Cozy little store, with helpful and friendly staff. But be aware about their signage — sometimes it’s deceiving. Yesterday I tried to get a bag of apples on sale for $ 1.99. It was only one sign for apples, next to which was only a sign for mixed apples/oranges. On the register this bag was ringed up for $ 6.99, cashier went to check the price and told me the bags of different weight were piled all together what was a reason for the confusion. Today I went there to pick up another product and was surprised: it was still one sign for different bags of apples, plus no sign for newly brought oranges. The Produce manager whom I explained the issue told me that customers need to learn how to read the weight on the labels and compare to sign. He took the bigger bags away from the pile and mentioned that staff need to be trained better to distinguish stocking items. When I noted the lack of communication between cashiers and upper level staff is a sign of bad management, he said that it is not. I understand how short-handed retail could be. However, in this situation, I think, just to say Sorry and to correct issue would be better approach than argument with a customer.

Basic Kroger. This is an older Kroger that carries all of the basic food items you need and some organic products, but it is pretty limited in variety when compared to the newer, bigger stores. The produce section is never as fresh as I hope, but it is usually fully stocked. The layout of the store is a bit counter-intuitive, with frozen foods in the middle and dairy products across from paper items, but it gets the job done. Beware if you go during peak times(either lunchtime or 5:00 pm), there are not many check out stands and the lines get very long, very quickly. The staff is nice, but they always seem to be distracted talking to each other to really pay much attention to the customers. Parking is easy, but beware of inattentive drivers — this parking lot is full of them. Sundays are the worst, just park on the side of the store and save yourself from the stress. Cheers!

Unsafe parking lot. My father bought a few items here and then decided to go back into the store to use the restroom. But he made the mistake of leaving his car door unlocked in the parking lot. Some riff-raff were staking out the parking lot and decided to steal his purchases from the front seat of the car. The Kroger manager was too lazy to do anything, even though the parking lot is almost certainly monitored by video cameras. The least he could done was to offer to replace the stolen items, valued at about $ 25.

This Kroger is one of the older ones in town. It’s a bit outdated, but you can still find what you need. It’s not fancy by any means. I tend to just go to the one on shepherd, which is old too, but a bit brighter.

I give this store five stars because for me personally it has been a five star experience everytime. Close enough to bike to, and places to lock bikes up. Parking lot is calm and spots are available up front. Produce section is fresh and if something isn’t out, just ask. The employees are helpful. They don’t have everything, but they have the essentials and I am thankful for that. Their flowers are beautiful and tempting as well. That’s all I got!

Good for a small neighborhood grocery

14 people in line, 2 registers open and manager isn’t opening another. He’s bagging. WTF! No wonder I normally drive to 11th street even when this is more convenient.

This is your basic, bare-bones«neighborhood» grocery store. It’s not a big store where you do all your shopping; it’s the place where you go to pick up a few staples.(The biggest problem for me is that they don’t even sell basic drug store makeup.) Keeping that in mind, this place is not too bad! It’s generally pretty clean, never overcrowded and parking is a breeze. The location is pretty convenient and cashiers have been quick and kind. If you just need a few things, it’s much easier to come here than the Kroger on 11th.

Well the 80’s called and wanted their graphics back… and they got ‘em! Old school Kroger has lost it’s 80’s look and, as a friend recently said, «Your Kroger is gettin’ fancy!» They may never sell alcohol, but this location is getting a full-on facelift! I am even sensing a bit more pride in the staff that works there and a lot more cleanliness in the produce section(yay!). Now if they can just figure out how to get the delivery guys in that back door in a timely fashion. I have walked my dogs down 21st many times and seen delivery guys hanging out waiting for the store to open their doors for delivery for sometimes 10 + minutes. How frustrating for those guys!

This is your typical neighborhood grocery store. It’s not like the amazing Kroger on 11th that literally has EVERYTHING but is also packed to capacity all day, everyday. This one is not like that. It is not a chaotic shopping experience and you can even get a front parking spot(like I did during my first visit). It’s easy to get around and even easier to get in and out if you just need a few things. I think I’ll make this my go-to store from now on. I’m glad I found it so I don’t have to deal with the monstrosity Kroger down the road.

Just a token organics section, lousy meat and produce selection, and kind of sad looking inside and out. Plus, this is in the dry area which means no beer or wine. The only plus here is that it is not nearly as hectic as the 11th and Shepherd location so you can slip in and out fairly quickly even during the prime hours like right after work. But if you’re looking for a quiet grocery store then you might as well go to the Fiesta on Studewood that has a beer and wine and better organics, meats, and produce.

This is your basic grocery store when you need to get the bare necessities like eggs, milk & bread. Their produce is pretty terrible. But this store is kinda good when you need to quickly go in and get out. When you walk in it is like going through a tear in the time continuum and you get transported back to 1953. Everyone is supper nice with lots of older clientele doing their daily shopping. On many occasions I have been asked to help get something from the top shelf. Of course I will help grams! So if you are mising your granparents check this place out. Or if you need to quickly buy something basic and dont want to mess with the cluster f-word that the 11th st is then just come here. Plus you will probably not run into anyone you know so if you are still wearing that shirt from last night’s happy hour or your scooby pjs and need to get condoms, this is the store for you my friend

The store is a fair size and the lines aren’t usually long, but they don’t sell alcohol at all. It’s fine if you just need a few common things, but I usually just drive the extra distance to the location on Shepherd and 11th.

Friendly, no lines, huge floral selection and has all the basics! The ‘massive kroger’ on shepard has well… everything. Except my no lines and friendly faces!

This is not a Signature Kroger. No pharmacy. No photo center. Mediocre selection. Self check out? Nope. Don’t come looking for an organics section either. Parking is always a breeze because their lot is huge. This store seems smaller inside than most(but larger than disco Kroger). They still have a decent produce selection. They do a good job at keeping things clean & orderly. I usually stop in if I’m on the way home & only need a few staple items. Lines tend to be shorter here, you have to love that. So maybe they are lacking self check out, but at least this Kroger is keeping their employees employed. :) Plus, I kind of like the fact that this one hasn’t changed yet since this one is located in the Historic Heights district. It’s not big & showy, you just know it’s there.
