Greatest Tex Mex we’ve ever had! Food was delicious, atmosphere wonderful and service was so refreshing. Make sure Gerardo is your server– he is exceptional! :)

I wasn’t overly impressed with my meal at GUAD. My maragrita was so tart that I had to send it back and when they brought it back it was too sweet, so I can’t recommend their margaritas. I had the tamales, and I can’t tell you if the actual tamales were good as they were covered with queso, ground meat, and frito chips… now I know that sounds like a good thing, but I think good tamales can stand alone without being covered with so much stuff, but I know a lot of people would love the dish. I will say the green and red salsa they have were both outstanding, so thumbs up to chips and salsa. I think it is worth giving it a second try, but my usual thought on Mexican food is that in Texas there are way too many great Mexican restaurants to be just ok.

Everything was delicious! The reason I only gave it 4 stars was because I personally like cheddar cheese in my cheese enchiladas which they don’t use. Beef enchilada and beef taco was tasty but the empanada may have been my favorite. Our waiter was great and the restaurant is very clean. We will be back for sure!

Service and food were good, not amazing, but good. I had the lunch chicken fajitas and 2 of their happy hour 10oz margaritas at the bar. The bartenders weren’t to talkative to me or other customers, but more to themselves. The fajitas were good and I liked how they came with queso, I wish they came with sour cream and an extra plate though. Even without the queso, their green sauce with their chips was a great substitute and may be the best green sauce I’ve ever had. I enjoyed my time there, but based on the total experience I can’t give the restaurant a solid 5⁄5. May be back again though!

I live around the corner & have been waiting for them to remodel after their fire. Finally had dinner there a couple weeks ago & was very impressed. The décor is FAB! Food is delicious as expected. Service was awesome too. Top quality everything! Looking forward to coming back again!

My fiancé and I came across this place since I was getting my tire fixed from discount tire right next to the area. Since we were waiting, we went to get drinks and try out this new place. We looked like a couple of bums(haha, we were doing errands; no need to fix up). We decided to sit at the bar area, the customer service is great. John was the person at the bar who greeted us and took care of us. I was deciding on what to drink & he suggested the sangria swirl which is absolutely delicious! I ordered the enchilada marisco & my fiancé ordered the fried chicken enchilada. Both plates was ah-mazing! To those who don’t like the green sauce here for the chips does not what is up! In conclusion, it is a must try!

Excellent Tex-Mex in the W. University /Rice Area. Upscale vibe of the interior is in contrast to the somewhat dingy curb-side presentation — perhaps that’s because I approached from the Westpark(back) side of the building. Server and kitchen managed a party of 14 seamlessly — food arrived in one wave, hot and as ordered. Food was fresh, innovative, and very tasty. I was pleased to see that there were no chimichangas to be seen. El Poblano(baked poblano stuffed with rotisserie chicken and a modest amount of cheese) was outstanding — tangy, slightly smoky and moist. Enchilada with chicken in mole sauce was also very good. Vegetarian options available. Very nicely done !

The food was amazing and the service was awesome! I had the fish tacos, which were good. Their green sauce is out of this world and they also had some amazing queso. They have an option of rice between Spanish, cilantro and chorizo. I got the cilantro which I loved! I will definitely be back.

Went for dinner. Good ambience an service but the food made me real sick later. Will not suggest this place due to its food quality.

Went there with my office group and the food was okay. What came later was terrible. 5 of us became really sick and 2 of us including me in serious condition. Hygiene at this place is highly questionable and would suggest that the health department look into their practices. Never going there again for obvious reasons and it’s not worth the pain to even try the food not newbies.

I am very familiar with the Guadalajara Resturant chain and have always enjoyed my food experience there so I have been highly anticipating the re-opening of this location. Ok, Saying that… I couldn’t tell you how many times I would chuckle when I drove by here and read the new sign«The Guad.» Lol! Has our society gotten so used to acronyms and abbreviations that it’s now infecting our mexy restaurants? Ok, off my soapbox and on to the main event. This revamped location is definitely fancier and more«higher-end«than the other locations and with that, as expected, comes a higher price tag. We came here around 4pm on a Saturday so it was not crowded and that’s just the way I like it. Opted to seat in one of the bar booths since the bar area offers several TVs and football was on :) Immediate greeting by who I thought was our waitress, took drink orders and quickly brought chips & salsa. Even though she seemed confused by my «half and half» margarita request(as many do), I can assure you that the execution was spot on! Typical non HH margarita prices range from $ 9 – 16. Yes a little pricey but very strong and tasty! If looking for a cheaper option, HH is M-F and offer $ 5 margs. Loved how thin and crispy the chips were and both red & green salsas were super delicious! As for the menu, very extensive and so many wonderful sounding dishes. Since I couldn’t decide on one, I asked our waitress for any recommendations. She quickly said«our brisket and abuelitas» our one of many signature dishes. DONE! The abuelitas included 2 rotisserie chicken enchiladas covered in a tomatillo sauce, drizzled with sour cream and half of a sliced avocado. Rice and beans are included and come on a separate plate. Something about the rice through me off though, had a smokey flavor I couldn’t quite figure out. I enjoyed my dish but I preferred my friend’s cheesy goodness brisket enchiladas! Both dishes were beautifully presented so Kuddos to Chef-Mex. Final verdict, I highly recommend and will definitely be back very very soon to sample out their lunch menu and HH.

Very excited this place is open. Upon walking in the door, my coworkers and I were greeted with a very friendly hostess. We were taken to a table, served chips and salsa immediately then an energetic waitress came fairly quickly to take our drink order. There is a nice selection on the lunch menu. I ordered the beef crispy taco, chicken flauta with rice and beans. When the order came I was thinking wow that is a lot of food. But even better everything was so flavorful but not overly spiced. The charro beans were cooked all the way through but still held together nicely, the rice was the right amount of dry and flavorful. I will start adding this place to my lunch rotation.

This revamp passed my first visit… …We went with a group of 12 for lunch on a Monday. The service was stellar and the lunch menu was huge. The worst part was deciding what to get. Most of the items were the traditional Tex-Mex foods with a twist. The«quesadillas» were actually more like sandwiches inside tortillas served with spicy fries. I got the salad and grilled meat lunch special that came with the best version of quinoa salad(atop spinach) with a pretty good-sized piece of carne asada. I will definitely go back.

Good food and great ambiance! I had the fried chicken cheese enchiladas-BEWARE very decadent so come hungry. Couple of kinks to work out with the service but nothing that can’t be fixed — new restaurant new beginnings. Quick fix to great Mexican food!

Trumps all of the tex mex you will find anywhere else. The restaurant wasn’t loud which I enjoyed. I don’t like having to talk over large crowds as you do at pappasitos, and they have a very elegant interior. The food was absolutely delicious and their take on their red velvet tres leches for desert was absolutely incredible. I will definitely eat there again. This is probably now my go to for that type of food.

Pretty good. Place just reopened after being closed for about a year. Very nice décor, nice staff and our food was excellent. It’s a modern Tex Mex place so you can guess the the selection. Portions are very generous.

Ahhh, this place has a long way to go to become what it used to be. However, new menu choices for vegetarians! I can’t wait to see what they do when I order my «off the menu» veggie quesadillas. If they tell me no, I will have to rethink my choice of happy hour places and head on down to their competition, Pico’s, for which I am never disappointed. Atmosphere is lovely and you can absolutely tell where the fire took place resulting in the majority of the remodel. This used to be our old hangout after work several times per week. It’s expensive now. We were pretty much ignore seated in a booth at the bar area. Waitstaff and manager are all young and unseasoned professionals. They basically huddled at the bar in conversation while I not only did not have water, was never offered any water and really wanted some… water! When I asked for the wifi password, I was told that was only reserved for credit card use and I could not have the password. Whuuuuuut? It’s quite fancy in the bar area now and overpriced. I miss my old bartenders and friendly staff. Made to order guacamole was really good as before, but was served on a hot plate instead of a chilled plate. Who likes warm guacamole? I have some serious suggestions for them and will not give up on them until they prove they can’t do it. This is coming from someone who was a recurring visitor several times per week until the fire. We waited a long time for them to reopen. I was disappointed, but heard several other customers raving about the food. I ordered a dish to go and had a taste when I got home and it was phenomenal. Very small portion of salmon and a cup and a half of tomatillo salsa, but oh so tasty. I will be back. Please don’t give up on them just yet. I will let you know when it’s time.

Only 2nd night opened so they have time to improve. I tried something simple 4 mini tacos, wanted to try one of each flavor but I guess they couldn’t do that so I received beef but I had asked if I can’t have a tasting of each then bring chicken, I always have to order no cheese but my tacos came with cheese. I did not like the chicken at all– it had to much of the fake smoke flavor. 3rd times a charm-received 4 beef mini’s with no cheese, nothing special and over priced at $ 14.00(this should be priced $ 9-$ 11-tops, no way $ 14) Hubby ordered Jalapeño Deluxe plate,(also over priced) he enjoyed it but said the chicken had way to much salt. Waiter did a good job. BUT ??? When he Brought the check and the meal that had to go back 2 times was still on the check, I was shocked, that should have been removed as a professional courtesy. I’m thinking we should have went to the bar and tried a drink instead of dinner. Oh well, can’t win them all.
