I don’t know why some people are saying negative things about Maria. I’ve never once had a problem with her. Sydney is also very helpful. Everyone that works at this store is super professional, isn’t pushy about asking for help, and when you ask for help, are actually happy to help you. This store’s layout is so nice, organized, and ALWAYS clean. I love it! I love Torrid and this is my go-to spot in the Houston area. I’ve never once had a bad experience here.

I think this is the best location in the city. Always very clean and easy to shop. The staff is very helpful and Amelia is a wonderful store manager. She is professional at all times even when faced with a difficult«customer«. It’s a shame that some of the clientele that frequents this location are rough around the edges and give the staff an unnecessary hard time when it comes to little things like the price and using multiple coupons etc. They can’t give the stuff away for free and the merchandise is already priced low compared to some other brands out there. Can’t wait to get back in there and see the great staff that works there!

This place is horrible. Maria is terrible amelia is terrible. every time i walk in there the same two girls help me out roxy and sydney or cindy?. they are amazing they actually care about how your day is going and care to ask about what youre looking for. they make an amazing team. the clothes are amazing but the two women there are horrible and everytime i ask for the DM they try to get me out of calling her. Maria and amelia are clearly not made for retail.

Horrible customer service! Unprofessional, rude, and uncaring staff. Will NEVER return! Too many other great places to shop in the Galleria that are not selling overpriced low quality clothes!

Do not shop here! The company itself is great and the clothes are gorgeous. However Torrid in the Galleria makes me want to stop shopping at Torrid altogether. Maria the manager is rude and if she doesn’t want you in her store, her face will tell it all. For the life of me I cannot even figure out why they would have a woman who is clearly NOT plus size as the manager in a PLUSSIZE store. The remodel of the store looks great but someone should have remodeled her. Ladies don’t waste your time here. Take your money to another location that values their customers more. There are plenty to choose from in the Houston area. Baybrook is my fav and check out the new location in First Colony Mall in Sugar Land!

I love Torrid. I remember when I first discovered them so many years ago. They now have a nice eclectic mix of plus size clothing. However, it is especially friendly for the younger or trendy set that doesn’t want mom or preppy clothes. I do think their prices are a bit high, but they do have good sales especially online. Make sure to sign up to become a diva member for extra savings.

I am a fan of plus size clothing stores with style. I shop at Torrid often, but it can be a bit much for me. Im not into hello kitty shirts, pirates of the caribbean jewelry or bedazzled anything. The have OK things, the quality can be lacking. After spending $ 60 on a pair of jeans I just want them to not rip after 2 months, this has happened 3 times. If they would come down on their prices and have a better quality of product they would be getting a better review. This is just the only reasonably priced plus size clothing I have found.

Looking for plus-size clothing that isn’t Mother of the Bride caliber can be a truly daunting, and sometimes depressing, task. I haven’t found anything in regular department stores that is remotely close to my sense of style(really, just because I’m fat doesn’t mean I should wear a full-length skirt – if anything, it should be the reverse). I’ve had pretty good luck getting clothing from online-only retailers, but Torrid is one of the few places in town in which I can just walk in and buy something super cute off the rack for a last-minute occasion. The staff at this store are SO nice. There’s one woman, Stormy, who’s especially good – she can just take a look at you and recommend a size, which is usually spot on. I’ve noticed the customers are generally nicer than your typical mall store too. I think everyone’s so happy to be finding cute clothes in their size, saying«excuse me» is no big deal. Torrid used to be Plus Sized Hot Topic, but they’ve fortunately expanded past that – to urban and club wear, lacy and feminine dresses, and pin-up fashion. There’s also a wide range of occasions that the store is good for – weekend wear, work-appropriate clothing and even semiformal. I’m a bridesmaid in my friend’s wedding and after trying on dress after dress that said«16» but was really more like«12» at regular department stores, I walked in, found a fabulous dress in the right color, and it was problem solved with only minimal alterations(strap was too long). Yesterday I needed a dress that would transition from bridal shower to bachelorette and found a perfect black-and-white floral printed dress with POCKETS, my favorite. I would highly recommend the shoes as well. They are insanely cooomfortable. I would go here even if I wasn’t a fat girl because they’re so cushy. The only gripe I have is that sometimes the construction can be less than quality. I have a few pencil skirts that I wear to work on a rotating basis(never been much of a pants girl) and on one of them the seam started to unravel pretty quickly. Come on – if you’re marketing to Rubenesque women, you need to enforce your seams. But luckily it’s nothing I can’t fix in a few minutes with my grandmother’s sewing machine. In short: Torrid is a lifesaver.

Walking around the Galleria… we stumbled on Torrid. This is a place I had only«window shopped» online but had never bought anything from. So I was excited to be able to try on stuff and see how their clothes fit before I bought anything online. I walked out of here after spending way more than I had ever planned on spending, but had three of the best fitting pairs of jeans I had bought in years. Once I got back to Dallas I had to get online and find if we had a store up here. We do! SCORE!

I love this store and well I could live there… I have a hard time finding clothes that fit, I love how they size the clothes. for a change I am a size one, heh I haven’t been that size since I was in pre-k…LOL. I love the variety of clothes they have and the gals that work there ROCK! They are so nice and are a lot of help… I love to shop their clearance at the end of summer for tank tops and shorts… It’s a great store! Check it out!

Without Torrid, I might just be another fat, dumpy, quite tragic girl. I may have been steering in just that direction during the latter years of college. You know– sneakers and flip-flops, old teeshirts and even older jeans.(Not that there’s anything wrong with that; I still wear that stuff. I just rock it harder.) But beneath that shoddy exterior, I had attitude inside – and the alter-ego sassy girl in the drab college-kid clothes needed out, needed it real bad. You see, most plus size clothiers tend to OD on the elasty-waists and ponchos. But sometimes in efforts to cover and drape, no matter how pretty or sheer the fabric, you just end up looking larger. And at least 10 years older. And a gazillion times frumpier. More material just isn’t the answer – my body isn’t a magic trick! Illusions can only go so far! Torrid literally changed me. With my first purchase there, a tulle-edged black and white retro polka dot dress, I felt like the real me was represented. I went on to buy punkrock pleated skirts, more dresses, cute shoes, and pairs upon pairs of jeans.(sans elasty-waist!) Since those first purchases, Torrid has gone a little more feminine and and little less subculture-oriented, but the same principles apply; they aid and inspire me to seek my own style, not concede to other people’s plus-sized expectations. A trip to style-forward London and a visit to Torrid was all I needed to whip my style sensibility back into shape. Why hide when you can flaunt? Torrid has several locations sprinkled all over the US as well as a great online shop. The one in the Houston Galleria is definitely my favorite. There are two unexpected pluses(pun intended) to shopping at Torrid: 1. The salespeople are just as empowering as the clothes. They’re lively, they’re fun, and most of all, they’re helpful. You just can’t leave the store feeling fat and ugly– I dare you to try. 2. Skinny girls are always asking me where I got my clothes! Torrid style transcends size boundaries; these clothes are kickin’ and they know it.
