I was in the neighborhood and I have ordered a chicken biryanis to go, it was nasty taste and one piece of broken chicken leg. It looks like he just filled up from the buffet plate, never eaten worst biryani like this in my life. It should be closed and go out of business soon. Not worth even a single star.

I was able to try the buffet and they earned back a star. All of the food was delicious and they had a wide variety of options. They’re one of the few Indian buffets to feature biryani, which is my favorite, so that was a definite plus. They had kheer(rice pudding) and gulab jamun for dessert and that alone put them above another nearby Indian buffet which only has lackluster carrot halwa and mango mousse. In general I like their food, especially the biryani and curries. I could do without their saag paneer and chicken tikka masala. They’re not horrible at Kings, I’ve just had much better, and Kings has their own dishes that they do well.

Don’t let the outer appearance fool you! My sister and I have been here a few times and we both love this place, especially their chicken biryani! They have a variety of dishes and my favorites are butter chicken, saag paneer, and chicken tikka masala. Not only do they serve you naan, but the waiter asked us if we’d like to try their puri. We had no idea what that was and asked for it and we enjoyed the fluffiness of it! I knocked off one star because their ladies room was really dirty when I walked in. Other than that, their service was good and so was their food.

Recently, I finally had a chance to dine at King’s Chicken Tandoori Cuisine. And I’m still trying to process the experience. After passing the establishment numerous times, today I decided to give them a try. Upon arrival, the hostess guided me to my table, yet she didn’t explain how the buffet worked, didn’t ask what I wanted to drink, just left me standing there. While I was a little perplexed by this, I just directed myself to the buffet table. The buffet was good. A little bit better than most of the Indian lunch buffets in the area, with a variety of lunch dishes to choose from. I really enjoyed the chicken tandoori, it was very tender and not dried-out like some of the other restaurants in the area. The chicken tikki masala was also good, very tender with a slight kick of spiciness in the sauce. Again, I had no problem with the cuisine, my issue was with the service I received. While dining at the restaurant(and mind you, I’m the only customer in the restaurant), other than asking me what I wanted to drink, the hostess didn’t bother to check on me at all during my dining experience. After I completed my meal, I waited and waited on my bill. I glanced up a couple of times to see the hostess texting on her cellphone. Didn’t mind that she was on her cellphone, but it would have been nice to check on the customers from time to time. Realizing that she wasn’t coming to wait on me anytime soon, nor give me my bill, I decided to get up and ask her where should I go and pay. She allowed me to pay at the hostess desk, where I paid for my meal with a credit card. After the young lady swiped my card for payment, rather than handing it back to me, she threw my card back to me and it landed on the desk! Very big no-no for me, every customer needs to be treated with the utmost respect. While every ounce of my being told me not to give the young lady a tip, but I did. One of us had to have some class in the experience, even if the other one didn’t. Due to the experience part of me says not to go back, but due to the fact that the restaurant has a dinner buffet and it is very close to home home I probably will. When and if I do, I hope that they experience is a better one.

A solid halal Pakistani buffet in a semi formal dining room. Located in an aging retail shopping strip, this restaurant is a diamond in the rough. The food is notnas spicy as most expect. The grilled items are adequate but lack the freshness or smoked and charred flavor you get from a bundu khan or similar bbq specialist. I would stick to biryani and other masalas. Mithai is also average.

We tried this place out searching for a good Indian food restaurant. The owner was very friendly and polite as well as our server(a fellow Aggie). Food was very good. It is more Pakistani, which is a lot similar to Indian, slightly different spices. We had palak paneer, bhindi masala and vegetable pakora, and of course nann. Food tastes very fresh. We will eat here again for sure. Thanks and Gig ‘em ’12

I must have eaten at more than a dozen Indian restaurants in Houston as well as London and India. I fancy myself very judgmental about Indian food. I’m usually not a buffet person but the lunch buffet in this place is great! The tandoori chicken is succulent, moist and flavorful. The goat Karahi was wonderful and spicy. The off buffet lamb chops were phenomenal. This is a nice restaurant, not a dive by any measure. It has one of the most reasonably priced, high quality buffets.

If the locals know the best places to eat in town, this would be one of those places the locals should know. Don’t be fooled by the appearance walking up to the front door, the place is quite large and very well decorated inside. This is a Pakistani buffet restaurant with 10 – 15 options to choose from. The serving table is set up nice and neat and all of the food I sampled was excellent. Nam was delicious as was the spinach cheese and rice pudding. Kebabs, curry, tandoori chicken and the other things I cant pronoun — all excellent. They are not shy with the heat level here. Some of the food is quite spicy but the flavor and spices blend in well with the heat. This is an authentic place and one you should bookmark for your Pakistani food fix.

My boyfriend and I came in today wanting to try a new eatery. Location is kind of hidden and parking was ok due to neighboring businesses being closed for today. The interior looked very beautiful and had some nice instrumental Indian music playing in the background. Temperature was a bit chilly for my liking though. Layout of the Buffett is simple and small. Didn’t have any heat lamps but they did have burners keeping the food nice and hot. The Chicken Biriyani was very delicious(went for seconds) and their Tandoori Chicken hit the spot! Their naan was so fresh and warm It just made my heart happy. My boyfriend had the saag paneer and enjoyed the taste of it. A couple down falls… My boyfriend had ordered a salted lassi and let’s just say it was more salt than lassi. We tried the chicken kabab and it had a very bland taste. We also did have to keep asking for refills on our waters but we did give the gentleman who seated us the BOTD since he was cleaning and organizing. You’ll be fine wearing a casual attire to dine here and the noise level was very low which I like. Their lighting for the restaurant was not too dim but also not blinding. Felt like lighting from my home. Overall our experience was a good one and the staff was very nice. Just needs improvement on the food and drinks and possibly a better location

Taste = Average Ambiance = Above Average Dinner Buffet Menu Selection = Below Average Restroom Cleanliness = Worse… Very dirty Service = Below Average Food tasted average. Hated the salad bar. Very weird items in the salad bar that doesn’t go well with the Indian paki food. Tongs to pick up stuff in the salad bar were made of very cheap plastic. They didn’t open enough. Restrooms were very very very filthy dirty. Service was bad. You had to actually tell the waiter what needs to be refilled otherwise they don’t pay attention to the buffet dishes or salad bar items. Seekh Kababs looked like sausages. Tandoori chicken didn’t taste that good. May be if you are foreigner it might taste ok but for Indian/Pakistani people I think it’s below average. Personally I didn’t like it. Bengan(Eggplants) were very hard and not cooked enough for some reason even though the name said«Bhuna Bengan» . Chicken Biryani and Chicken Tikka Masala barely had 1 or 2 pcs of chicken. Chicken Karahi had 80% bones ans 20% chicken. Cholay and palak paneer tasted good. Nan was delicious. Majority of the Flames below the food dises were off, as a result some dishes were not hot. Gulab Jaman and Rice pudding were ridiculously sweet. If you are not diabetic then you will become one after eating. Overall a lot of room for improvement. I have been to worse places.

My current favorite buffet for Indo/Pak food in Houston. The tandoori chicken is actually moist which is a real treat since most are sooo dry its basically useless to eat and impossible to enjoy. But not here, truly flavorful. The rest of the buffet is also above average and has plenty of meat selections including goat, chicken in several variations and of course vegetables. The shopping center is old, but the interior is clean and modern. My only wish is that they would upgrade the fresh onion into a spicy onion salad with vinegar and red pepper served elsewhere — but that’s a small matter that won’t keep me from going.

We stopped for lunch today with a coupons from Unilocal.Once we were ready to check out we were told that the coupons had expired .I keep telling him that the coupons has no expiration date and he kept repeating that the coupons had expired in August 31th. After few minutes of arguing with the waiter, we ended up paying only for 1 buffet . The experience as a whole was awkward. I don’t think I will visit this place anytime soon.

A roach came out from under my plate! I was so upset! I smashed it with a fork and showed the server. The owner was very nice and I did not have to pay but I will not reccomed this spot to any one. I told them Im calling the Texas Dept of Health to file a complaint. Pamela Dar. RN

Came here last weekend for dinner. Dinner buffet had just started and so my family was the only people there dining. The atmosphere is clean, neat and elegant. The food did not disappoint. I like the setup of the buffet bar and theres a lot of good variety to chose from. Among my favorites was the Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Biryani, Daal Fry, Chicken Tikka Masala and Nihari. All were accompanied with piping hot naan brought to our table. Dessert was delicious fresh fruit, kheer and yummy gulab jamun which were warmed and sweetened to perfection. My toddler was a bit antsy eating there but the staff were responsive and interacted with him as well as handing him a lollipop. The buffet I feel is a bit overpriced so they lose a star but they are definitely going to see us again.

I liked the set up of this place. The interior was more sophisticated than your traditional Pakistani eatery. What really put me off was that the coupon displayed on Unilocal was not honored. There is no expiration on the coupon, yet I was told the coupon expired in August. The offer for the free buffet with purchase should be taken down from Unilocal if it is not valid anymore. My partner of choice was along side of me for this exquisite dining experience. We were two small fry among the sea of all the other guests. There was obviously a large reservation placed for the evening. Nevertheless, I did not feel ignored by our wait staff. There was fresh bread delivered to our table. There were about 12 dish selections to choose from, all nicely placed in large silver dome– like serving dishes. There were two desserts. There was also a salad bar area with condiments etc., but it seemed as if it could have been more fresh. The cilantro looked like it needed to be revived. I enjoyed most of the food. I would rate the vegetable dishes to be very average including the okra, daal, palak paneer. I simply did not find them to be too tasty. The chicken kebabs, chicken tikka, chicken tikka masala, biryani, and nihari were all above average in my culinary opinion . At the price of 11.99 for the Sunday dinner buffet, I would suggest giving this place a chance for some tasty Pakistani cuisine.

Excellent food and excellent service. I can’t even pick a favorite because everything is just sooo good and fresh. The waiters were very quick to bus tables and refill water which is so vital when you’re eating spicy sauces. The naan was soooo buttery and fresh, I wanted to cry. And… yeah it was just 13.00 for 2 ppl because they happen to have a Unilocal deal going where you get a free meal if you purchase one. I would say that dress code should be modest and tasteful just because it’s so nice inside. I would definitely be back!!!

High quality fresh food with extremely flavorful food and just the right spices. The downside is that the music is very spa like which makes you sleepy as you indulge in the buffet. The utensils, table covers, and furniture is very clean and elegant. Good environment for upscale meetings with a middle class price. I’d recommend it to someone who is trying to taste Pakistani food for the first time.

This hidden gem is too good to pass up for anyone who’s looking for authentic Indo-Pak food. I’ve sampled numerous Indian/Pakistani restaurants across Houston, Kings Chicken ranks right at the top of the food chain. Kings Chicken is no longer the rundown hole-in-the-wall shack that used to be on Beechnut. It’s an elegant, formal sit-down restaurant located at a new West Side location. With this new location comes new competent ownership and a revamped menu. Disregard the dubious 1 star review further down the page, it couldn’t be further from the truth. The owner is the nicest person you’ll encounter in the restaurant business, he really goes out of his way to accommodate his customers. A word of advice to the one-star reviewer, seriously stop whining about good quality food! The food here is full of flavor, with just the right amount of heat. The tandoori chicken and chicken tikka are excellent, as are the chicken biryani and chicken tikka masala. You cannot go wrong with any of those choices. They also have some of the best seasoned and flavorful lamb chops, with very generous portion sizes. If I could give 6 stars, I would! I’ll be back there for more delicious cuisine soon…

I came here with my parents on a Friday night. The place was packed! There was apparently a dinner going on with a huge table in the corner for some guy’s graduation. This is probably the only Pakistani halal restaurant where when you enter, it feels like it will be a fine dining experience. The food was nice, not spicy for a change. The ambiance was definitely of a happening place. I wish the food was warm though! :( Every single item I tried other than the mutton karhai was lukewarm/almost cold. And I could see why this was happening … The graduation diners were coming to the buffet constantly and leaving the chafing dishes wide open. You cannot possibly have warm food if the lids are not closed! I got the mango lassi and it wasn’t too sweet which I liked. The salad bar looked ok. I didn’t try it because I never try things from a salad bar unless they look super fresh. My parents and I had the identical food, the only difference was that they got the canned mandarin oranges from the bar and I didn’t. They both got sick from eating there. But since I didn’t I will keep this review positive as I was fortunate enough to steer clear from trying them. I really wanted to try their gulab jamun but unfortunately they ran out. It looked really good when I got there but by the time I was done with my food there was only kheer and gajar ka halwa left. We asked if they were going to bring out anymore gulab jamun and they said yes but after ten minutes nothing came out and it was getting pretty late so I just tried the other desserts. The halwa was good but the kheer had too rice-y of a texture for my taste. I am sure some people prefer that rice feeling in their mouth but I like mine to be cooked a little longer so that the kheer is less grainy. Overall, I will definitely be going back to give them a second try as I think they have a lot of potential. If service improves then I think they can achieve the look and feel they are going for.

Best buffet hands down. The food is fresh and delicious. I went there twice and food was always tasty. Loved the fresh naan, tandoori chicken and chicken korma and the warm gulab jamun. The Sunday brunch buffet was packed and busy but the owner was nice enough to accommodate. Thank you for satisfying my halwa puri cravings. I wish we had a similar buffet in Cleveland

Seriously??? Please stop opening indo/paki restaurants if you can’t make edible food!!! Went there for sunday brunch with family and got so disappointed. Not a single item on the buffet had any taste. Nihari was all watery, Palak panner had strong taste of garlic, Biryani tasted like plain white rice… even lomenade tasted like water. Walked out hungry n wasted our time n $$$$$$…ANDYESWEWERECHARGEDFORTHATDISGUSTINGFOOD!!!

While traveling from the Clearlake area on a somewhat gloomy day, I stumbled upon a ray of light, Kings Chicken Tandoori Cuisine. As stated previously, the restaurant is nestled in the corner of a very modest strip center and could easily go unnoticed, but heed my warning, don’t pass up this gem. Upon entering this establishment, the décor was upscale, but yet comfortable. The buffet display was tremendous offerring a wide variety of delectable dishes. Some dishes like palak paneer, tandoori chicken, and the masalas were expected, but I especially enjoyed the chicken karachi, nihari beef, and the goat rogan josh. What sets this place apart from the many Indian restaurants that I have dined at, was the fine attention to spicing. The flavors were so crisp and original and the heat on some of the curries was more to my preference(hotter than normal). The desserts, kheer and carrot halva were a plesant and soothing end to a fine meal. My son and I ate well for under $ 30. Thank you for the great lunch Kings Chicken!

Same name from the location on Beechnut but different ownership. Friendly service. Clean location. Beautifully decorated. Paratha is still amazing. The buffet spread was plentiful, tasty, and fresh. I’m glad that they’ve relocated and even happier that the food is great. From the biryani to goat curry to kababs, butter chicken, and saag we thoroughly enjoyed it. Since I work in the Energy Corridor the location is ideal for folks like us willing to trek it a few miles extra for great Indian/Pakistani food.

I came into this new restaurant for lunch. Color me impressed! The modest strip-center location belies the elegant and fairly spacious interior décor. The most important thing — the quality of the food, is great. The buffet is quite reasonable at $ 10.99 and includes a variety of chicken and meat items. Vegetarians will probably be disappointed on only 3 – 4 veggie items though the friend of the owner who was greeting customers tells me there’s more selections on the weekends. Indian Buffet NEWBIE Tip: Don’t just load up on the first few items in the buffet spread. Take small amounts of each item so you can taste every dish — especially the wide variety of meat items. You can always go back for the items you like after you’ve tried a bit of everything. Highlights: Tandoori chicken, perfectly seasoned and tender. Chicken Biryani — moist, flavorful chicken and well spiced, but not too hot rice. This is Punjabi/Pakistani style Biryani for those who find the famous Hyderabadi Biryani too spicy. The fish vindaloo was nice and spicy with tender fish, very fresh, though it needed a bit more salt. Chicken Seekh Kebabs(grilled chicken sausages) were awesome — moist and flavorful with bright and fresh cilantro and coriander flavor in the meat. The Palak Paneer was good but I’m not big on the puréed style instead of more homestyle version with whole paneer. My only critique would be the slightly under salted veggie items though this is not a major issue since most restaurants over-salt their food anyway. The Goat Curry was well done too. Good amount of heat and wonderfully tender goat. The naan they bring table side once you order the buffet was nice — not the doughy eggy giant loaves but rather thinner, crispy with the right amount of chew. I’ll have to definitely be back with my friends that enjoy good Tandoori

Went there to eat with friends since I was in the area, there was lunch buffet, tried the fish masala, tandoori chicken, goat korma, sheikh Kabab(chicken) naan, daal makhni and rice, and off course Kashmiri chai ‚ Fish was juicy tender and melted in the mouth, chicken was more like a chargha style, very juicy and right amount of spieces, sheikh Kabab was one of the best that I have eaten, goat korma was excellent, naan was good and daal makhni and rice was delicious, topped that with Kashmiri chai was very good but some of my friend thought that they would prefer the regular chai, It was a great experience and would definitely go there again as long as it is consistent, décor was good and service was good,
