It was rainy on Saturday night and my dad had to run into Apple for a genius bar appointment. My mom and I scurried around and I asked her if we could run into Lucy because the sale had an additional 40% promotion and I was looking for something particular. I owned one of the two designs/color schemes of the perfectly poised legging, a legging with a «foot sleeve»(like a wide stirrup) that has sticky grips on it for barre/Pilates which eliminates the need for a grip sock when working out. The pants retail at $ 98 which is just ridiculous(I bought my first pair on sale). On , the other color was on sale but my size was unavailable. I scanned the sale rack and found ONEPAIRLEFTINMYSIZE(bargain hunters know how exciting this is). The cashier asked me if I needed a fitting room, but I declared that I knew it fit me and I noticed it had been marked down twice($ 78.99 then $ 54.99). I figured $ 55 was okay considering I could only get it for $ 78.99 at another online retailer that still had this size(I really do my research to find the best deal when bargain hunting). When she rang it up, it was 40% off again(woops! I thought that tag reflected the final price). With tax, the leggings were $ 35! I left, chirping in glee at the surprisingly low price and finding exactly what I wanted!

Anytime I hear the word BOOTYPANTS, I have to go check out what they what the deal is. I had heard Lucy had some great work out gear, so I skipped over to Highland Village to check it out. First off, I am a LOYAL Lulu fan,(seriously I need a group) so anything that wasn’t up to Lulu standards was going to be a tough sell for me. Although I was thinking if the clothes were cheaper I could justify it. The issue is, they aren’t, and the quality isn’t that of lulu. The sales people were very friendly and helpful, but the clothes just weren’t that cute. Muted colors, and drab details. Blah. The supposed«booty pants» fit WAY too high in the waist, and made me feel like Erkel from Family Matters. The stuff on sale wasn’t really on sale, and I didn’t find a big savings on anything. I did grab a cute burnt orange top with built in bra I think I can run in, and grabbed 4 pair of socks for $ 20, along with a cute double head band. I don’t want to look like a 20 year old with bling on my butt, but I also don’t want to look like my 80 year old grandma either. Their clothes are a bit puzzling, and I walked out of there wondering who exactly is their demographic, because it certainly isn’t me. In the end I ended up walking right across the street to my one and only.

This store is tucked away in the same shopping center as anthropology and williams & sonoma. Although I liked the employees because they were very helpful-the fit of the clothing wasn’t for me. It seemed to all be a size or two larger. I gather this store is for a older female, like someone who is lying about the size of their clothing. I recommend Lululemon or prana if you are looking for yoga clothing.

I basically live in Lucy and own nearly all of their products, I have noticed however that the fabrics that have cotton in them, dont wear or wash as well as their high tech fabrics, they also seem to not retain the dye in the clothing when it has alot of cotton in it. So i stick to high quality fabrics at Lucy, actually not hard to do since they pride themselves on the quality… so basically just avoid cottons, like any hoodies, shorts or tees that are a colored cotton. The staff there is always super friendly, borderline pushy, but I think they have a genuine love for the product they are selling and just cant wait to point out the features and benefits! This is a great store and If you run, walk, do yoga or anything in between(except for biking)… Oh and if u ask for a coupon. they’ll give it to you! A must go for anyone who wants to look good and feel great! p. s. no joke, the SOCKSROCK

There’s something that just isn’t 100% about this shop. Well, not just one something, but a few, very important somethings. I like the work out clothes here. Not all of them, just their basics. They’re simple, yet have some pretty cute details and are well made. Mind you, these aren’t some gross, Nouveau Riche gaudy details involving gold bows or sequins. Just a gather here or there. Piping. Crisscrossed straps in the back. Clever hiding places for keys or cash. So, where does this misfire? Several tiny places. The price tag. Non sale items range from about $ 48-$ 80. Not bad for something that will last hopefully a couple of years, yes? Well, they’re not THAT cute and don’t fit that well. The styling. The clothing options as a whole are geared towards yoga. Unless you really want to get your Namastè on, this can get a bit tiresome. Also, the fit of the clothes is a bit off. Enough to irk me that I «paid $ 54 for these jogging pants and they fit like the $ 21 pair I got at Target.» So, I usually just return the $ 54 pair to the rack and head to Target. Or bite the bullet and spend a few more coins across the street at Lululemon. Some of the other shoppers and a few of the staff. Some staff are very nice, helpful, and friendly. Other staff and 70% of the shoppers are a bit passive aggressive. Without calling any older angry age groups out… no, I won’t say it, but well, you may perhaps get the idea. Those tiny misfires aside, If you are in the market for new workout clothes, this should definitely be on you list of stops.

After Adidas and Bebe sports, Lucy is the third best store I like buying my workout apparel from. I was there last week to stock on some essentials. I like their style, very feminine. Its not just some boring olé black tank top or rock ‘n’ roll Grandma tights.
They have vibrant colors and innovative styles. They have 70% sale going on on their workout pants — So get there before it ends.

Lucy is my go-to place for workout apparel of any kind. Although prices are kind of high, the quality is unmatched. Literally every single piece of workout gear I own is from Lucy, and through all the wear and tear, they all still look fabulous. The best clothing items in this store are the pants. There are pants for every length, workout régime, and body type. They’re flattering, the material is stretchy and comfortable, and they’re nice enough to wear around on the weekends. Throw a couple pairs of these pants, a few Lucy t-shirts for layering, and a matching zip-up jacket in a bag, and you’ve got the perfect chic & comfy travel wardrobe. If you’re trying to save a few bucks, check out their website. There are always tons of good sales(this is the only way I buy the t-shirts: they’re too expensive otherwise). Plus, if you sign up for their mailing list, you’ll regularly get 20% off deals and other coupons.

I teach yoga so I am always on the lookout for good workout stuff. I went into Lucy’s because of the adorable yoga t-shirts they had on display(my favorite is a laughing buddha with the caption«shake your buddha»). Beyond the t-shirts, they have just really good workout stuff. It’s a little on the pricey side, but there is always stuff on sale, and it’s good quality clothing that isn’t going to fall apart after one wear. The store itself is cute and trendy. It is tucked into a corner in Highland Village so you have to look for it. The sales staff are freindly and give appropriate advice on available options. All in all a nice choice for clothes to get your sweat on.

Like Kim T. I was first attracted to Lucy’s because of the cute T’s. But their yoga pants and pretty sweat suits keep me coming back. I can still wear everything I have bought at Lucy’s. Their clothes truly last. And you can find clothes made from sustainable materials like bamboo and organic cotton. I have to confess that I don’t always buy just for workout clothes here… I have a few tops that I wear regularly and I consistently get compliments on them. They have a great collection of various pants that can fit any body type for any use. Also they will fit you with a sports bra for various uses. Though they are a little pricey, it is worth it as the products will definitely last and make you feel good about yourself even while you are sweatin’ it up!
