Supermatic Cleaners

I’ve been here several times and have had no issues that are stated below. Great for dropping off before work (open at 7). I go primarily out of convenience. Prices are a little high in my opinion but for standard, simple service — it works.

I’ve been using this place for about 6 months.
I sent in about 20 of my and my husbands work shirts and if the first 4 I’ve worn 3 of them have ripped in the sleeve. One was a two month old shirt, one was a silk shirt and the other was a cotton shirt. They were from Talbots, and two from banana. I’m slightly annoyed but calling them made everything worse. Told me it was my fault for owning old clothes :/​these were all at most 1 year.
That said I keep most of my clothes for 10 – 15 years without ever tearing them. I’ve never actually seen a shirt tear. Let alone 3 in 3 weeks.
I won’t be going back. They will do nothing– said the shirts are worn. :/

So let me just first say This place is WAY overpriced. I am from Ohio and moved to the heights. I saw that they did alterations, so I decided to try this place out on a skirt I needed taken in. In Ohio, I had a lady that was amazing and never charged as much as this place does for a mediocre job. They didn’t even make me try it on. Then ON TOP of that they overcharged me! They gave me a price of how much it would cost, I came to pick it up and they added more onto what I owed! How dare someone charge more onto something I explained fully when I dropped it off and then magically charge me more for the service. I was baffled. I will never return back to this place. It doesn’t seem very legit, I will go to a professional alteration next time around and I am sure they will charge much less.

I really wanted this place to work for me as its closest to the house. There’s simply too much competition in the area for them not to be on time opening up, more professional and more empathetic when they screw something up for a customer. I’ll drive a ½ mile further for a better dry cleaner.

NO STARS DON’T USE THIS PLACE!!! I took a comforter in for stain removal. I was promised a call back to confirm they could remove stains or not. No call, so I went back several days later. Could not remove stains AND they made stains of their own! I showed them the faded out spots, which were not on existing stains. They again said they would look into it and call me back. No call still! Waited 2 weeks and came back only for them to say they didn’t do it. When I asked to speak to the owner they told me I would be called. I asked for a number and a name, they refused to give me even a name! This was a new $ 180 duvet cover that is ruined! This business is shady at best with horrible customer service.

They don’t even deserve the one star. I am new to the Heights area and I brought in a silk organza dress that I wanted to wear to a formal two days away. They WASHED the dress. The fabric was stiff and had completely lost its sheen. The dress was MORE wrinkled than when I brought it in! When I let them know what happened they argued that they couldn’t do anything unless I brought the dress back in to their shop to show them the damage. I wouldn’t take my clothes there again if THEY paid ME!

When I first started bringing my dry cleaning to Supermatic, it seemed to be pretty well priced, and the Indian lady who is usually working there is incredibly nice. It’s an off-​site cleaners though, which I generally tend to avoid, just in case my shirts grow legs or something in transit. But I haven’t had too much trouble here, except once when I was getting a pocket sewn on a pair of pants I had torn. It was fixed well, but took quite awhile to get them back between repair time and transit. I have since found a better priced cleaners in the Heights, so I probably won’t be patronizing Supermatic again. If you’re looking for a convenient spot though, just off I-​10, where you can drop-​off and pick-​up on your way to and from work, Supermatic is a solid choice.
