Pretty good for a buffet that’s why it gets 4 stars. Has decent selection of sushi, lots of mixed meat options, small dessert section. It’s also one of the only ones in this area — and for the price, worth it.

Always have a good experience and food when I come here. Typical Chinese buffet. Would recommend.

Gross. Crab and Crawfish were a greyish colour meat inside. Dry, and flavourless. Only thing I was okay with was hot and sour soup. And even that was below average… Their shrimp and chicken was nasty because the chicken had a mushy texture. Avocado in the sushi was browning, their baked fishes are suuuuper dry and also for their«dinner rolls» they use hamburger buns… I know it’s a buffet, so I can’t expect that much, but I didn’t even come here with that high of expectations and I was still super disappointed. For 5 – 6 dollars more, at Kim Son Buffet you can have some REAL asian food than this crap.

Where has this place been all my life? I stopped here on a whim and was surprised to see that it was really full at 3:30pm. Hmm. I go in, get a plate and I don’t think I’ve ever had such amazing flavor I’m Chinese food. It was great! Each dish had a distinct flavor, not like most places that they sort of taste the same. I normally shy away from buffets because they can’t keep their food hot enough. Not this place. Everything was steaming and I still had to blow on it when I got back to my table. Yes! Great work guys!

The sushi in this place is so sooo good and its always fresh, they have a dipping sauce that tastes kinda sweet and so delicious. I reccomend sushi lovers to go they wont regret it and the price is so reasonable. There is a crab salad that is also to die for. Seafood generally is good there but other stuff are not really that special. I give five stars just because i crave their sushi all the time.

This buffet is okay for the price, Chinese food taste is the same as every where else. They didn’t have a great variety of food or desert(one side was all jelly of different color). I was really disappointed compared to the other Chinese buffets I go to before.

Good selection of sushi for the buffet and there’s a lot of choices for the Mongolian grill as well. I enjoy the egg drop soup here and the soft serve ice cream. These are the food choices that I go after when I’m there. Don’t really eat much of anything else there but that’s because I have a small stomach. They charge you extra if you leave food uneaten on the plate.

Really enjoyed this buffet. Sushi was very good and fresh. We have been twice now and still haven’t tried everything.

This is your typical Chinese buffet but with a sushi bar and hibachi grill. They also have seafood here. It’s a hit or miss with this buffet. It can get extremely crowded on the weekends. My advice is don’t go here expecting too much. The waitress only came by to clear the plates and for the check(with her tip). She never checked on us or refilled the drinks.(Typical Asian restaurant experience) I will only come by if I’m craving a buffet that bad or if I happen to be in the area. Otherwise the drive isn’t worth it.

Good buffet for the price payed. Pros: good food and variety. Also liked the $ 1 charge if people leave a lot of leftovers in their plate(hate to see people throw tons of food) Cons: understaffed, takes ages to get a refill. Tables could use a little more cleaning.

This is definitely one of the more bomb buffet joints. Me and a homie went here after we hotboxed 3 blunts. There was so much variety. Many sushi options, Mongolian grill, Chinese and seafood. We were so high that at the beginning we didn’t even notice there was an extra section of food. I would recommend starting with the Mongolian first. It was so good but I couldn’t eat a lot of it cause I ate it last so I was already full af. It’s basically a kublai khan/ghengis grill, Hokkaido, fufu’s, and mikes seafood all in one. Hands down one of the best buffet places I’ve been to in a while.

They have some good sushi. The place is pretty clean and they have a decent variety of food. The waiters are constantly checking up on you to see if you need any refills. Def will come again!

Good selection and decent variety. The sushi was decent. It seemed clean enough. The only problem I found was the dessert section. The pastries were old and stale. The way they set up the ice cream cones… pretty sure they just leave it there all day every day. For this side of town it’s probably the best buffet.

Two weeks haven’t come to this buffet, now they have steam fish on the buffet bar and Summer Special for kids. It’s alway nice to try new dishes.

Cleanest buffet I’ve ever been to in Houston. Here’s my review: Food Quality(9⁄10) Large selections, they have mogolian grills as well. Foods seems fresh and not overly salted or MSG infused. Service:(3⁄10) This place is seriously understaffed. Nobody come to refill my water or clean up my table. This area need huge improvement. Atmosphere & Restaurant cleanness(10⁄10) Quite large and spacy. Mix of modern and traditional design. Booth is comfrtable. Clean table, silverwares, dishes cups etc. Very impressive. Overall pretty good.

All you can eat crab. Enough said! My boyfriend and I were craving crab legs so we decided to come here. First, thing I noticed was the buffet was very tidy and the staff very attentive. The bathrooms were very clean which is always a good sign. My boyfriend said the sushi was great for a buffet and I could not judge myself due to my pregnancy. The hot food was your average Americanized Chinese food. Overall, the food was good and we will be back for more crab legs.

Not a four star restaurant by any means but they get an extra star for having sushi and sashimi, a Mongolian grill, AND all you can eat crawfish and crab legs per season. Clean place overall, very busy sunday afternoons!

It was alright. Nothing special. Food was mediocre… Beware customers, one of the dishes said cheese mushrooms, and I as a vegetarian had bit into the chunk of meat that was hidden inside the mushroom under the cheese… –_–

I seriously need to stop going to buffets. This one was one of the better Chinese buffets I’ve been to. There was no wretched smell, lighting was bright, and seating was spacious. The staff was friendly, at least the waitress we had. She was constant with clearing and refilling drinks. Food was decent, I ate about 9 plates worth, the mongolian grill was legit, the steak was generous. Enough sushi to satisfy. The salt toasted shrimp was legit, and the clams were pretty big. Overall I’d come back for $ 13 total for dinner, but its time to break from buffets for a while.

I normally don’t eat buffets, but a friend asked me to tag along to try a new restaurant opened in Houston. It originated in Austin, since they advertised on late night TV repeatedly that prompt my curiosity. Buffet King is located outside of Chinatown and conveniently near Westpark Toll Road on Highway 6. PRO’s: The air in the lobby was very pleasant and breathable, unlike most restaurants, I can hardly smell anything, including food. Once entering the dining area, I could see the grand view with an open concept. All staff spoke English and they were genuinely friendly. I’d rate them A+ for cleanliness: The sitting areas were not sticky. Bathroom was spotless. Dining area had plenty of room to walk through. FOOD: Sushi Bar — The sushi tasted same regardless of their varieties, no matter the shapes or key ingredients. Wasabi was just a tasteless green paste. Sashimi was just defrosted fish with little or no flavor. However, Vietnamese summer rolls were the best — fresh, moist and easy to handle. Mongolian BBQ — When we got there, the grill was off. I saw few people ordered but I didn’t like the way they stir fry the food. I sampled my friend’s «creation.» Oh, no. The sliced beef was tough like leather. Soups — The easiest way to please my appetite is good soup. Unfortunately, they failed. The egg flower soup had yellow coloring, wontons were missing from the broth, hot and sour soup was too gummy and vegetable soup tasted like soup pot washing soup. Seafood — I had to point it out. All peeled shrimps came from same source — defrosted from freezer. Doesn’t matter how they were cooked, they tasted the same(few pieces tasted like ammonia). Cocktail shrimp tasted freshest. Crab legs were plump and prepared with flavors. Dessert Bars — I could tell they didn’t bake the pastries because they were still sitting in the packaging. They tasted fine. My favorites were lychee flavored gelatin and soft serve with its toppings. CON’s: We arrived at 3 pm and the dinner time started at 3:31 pm. I felt rushed by how fast they took our used plates away(even with food). Also, they cheated on the drinks: Pepsi was over-carbonated. I suspect those 2 tea bags in my tea pot were used, because it tasted like hot water. The iced water was just city tap without any filtering. We asked for the window seats but they only pulled the blind up 4 inches for us to look out. I don’t know why they installed windows in the first place. In summary, since I didn’t get sick from eating here and there are rooms for improvement. So I rated it as a-ok. This meal was a little expensive for me as I included toll, traffic and distance. But I will certainly try it again next year. Please don’t be discouraged from reading my review. You may have better experience than me.
