We have been coming here for over 25 years. The food, professional service and chocolate martinis NEVER disappoint! Love this place!

I have been coming to Fuad’s for many years. It is definitely a regulars hangout. As you walk into Fuad’s you walk straight into the piano bar. Hopefully Jeff will be preforming as he is truly an excellent singer and pianist. Grab a seat if one is available, because normally its not. The restaurant is dark and cozy with not many tables to dine at. Do not be surprised who you see in Fuad’s as their customers include many of Houston’s top executives and top athletes. At the back right of the restaurant is the small bar. It has about 4 seats on each side of it. Kamal, the owner of Fuad’s, usually seats there. JR, his right hand man, runs things. They are both great conversationalists and are very engaging with their customers. A few tables sit way in the back behind the bar and you can enjoy a sports event on one of the tv’s. The wine selections here are very good. The drinks here are very strong and spot on. Beer selections limited. This restaurant is very unique as they do not really have a menu. They do run daily specials though and will share that with you. Just tell them what you are hungry for! Good chance they can make it happen. This is the only place I know in Houston, that you can walk in at 1:30 am and order a 4 course meal that is cooked by an amazing chef! Their hamburgers are awesome, steaks amazing, lamp and pork all prepared perfect. I have had a couple of amazing fish dishes I like most of their appetizers. Fuad’s is really a fantastic, enjoyable, upscale place to dine and listen to music, where the staff gets to know you and your tastes and prepares meals and drinks accordingly. Service is a 10 and they have earned my business for the rest of my life. PS… They offer valet parking from one of the nicest guys on earth! Use it as he takes good care of your car and will move it closer and closer as guests leave!

Are you kidding me?!? Who makes you wait an hour for the chef and when he turns up, the majority of his time is spent smoozing with patrons(the four geriatrics there). Humph, recommended by a colleague but he must have a lot more patience than me. The final straw was the vial odor coming from the rear of the restaurant. WTH?!? The chef suggested a duck that sounded crucified and served in a sauce that I recall from the 80’s. Plus he wreaked of cigarettes and mint gum, good chefs taste their food sand I doubt his tastebuds are still intact!

Joined some friends and family for a birthday, also celebrating an anniversary. You have to understand the no menu thing before you arrive; it works out fine. I asked for a white fish with some crab meat or shrimp atop, the wife wanted shrimp and past in an alfredo sauce. What we received was way over the top of our general request. The sauces and mushrooms and vegetable accompaniments were simply incredible. If you want an intimate place where you can have a quiet conversation over an expertly prepared meal, this is it.

This is my favorite restaurant when I visit Houston. The chef will make you whatever you want. The staff is attentive and experienced. The bartender knows how to poor a drink and cater to everyone. Do not ask for menu. I

Food was good. Very good, but not great. Server asked what we wanted, I said fish sounded good, but I was willing to hear what he recommended. He said the Lamb was good, and I said I’ll go with that. I kinda expected to get the whole«how do you want it prepared» business, but no, he said OK, offered me a salad, I said OK, and that was it. The salad was good, but not remarkable in any way(other than being $ 8 for a basic salad). No dressing choice, I got what they brung. The lamb was delicious, but again, pretty«normal». Lamb chops with demiglace. My friend got the same thing, and with no drinks, the bill was $ 114 before tip. Like I said, it was good, and I’d go back, but I don’t think it was either«awesome» or «aweful».

Best Lamb Chops in town! This is probably the only restaurant in town where the chef would talk to you and maybe make you something you would even like better off the menu once he knows what your likes and dislikes are. Small, Cozy Place owned by the chef himself and is touted as a formal and fine dining establishment.

My advice for everyone would be to stay far far away from Fuad’s as they are a dishonest business. I came to Fuad’s with several coworkers for some drinks and we sat the bar. I ended up paying the bill for everyone in my party, five people including myself. The pre-tip amount came out to $ 176.24. I added approximately a 15% tip to come out at an even $ 200. When I received my credit card bill I was shocked to see that I had been charged $ 300, an overcharge of $ 100. I’ve been overcharged a couple dollars here and there by various establishments in the past but never a significant amount like $ 100. I called Fuad’s to try to resolve the issue and spoke to a man by the name of JR. He told me that since the transaction took place in September, the restaurant did not have the records of my transaction. Instead, the restaurant’s accountant in austin has the records so he would reach out to his accountant and it might take several weeks to resolve the matter. When I asked why it would take that long I was told that getting in contact with the accountant could take some time and the accountant would have to send a copy of the receipt by mail. I asked why not use a fax or e-mail since that would be much faster, we are in the year 2015 and everything. Very shady but I was told they would take care of it as soon as possible. JR ended up calling me a few hours later and told me that I was lying. I asked him is there any way you think my «2» looks like a «3» which could be the source of confusion? Did you take the pre-tip amount and add it to the tip amount to come to your total? He did not seem to understand what I was saying. After arguing with him about it a couple minutes, he called me a crook and hung up. I have never experienced such a poor level of customer service from a restaurant. JR was rude, condescending, and incompetent. I have attached a picture of my receipt to show the amount of the transaction. At no point did he apologize for the situation, handle the matter with class, offer any sort of gift card or free meal… absolutely nothing. I hope others have not been screwed over by this establishment but I would not be surprised if I’m not the first.

Houston is a city of international cuisine, and Fuad’s is a restaurant of intercontinental food, so it’s no wonder that this restaurant has survived for so long on the ever changing street of Westheimer. Fuad’s is a slice of Europe set right inside Houston in a strip mall, tucked away in such a small unassuming space, that you almost don’t know the restaurant is even there. There aren’t any other restaurants in Houston like Fuad’s for intercontinental cuisine and certainly none that are decorated like it either. There’s plenty of parking spaces available in the large lot, however, the spaces directly in front of Fuad’s are typically taken up by shoppers of the clothing store next door. Fortunately there are so many parking spaces that you won’t have to fret to find a space and a little walk will do your legs some good. There are a couple tables and chairs set outside on their sidewalk patio for those wanting to enjoy a glass of wine, cigar, or even a meal. The interior of Fuad’s is almost unreal with how old world European it looks and with the amount of red covering just about anything that isn’t moving. The room was almost deafeningly quiet since we were the only ones in the restaurant besides the staff, so I can’t imagine that the room gets too loud when all of the tables are occupied. The chairs are set close together to maximize space in this small room and with everything being covered in fabric from the floor up to the ceiling, the noise is muffled quite a bit. The tiny bar that seats only two, is pressed all the way to the back corner of the restaurant next to the kitchen door. In other words, this isn’t the kind of place you go to «hang out» at the bar. I dined here with a friend for an early dinner one Sunday evening, which probably explains why we were the only table occupied. I had a feeling that most of Fuad’s clientele are late night eaters that probably don’t arrive until at least 8pm. Regardless, we were looking for something close to our cigar shop to enjoy a quick meal before smoking our stogies. The maître d’ also doubled as our waiter, restaurant manager, and sommelier. I didn’t catch whether he was the owner or not, but he sure behaved like he had been working here many years. No printed menus are offered here, so be prepared to know what you would like to drink and more importantly what you want to eat for dinner. No, really, there aren’t ANY menus. The maître d’ informed us that the kitchen would prepare us any type of meat that we would like. They did have a few dishes that were featured, and in keeping to the European way of dining, the specials were seasonal food items. I ended up ordering duck and left the preparation to the chef’s choice. I didn’t know what I would get, but I figured it was worth a try. Most Americans prefer to have menus for this reason so if you’re not open to the chef whipping up his own creations, then maybe Fuad’s isn’t for you. The duck was prepared in a traditional European style with a dark black cherry reduction and roasted fingerling potatoes. Fresh rosemary was used in the dish and then as a garnishment with a fresh sprig of it sticking out of my roasted duck. It was tender, gently roasted, moist and lightly seasoned to help bring out the flavors of the duck without covering up the natural flavor. The portion of the duck was so large that I could only finish a third of it and had the rest boxed up to take home.

This was our first time here and wow in the worst way. It’s Houston Restaurant week. Myself and two of my friends arrived. the ambience is so romantic and charming. The kind of place that was several regulars. More of an older crowd. Live music. It was small and quaint. I will give it that. The bussers do all the work. The chef is the one that verbally interacts with you. We started off conversing with our cocktails. It was kind of annoying that every two minutes we were approached with whether or not we were ready to order. Now we are ready to order. Since it’s our first time dining at the restaurant I had questions. The choices for hrw were duck, lamb shank, filet, fish of the day. My friend ordered fish, the other ordered filet, when it was my turn I was undecided. So I asked the chef, «What comes with the filet?» His response, «A plate. What do you mean what comes with the filet?» He encouraged me to get the duck, so I did. Starting out they had escargot, crab bisque, and something else. Both of these items were great, tasty, yummy. Then our salads. Two of us had caesars and then other friend had a wedge. Good, basic. Nothing fancy. Our main courses arrive. We taste each others dishes. We all came to the conclusion that the only dish that tasted like it deserved to be served in a restaurant such as that was the fish. The fish was incredible. The red fish seemed like it was crusted, and topped with lump crab meat and shrimp on top with an amazing sauce. The filet was just prepared. Nothing to it, seemed like a brown gravy out of a can was just poured on top. Then I had the duck. The duck tasted like it was just coated in olive oil and placed in the oven and that was it. Oh let me not leave of out the cranberry sauce out of a can that it was placed on top of. Needless to say that me and my friend were not satisfied with our Lubys style entrees and wanted the fish. So the rude chef came back and we told him. He said if there is nothing wrong with it, if it doesn’t smell, or taste nasty, then its not fair to him. I asked him does this mean we have to eat this? He said no and started rasing his voice that this is not fair, took our plates, and stormed off still rambling. We received our new meals within 5 minutes? But wait, the fish of the day was split into shared portions for the both of us… Then the same chef proceeded to loudly gossip about us at the next table about how it wasn’t fair and that is what we ordered. And the guest at the table was in agreeance. It was unbelievable. Full blown conversation about it. The general manager, came to our table to check on us and I asked about the split portions. He proceeded to tell me that they don’t make money from HRW, they actually loose money. What that had to do with our split portions I don’t know. So I told him that you all simply could have refused to change it or charged us more. Then I told him I wanted half the duck back. My pettiness was kicking in. I had lost my appetite by that point. THEDESERT was delicious. My friends had the banana foster and I the crème brule. Very tasty. But I will never go back there. It seems as though if you are not a regular you get treated like an outsider. And if you are black you better just sit there and act accordingly.

I found a deal on for Fuad’s and decided to try it out for my anniversary dinner. We’ve eaten at places with no menus and enjoy having the chef recommend entrees. Fuad’s chef did a great job based on our requests. He whipped up an appetizer of cheese, prosciutto, salami, and crackers. We both wanted fish for dinner, so he made us a delicious tuna steak and salmon filet with an extensive variety of vegetables(potatoes, broccoli, green beans, brussel sprouts, carrots, cauliflower, and spinach). We had great wine and excellent service from the staff. I was worried given the mixed reviews online, but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and it wasn’t overly expensive. I recommend this place for dinner or simply drinks at the bar or piano.

Probably one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Houston. The chef comes out to greet you, there are no menus, just order whatever you want! Really good quality food on top of the best service around!

No menu, and if you can’t decide Chef Joseph will come out and quiz you and make recommendations. They love to do table-side prep from the Caesar salad to flambeed roast rack of lamb – then there’s the Cherries Jubilee and Banana Foster also done tableside. There’s live music and the pianist knows every song by heart. Where else can you get Beef Wellington at 1AM? :) Love this place. Not for snobs – you’d better understand this is a one of a kind tucked away atmosphere joint. If you’re truly in it for spectacular food this is the place. If you want an obsequious waitstaff and endless catering, take it somewhere else. This place is about the FOOD.

One time visit and never again! I have never encountered a rude chef until today. We dont mind if its pricey should the quality of the food be extraordinary. Steak was charred and the salad was so simple for a price of $ 25. It was a complete waste of money. Never again!

Easy to miss nestled in a typical retail strip center. Mood is dim and a little romantic. Food is good. There is no menu, chef cooks up whatever he wants or what you ask for. Pricing is TBD, so dont be surprised when the bill comes. If you are ok with the«up in the air» feeling and dont mind dropping a couple hundred bucks its a good place to eat. We had 3 people and with 8 mixed drinks our bill was around $ 250.

So this place is quite overrated to say the least. Actually very overrated. Yes it’s cool to not have a menu and just order what you want. But this gives them room to jack the prices whenever. Yes the environment is set up quite nice according to others, but the place is dark to begin with and if they had the lights on you would probably notice some nasty stuff on the floors. The positives are that they will fill your water up fast. I mean the wait staff will not hesitate to make sure you always have a full glass. They are really on top of their game with the water which is a plus. Lastly, you can’t go wrong with a live pianist who has an amazing voice. He is very good and plays some great classics. All in all, very high and ridiculous prices and service is not up to par, the chef could be rude at times too…

Once was enough! This was a one barf rating because the food wasn’t bad. But for $ 160 plus tip, it wasn’t $ 160 of quality. The«no menu» differentiator meant we had to guess at what was in the kitchen to eat and then we got to be sticker shocked by the bill once it arrived. Trulucks is 10x better and quite a bit cheaper. I was sorry I didn’t read more reviews on this place. I could’ve missed it!!!
