, I have delicious sandwich with large scoop of tuna salad, fresh tomato, lettuce and fruit cup. Always a treat to have leftovers for dinner or lunch tomorrow. Took left over tuna salad in a Ziploc container and will put w/grain crackers for tomorrow Arrived about 11;50 am with half filled dining area but no queue for ordering. Take out was ready before I had free drink filled. Always a hit and will continue making this my nutritious comfort food lunch.

I freaking hate this place, as it is SO good and only open for lunch, M-F. That should tell you how busy it is at lunch — a literal madhouse. But, the small salad bar is pretty magical and their Tuna pita’s are the stuff of legend. their salads, i.e. potato, pasta are amazing as well. Customers tend to be local office workers and San Marco moms. I do love seeing the moms getting salads to be health conscious and to then pile the plates higher than a pyramid and even make a return trip or two! And they probably wonder why they cannot lose weight!!!

I am not a Deli/Sandwich type of person. I prefer more exotic and flavor packed cuisine with unpronounceable names. After having a wrap from Tidbits(catered for corporate event), I cannot help but say Clara’s Tidbits is an exception to my rule. The best part about my Turkey wrap is that is was super fresh and bursting with deli goodness. I couldn’t believe I was enjoying a sandwich this much. All the green bits were crisp and a pleasing bright color, all the red bits were firm and juicy. The many layers of turkey goodness were cocooned in a green wrap. I don’t know what it was but I am most definitely a fan. I plan on checking out their restaurant because I don’t want to wait around for another Lunch and Learn to get my hands on Clara’s Tidbits.

The food at Tidbits is always fresh and tasty. I can not say enough about the staff and how friendly they are. The potato salad is always fantastic. I highly recommend this if you are in the mood for a fast delicious lunch.

This place was extremely packed for lunch when I showed up, which is typical for the area and can definitely be expected. I ordered the chicken salad plate and the chicken salad itself was amazing while the presentation and quality of the ingredients left much to be desired. I also ordered Greg’s chili which was only okay, not very good. This place reminds me of my high school cafeteria which where I’m from is not a very good thing! Good and quick service, below average food.

Sigh. I’m sorry, Unilocalers, but I cannot agree on this 4 star rating. My friends and I were disappointed when we came here. My turkey avocado sandwich was good and large, but the fruit cup accompanying it did not proportionally match in size. And it was expensive! I’ve visited other delis whose sandwich may have been only slightly smaller, but just as good with a bigger fruit dish and at a reasonable price! My friend also didn’t think the chicken soup was anywhere near where the cashier raved it to be. Tasted like canned soup.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant. My co-worker and her husband(who met us there for lunch) took me here for my birthday and treated me :). I’ve always loved eating chicken/tuna salads. Loved it since I was young and will always. I heard this place has the best chicken salad so I went to order the classic chicken salad sandwich on wheat with a side of potato salad. I heard the potato salad is really delicious as well. The inside looked really nice, clean, and comfortable. Nothing super fancy or anything like that which is great for me. The staff are very friendly and attentive. When my sandwich arrived, I thought it was pretty big layered with mayo, lettuce, and tomatoes. Good amount of potato salad which is about the size of a measuring cup(which is plenty). Pickle on side. The sandwich and potato salad where delicious!!! Not too much mayonnaise in the mix and very moist chicken which is how I like it. A lot more chicken salad than you normally get. I would definitely recommend this place to my family and friends. Also, I just found out they have another location on baymeadows road, which is great because it will be closer to me.

Very friendly and hometown feeling inside. Despite being right next to the highway, it’s all smiles and great service once you step in the door. Counter-service, just FYI. I had the chicken salad sandwich with potato salad and it tasted so fresh and delicious, I wish I was staying here more than a day so I could come back and work my way through the rest of the menu.

Tidbits is so delicious! They catered to us at work a lot and their potato salad is so yummy. I usually only like the yellow mustard and mayo kind but theirs is spot on! All of their sandwiches are good they have many types of bread to choose from as well. They come in a cute little plastic lunch box.

Upfront Disclaimer #1: I’ve only had Tidbits for catered lunch at the office. Upfront Disclaimer #2: That was for a job I had many moons ago. That was how my original review was going to start. Until yesterday. So why would I consider writing a review on old experience? Because I still dream of their potato salad. I didn’t like potato salad growing up and I don’t rush to order it now, but Tidbits has some of the best. It really tasted like cold mashed potatoes. Which is a favorite leftover of mine. Tidbits is the quintessential lunch place for those wanting to get out of the office if you work in the San Marco/Southbank area. I was in the area running errands so I decided to stop in and grab some lunch to go. Don’t fret my pet, there is PLENTY of parking behind the restaurant. So make a quick turn and you can’t miss the signs telling you where to go. The café itself is a lot bigger than I thought it would be. Having glanced at the menu before I went in, I knew what I wanted. I went with the Turkey Avocado pita and a side of the potato salad. Add a drink and I was out the door for less than $ 12. The pita is loaded with shaved turkey and fresh veggies. And not too much mayo. The potato salad was just as I remembered. Smooth, creamy, and oh so dreamy.

Part of my new job includes regularly ordering lunch for large groups. My boss told me right away that Tidbits is always popular and was the way to get people on my side. It seems she was right. Their online ordering definitely leaves something to be desired. I struggled a bit to really understand if I was ordering enough or too much food. Turns out my boss was right, the food was a huge hit. My favorites mirrored our group(potato salad, tuna sandwiches) but I didn’t get to try the lemon cake. It was gone before everyone even got their food! I can’t wait to try Tidbit’s other salads(and that lemon cake!).

A friend of mine told me about this restaurant which will be opening another location in Bay Meadows soon. I was interested, so I made my way to its San Marco location. This clean and neat little place probably seats 40 to 50 and it appears to be on the fast food end of the service spectrum. Unlike other fast food venues I associate with, like Wendy’s, this is wholesome, healthy, and divinely inspired. Remarkably, Tidbits serves lunch only, no alcohol, and sticks to its mix of salad, wraps, and sandwiches. One can tell it probably does a good corporate business catering in the local area of San Marco and would be key to making ordinary lunch for everyone else. Good for kids and everyone else. I ordered a Tibits Special, which turned out to be a monster salad with fresh pasta, chicken salad, and dressing on the side. It tasted great. My tab was less than $ 10. Specializing in Lunch only, Tibits is one of the best places I have experienced(way) off of 23rd Street in the Flatiron District of New York City. Friendly and easy to access, I look forward to the next location opening in the future.
