I wish I had met the owner, who is referenced in another Unilocal review. I would have started crying because the Acai Berry Bowls are SOFLIPPINGAMAZING. Seriously, the best I have ever eaten. Came here after the Surf City Half Marathon in 2015 and vowed that when I ran it again in 2016(and did just that!), my return flight would be later in the day just so I could enjoy one of their Acai Bowls x 2. Flight left at 1:15 on 2⁄8 back to DC where, hard as they try, they will never be able to duplicate this amazing slice of heaven. So many choices: same both days: Acai Bowl with blueberries, strawberries, honey, almonds and granola. The small was a generous portion. Staff so polite and helpful. Sitting on the wooden benches, overlooking the Pacific Ocean, realizing how this is true heaven. I felt like I could run another Half Marathon after eating here. Signing up again for the 2017 race, will eat here at least twice. The quality is, hands down, the best! Thank you for being such a great memory of my trip to Huntington Beach. Oh.and oh so reasonable! $ 9 for my loaded Acai Bowl, plus make sure you tip! Is there a frequent visitor card? I was not aware of it and I have now eaten there 5 x in two years. When I come back next year, I will eat there at least 3 more times. Since I live in DC, I know it is sort of a long shot but I feel like a semi-regular already!

Soooo good. Got the Berry Bowl and Island Breeze and my husband and I shared both. Love the consistency of the Acai. We just moved down the street and will definitely be back very soon(as in probably tomorrow morning).

Treavor, the owner was very nice about contacting me about my bad experience. He mentioned to me that there was a misunderstanding about their bowls being pre-made and that everything was organic. I came back for another bowl, but the Acai is still way too sweet for my liking. I prefer bowls blended with other berries to take down the sweetness. Treavor came to the rescue and blended a custom bowl with half acai pure acai and half of their sweetened acai(sorbet?) with some hemp milk. There’s a lot to be said about an owner who takes that much pride in their business and wants the customer to be satisfied. My hat’s off to you, Treavor.

Chefs special! Just do it. My favorite acai place! Delicious thick and smooth acai with the freshest fruit I’ve probably ever had! There’s never any chunks or sticky syrup-like acai here!!!

So I live 4 blocks from this place and have always wanted to try it, and today I finally did… And was I a happy little Asian! I don’t know anything about Acai bowls, just that I like them and I want something with coconut. So I walked up, told the super friendly girl working the counter what I liked, took her recommendation with the island bowl and was not disappointed. I’ve tried Acai bowls at two other places and I always felt that the ratio of ingredients was so uneven and I would end up throwing some away… Not with Acai King, the ratio of fruit, to smoothie, to granola, to all the other goodness was perfect! I definitely recommend this place, everyone was very friendly, and it literally took them a minute to make it from scratch! I’ll definitely be back!

This place is so much better than banzai!!! I got the Chef’s Special and it was so delicious! It was really sweet and you could tell the fruits are really fresh. And the workers there are really nice and they make the place have a good vibe! Lol. I went with my mom, and she doesn’t like banzai bowls, but when she tried Acai King she loved it! This is my new favorite place to get acai! I definitely recommend this place to anyone if they are thinking about trying this place!

Acai bowls are pretty good. Staff is very friendly. However as I’m sitting here enjoying breakfast, a dog walks in and one of the employees spends a couple of minutes petting it and returns behind he counter, without washing her hands… Sure she did a couple of swipes on her shirt, but didn’t actually wash. I know the dog beach is just down the street and we are at the beach, but we honestly don’t know what the dog has rolled around in. Update: sitting on their shared patio again and I happen to glance over at their open box of donut holes which has had, from what I have counted, 3 flies enter and exit the box unhindered. Yuck.

King of acai, indeed. The Acai King is a GEM. Run by Treavor Frost, this little nook in Primo’s Coffee House is where your acai fantasies come true. I mean it. Non dairy, organic, vegan, non gmo and gluten free and Sambazon acai — does it sound any more appealing? YES. Not only do these bowls have a fresh feel, the presentation brings its beauty to a point of admiration — like, do I actually want to eat it or just stare at it as I welcome it into this world of my taste buds, aka my mouth? The employees are so sweet and welcoming + a never-ending bowl of satisfaction, filling yet light and healthy + a guilty pleasure that isn’t so guilty… need I say more? My favorite is the«Chef’s Special,» to get a well rounded taste of all that they have to offer. Beachy ambiance, great location with a little parking lot and steps from the ocean, also providing communal tables for a stay on PCH with a view — and I’m not just talking about the bowls. Acai King, can I be your Queen? xo

BEST Acai bowl ever. I had the Berry bowl, which comes with granola, blue berries, and strawberries. The staff are very friendly. The place reminds me of a typical place in San Francisco. Very low key, yet has so much to offer. It’s conveniently located at the corner of the street and across the street from the beach. Parking is convenient as well. It’s also attached to a coffee/donut place and just next door to a taco joint. Can’t get any better than this. You can do breakfast, lunch, and dinner all in the same corner. All of the seating is located outside. I’ll be back!

I absolutely LOVE the chocolate mint acai bowl! $ 8 for the small, $ 10 for the large. The small is plenty for me! Chocolate hemp milk, bananas, cacao chips, mint, acai… mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Oh! Can’t forget the Gluten Free Granola they use!!! It’s Udi’s granola. No complaints here. My boyfriend got the berry bowl. Tons of fresh blueberries and strawberries on top of his! If you go around 9:30/10 on the weekend there is a little bit of a wait. But to me, it’s worth it!

Cool atmosphere, steady busy, & friendly staff. Acai stand in between donut & taco place. Seating area outside decent with great view of beach. Got the Chef’s Special and it was AMAZINGLY Delicious, best tasting Acai(no watered down taste) the thickness & consistency is perfect, with a lot of fresh fruit– mango, kiwi, strawberry, banana, goji Berry, & coconut shreds, along with granola, good amount for price and filling. Plus they sell smoothies, healthy snacks, including my favorite«real fresh coconut juice» in the coconut shell, I can eat & drink this daily ;)

Don’t get me wrong, their acai is my favorite of all time. So why does the Acai King get a ho-hum rating? Because they are often closed early. I drive from Long Beach just to get a bowl and head to the beach. Today was the fourth time that I’ve arrived to find that these people have closed more than an hour early. Update: after talking with the owner, I stopped by and ordered a large island style bowl. As usual, it was amazing.

My Chef’s special bowl was SODELICIOUS. Just a note … I recently got off of the Whole 30 reset … this bowl gave me a sugar headache like no-other. :(But it was such a good bowl! $ 12 for a large, but definitely worth it with the huge container they put it in and all of the fresh, yummy fruit, honey, and goji berries. Kiwi, mango, strawberries, super perfect bananas, blueberries … and the acai was blended so well, with a lot of granola on the bottom and on the top. It was really, really good. The acai blend was thick and icy. But in a really good way! I drove from here(PCH, on the corner next to Sancho’s Tacos) all the way to the Bella Terra without eating it. Only by the very bottom of this huge bowl did it start to get melty. Quality! My boyfriend got the Peanut Butter bowl, but same thing, recently off the Whole 30 and said it was way sweet. Mmmm… this place was so good, and the employees were super sweet and friendly! Bowls took hardly any time at all, and I actually really loved how they cut a hole in the lid for my spoon to poke out of. It made it really easy to transport. Great idea. :D I love The Acai King. Beats Nekter, Jamba, Birdie, and everywhere else!

The King’s Justice is fair and swift. He also happens to make the best Acai Bowl in all the land. I stopped in here on my way to Banzai Bowl which was a great decision. Keep in mind there is one guy running the Acai operation, so patience is a virtue. As I was waiting to place my order, an aloof spinster of a woman came in and ordered a coffee drink from Primo and casually place her Acai Bowl order with the cute chick from Primo. The Primo chick put’s the order into Acai King’s register. I am a bit put off by this, but hey, maybe he has a system. Fortunately, that crusty old hag’s pussy pass is no good in the Acai King’s domain. He proceeded to bump her ass to the back of the line and declared that if she can’t wait, she does not deserve the Acai King’s services. I was very impressed by this stand up move. People have become intolerably rude lately. Luckily, The Acai King runs his business his way, the right way. Also, The Chef’s Special is ONPOINT!

the BEST acai bowl I’ve EVER had. Better than banzai bowl and any other acai bowl in the proximity! Chef’s special, add a layer of peanut butter – it’s seriously perfection!

Just had an «Island» acai bowl here(with fresh juicy pineapples and mangos) and it was freakin phenomenal. In my opinion, the place on 5th St. that’s always packed with a line out the door is overrated. Yeah they have more options that come with a bunch of different fruit. But it’s really not that satisfying or tasty. And it’s expensive. Go to The Acai King instead. There’s outdoor seating by the beach. Prices are very fair and their acai bowl is a little taste of Heaven. Here’s why: most other acai bowls just taste like a glorified sour smoothie. Let’s be real-There are a bunch of fruits and whatnot on top of a slushy purple base that turns into a lukewarm soup after a while. Everything starts blending into each other and tasting the same and before you know it, you’re wondering why it’s so hard to finish the bowl. Here, the acai portion of the bowl has the texture of a firm sorbet. It’s refreshing, lightly sweet, true to the flavor of acai and almost solid. The granola is laced in the acai in swirls so that you don’t eat all the good stuff/fruit/granola on top before getting to the bottom where it’s just acai. Every bite is well-rounded; in my case, with fresh and juicy pineapples and mangos, honey, and some coconut shavings. Coconut shavings were light, fluffy and stringy, not the thick flakes that are chewy and tough. It was so good I think I finished my bowl in less than 10 minutes. Will definitely be coming back. Try this place if you want to experience Acai bowls the way they’re meant to be enjoyed!

Corner shop, inside the coffee space. YUUMMMM. Amazing customer service. The owner is the only one to make the acai bowls to ensure quality, taste and presentation are second to none. These bowls and the shopkeeper definitely are Unilocal-worthy, delicious, satisfying, amazing. My girlfriend got the chocolate mint bowl… there was REAL, FRESH mint in the acai. Sooooo yummy AND healthful! Definitely coming back.

So happy to have found this place. Right down the street from my home, close to the beach, shopping and great scenery. Its a really small location nestled amongst a couple other places, but definitely worth a visit. They have juice, smoothies and acai bowls that I saw on the menu and have a wide variety of all. I got a large acai berry bowl and couldn’t get it down fast enough. Great price, ingredients and taste! I will definitely be a regular here. I can’t wait to try everything on the menu.
