Verdir At Hermann Park

The parking garage gate malfunctioned and hit the car of a friend as my friend was entering the garage. The Verdir has done nothing to compensate (brand new car). Work crews come and park their heavy machinery trucks on the sidewalks– the sidewalks are cracked and broken from the weight of the trucks.
I should also mention the multiple thefts from the parking garage and building hallways. An ATV 4 wheeler was stolen from the garage; doormats, wreaths and paintings have been stolen from the building hallways.
Then you have the idiots who race through the parking garage like its a Grand Prix track.
I would never rent here; I hope my friend does not renew her lease.

I honestly do like this apartment complex since management has changed. Before they were all over the place but now I think they are figuring out the kinks. My biggest complaint is the gym. They have a couple machines that do not function properly. Especially both of the elliptical machines and the the treadmill next to the mirror. They also have the leg extension machine that is a bit broken. I honestly would love for this place to bring in items that worked. They don’t have to be brand new, just functioning. A smith machine would be nice. Just wanted to bring that to light.

New Management is the WORST. Words cannot describe how awful the management staff is (new management took over a couple months ago). I’ve been here for a year. Last management was bad… the new ones are even worse. My unit was burglarized in May and they did not fix my door. Instead ‘allowed’ me to sign a new lease. And I can not WAIT for it to be up, so I can get the heck out of here. The only other option I had was to sleep in an unsecured unit and let my previous lease play out. I do not recommend this place to ANYONE.

I have been a resident for 1.5 years and have really enjoyed living here. Michael and Brad were absolutely GREAT and I couldn’t do this review without mentioning them! However, both are no longer here and the apartments have a new group of front-​desk people whom are also great :]. I love the fact that they remember my apartment number whenever I come in to pick up my long-​overdue packages. Also, whenever there was a lost rent-​check, they made the effort to contact me instead of charging me a late-​fee. These people really work with you!
The major reason why I picked these apartments were 1.) the HUGE closets, 2.) proximity to the UH campus, 3.) hardwood floors. The staff and residents are VERY kind. The residents are a mixture of students, some families, and I think some patients getting treatment at the med center. The maintenance team has always gone out of their way to be nice and have chit-​chat. Small issues in the apartment are always handled immediately. One time I had a leak coming from the bottom of my shower. First they tried to patch up. When that didn’t work, they replaced my WHOLE shower.
I feel that the front office should always employ at least 2 workers in case one needs to do a tour/​go to lunch. That way, the office will always be open to residents (to pick up packages). I’m a busy girl so it’s a hassle to come by the front office and see that it’s closed. And lastly, the G2 level of the garage floods quite a bit, so I have to wear rain boots to walk to my car. However, I ALWAYS see maintenance trying their hardest to scoop/​sweep the water away.
Overall, I recommend these apartments!

I just moved to Houston and can’t express how friendly and accommodating the office staff has been. A great staff makes all the difference when you’re an apartment dweller like me!

Ok so we’re on a hunt for a new place to live since our lease is up in Feb. Yes we are looking really early, but Chris’ work season starts soon; and I really need his input because chances are he won’t be around when the time comes to look. I came across this complex via my locator, Harold Strickland at Renter’s Resource; Harold knows about my standards and led me in the direction of Century Hermann Park.
Ok, it is not exactly smack dab IN the Med Center so I can live with this PLUS it is less than 2 mi from my job. As we walked up, we were intrigued with the interior and feel of the place. We were immediately greeted by Michael who is charming, professional and very charismatic; I totally love this about a complex because it says alot about what you have to look forward to if you live there. We had a great time with Michael and felt at ease talking to him about pretty much any and everything.
He walked us around and talked about the previous property owners because they have this really cool business center that looks like a wine cellar. As it turns out, it actually was a wine storage for tenants by the previous property owners, but the keys were never turned over to them; and there are TONS of wine bottles in there, lol.
The gym was very surgical or sterile looking (lol) and is very cold but has a great view of the pool. We viewed a Barcelona floor plan, and I was completely in love with the dark wood floors! The kitchen was nice and spacious; we viewed one that had dated appliances, but should we move here, we are going for the updated, modern plan with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops.
The space was great; and eventhough there is no separate stand up shower (sorry babe), there are double vanities separated from one another so my makeup and accessories do not overflow into Chris’ space, lol!
We actually met a few residents who spoke highly of the property as well and the staff; we even had one couple tell us to move now, lol. This is awesome because I tend to do that when people come to our lofts as well.
Oh yeah, Michael was kind enough to even show me another floor plan that had the «bigger» kitchen that had an island; the floor plan was a 2bed/​bath, but the kitchen is the same. I think If we do decide on this complex, we may stick to the Barcelona plan because I was not to keen on the «bigger» kitchen; eventhough there is an island, it seems to actually elongate the kitchen and make it more narrow instead of making it bigger.
Michael also was kind enough to give us a $ 100 voucher and signed it for us so that it would still be honored at the time of our decision which I thought was cool. He introduced us to another young lady in the office who was very upbeat and friendly.
Things are looking up because we are now leaning more towards this complex. Should you be looking and interested in checking this place out, ask for Michael!

Do not lease here. The manager is crazy and will yell at you for calling. Every other person I spoke to there was not knowledgeable since they just started work. Signed an application to lease and never heard back from management. I had to fax in a formal letter of complaint and drive back to the actual office multiple times before I could get my deposit back.
