Stellar atmosphere — The salmon & egg breakfast(I flip — flop between blackened or grilled) is a treat to the olfactory nerves and palate — A great place to eat with your family or that special someone — Menu choices are many with daily specials and always tasty! — Great waitstaff. Outdoor seating is also featured — It’s my favorite place in Jacksonville to find for breakfast or lunch.

I’ve only ever had breakfast food here but it has all been delicious. The home fries are more like potato chunks than shreds and coke with sautéed onions mixed in. The potatoes are perfectly browned to be the right amount of in crunchy on the outside & tender in the center. The atmosphere is nice: inside looks like you’d be in a beach somewhere with great black n white«old Florida» photos, outside on a nice day you hear birds, church bells, people chattering and all the other great sounds of San Marco square. Upbeat 80s music just loud enough to hear and not be annoying. The coffee isn’t great but it’s the only thing I could complain about. It’s only ever«ok» and kind of watery. Everything else definitely makes up for it though.

My husband and I arrived in Jacksonville for a business trip on Easter Sunday and most of the city was shutdown for the holiday. We were so relieved to find Beach Diner open for lunch! It was very busy but we didn’t have to wait long for a table. Everyone was very friendly and the service was excellent! Everything on the menu sounded great, but I decided to go with the tuna melt on pumpernickel rye. Nothing fancy but it was exceptional! Order Reina’s cookie sundae for dessert, you won’t be disappointed!

Their chicken vera cruz was possibly the best meal I’ve ever eaten.

Favorite for lunch! Never had a bad meal or bad service. The atmosphere is great with the outdoor sidewalk seating and inside isn’t too loud either. Endless menu choices including a huge breakfast variety and lots of yummy salads. It’s a popular spot so there is often a wait at peak hours, but it moves quickly, and coming a little early or late pays off. Favorite dishes include the eggs Benedict, spinach salad, meatloaf, and shrimp stuffed avocado.

My favorite breakfast place in San Marco. The service is always amazing and you never had to go without a full drink in your hand. They make everything to order and it’s always delicious!

I’m sure the food is delicious, but the service was lacking so we left before being seated. After having several groups who came in after us get seated before us we asked why and were told that only booths had become available and booths were only for 2 people. Funny that 5 booths had 3 or 4 people, including 2 of the groups that were seated before our party of 3.

Service was swift… Susie was personable and sweet! The food came quickly and did not disappoint. My brother ordered the fried fish fillet sandwich and this was no McD’s impersonation. Crispy and fresh– he was satisfied. Mom and I got the same thing, «On the Bayou» Benedict– so fresh(crab meat) and soooooo good! The only thing that would’ve made this a 5 is the waffle wasn’t and brown and crispy as I would’ve liked. I would definitely return!

I was looking for something different for lunch. Working in the San Marco area I have many of choices and I stumbled upon this diner. I got a salad with shrimp and crab meat on it which was delicious. The service was fast and friendly. I came in for the first time, I was greeted handed the menu and had my salad with in the next 15 minutes after making my decision. I highly recommend this nice cute diner in San Marco Square

Great place to stop for lunch. The other reviews state that this restaurant has fantastic breakfast options so I’ll have to return to try that out. Today I ordered the garden pita and it was delicious. It really hit the spot. I also got a taste of my lunch partners tuna and tabouli wrap which also was very good. I walked up and down San Marco Blvd looking for a place that 1) had decent reviews and 2) had outdoor seating. This place had both!

Beach Diner is good. It’s one of those places that you forget about and then you drive by one day and think«Oh yeah, Beach Diner is good. I should stop.» Personally, I prefer their breakfast over the lunch. I’ve eaten my way through several menu items and have yet to come across something that was not good. That being said, their fish tacos were tremendous when I popped in for lunch a while back. The people make Beach Diner such a good place to go. And not just the people who work there. It seems that everyone inside is friendly and chatty. I’ve had several great discussions with complete strangers never to be seen again. Another reviewer mentioned the extensive menu. It is big and it can be cumbersome to read it. And generally I agree that restaurants should do a few things exceptionally well rather than a lot of things poorly. Beach Diner does a pretty good job with everything on their menu that I’ve tried. Will I forget that Beach Diner is nestled away in San Marco? Yep. But I’ll be pumped when I see it again and remember I need to stop in for a meal.

Love this place. I’ve been to this specific location twice when relatives come to town. Always a wonderful atmosphere and great food. I’ve personally had the breakfast burrito and the hamburger before. I enjoyed the quality and taste very much.

As a huge fan of the elusive Diner, I love when a visit goes RIGHT. This quaint location is a great spot for Breakfast, Lunch or Brunch! The wait staff are always inviting, helpful in choosing menu items and you never wait for a refill on your coffee in the morning or Tea in the afternoon. So far I’ve been here 3 times and feel completely at home when I walk in the door by being greet and remembered by my last server from last week. If you live/work in the San Marco area, make it your mission to eat your next meal here!!!

If there was one thing Gordon Ramsey taught me from Kitchen Nightmares it is this: A menu that has too many items on it is not only confusing and overwhelming, it’s likely there’s product not being used and either being wasted or expiring. The gentleband and I were looking to try some place new, I wish we had just gone to a place we knew was good. He ordered the breakfast burrito and I ordered a custom made breakfast sandwich. His burrito was dripping of either grease or butter on the bottom. I added a ton of stuff to my sausage egg and cheese bagel sandwich. Like, spinach, onion, and avacado. After all of that my sandwich didn’t have much flavor and I had to add a ton of salt. My side of home fries were weird. We couldn’t tell if they came in frozen and left in the fryer too long or if you do cut them in house if you fry them all at once and re fry them when an order comes in or what. All I know was that they were dry and tasted like the oil from the pan or the fryer. At least we know for next time. But if I’m going to go to the San Marco Square I think I’ll go to a different notable breakfast place.

This place is brand new. The San Marco Deli closed and theses folks came in and white washed the place and opened up. I mean they just hung some new bead board up and opened the doors. The food was alright the wife was really hungry after a 1 ½ day fast. I had a omelet that was nice and had a fair amount of stuff inside. The wife had corned beef(her go to) hash and eggs. One thing that does bother me is the dry toast with a bowl of little butters on the table. Our server Angel was at times and angel and others no so much. The little things that I always notice. Like can I take your plate and here’s your check. Then let me fill your coffee and here’s your check. So I’m on the fence with the new Beach Diner but then I am a old school kind of guy. I liked the old San Marco Deli.

Breakfast sure did hit the spot! I had corned beef hash and eggs with home fries. Very yummy. Server Angel was swift and friendly. The place is very clean and cutely decorated, to give you that unique beach experience feel. They have outside seating available on the sidewalk which will be much more appealing on a less wintery day. Overall a good experience and wonderful breakfast hit the spot!
