Enchiladas Anayas are the only things you need to order… and margaritas… and a flight of tequila.

Meh. The salsa has a smokey flavor that made for a yummy dip. I can’t say anything else we ate was all that exciting. A run of the mill Mexican restaurant but not anything special.

I’m such a regular here. The drinks and food are awesome! I always get the El Don and it gets me there. I just need 1 for a good buzz and 2 to get drunk. The food is really good. And I’ve had the moistest tres leche here! Highly recommend this place! So many great patron drinks!

Very yummy food! Went in on a rainy day, so it wasn’t very busy. There’s a parking structure steps away from the restaurant, but the restaurant doesn’t validate. Good thing parking wasn’t crazy expensive. Paid only $ 2 for about two hours. The service was good. Each request was granted promptly. The complimentary chips and salsa were delicious and the chips were warm! For an appetizer, ordered the half portion of crab nachos, which was enough for two. The chips weren’t too crisp because of the pile of toppings on them; had to eat nachos with a fork. I absolutely loved my entrée-soft shell crab tacos! I asked for two salsas-chipotle and jalapeño ranch, both salsas went great with the tacos. FYI, there’s Happy Hour Mon-Fri, I plan to go!

Id rate this place a –1 if i could. The manu is garbage. Dont come here if you know anything about GOOD food. No talant in the kitchen and which genious manager suggested the brilliant idea of spacing the tables 2 feet apart… obnoxious! A bowl of tortilla soup for 11 dollars: i recieved a bowl of thick sauce-like mush garnished with stale tortilla strips that most likely would have tasted better on top of enchiladas. What a joke– Good job chef! There are way too many better mexican, tex mex places in houston. Id never enter this waste of space again and will never recommend anyone i like to waste their money here. On the plus side, my jalapeño margarita was refreshing :-)

This is my first time at this location and I have been to others and I can say I was disappointed with the service. I truly enjoy cyclone anya and this experience reallly was disappointing. I came for lunch and the sercive was slow and the waiter was so not attentive. I love the area and the food and margarita(grand gold half and half) was great but to rate on the service alone was very disappointing.

Our party of 8 had placed a reservation, but due to traffic, we arrived about 20 minutes late, but were still seated within 5 minutes(most likely due to the late lunch hour). First off, the tortilla chips and salsa were appetizing; the chips were warm and just the right crunchy texture and dipped in a red salsa that had just the right amount of spicy kick. I ordered the Enchiladas del Mar, which was 2 red corn enchiladas with grilled shrimp and pepper topped with cheese plus sides of rice and beans(refried or soup). The portion size was rather large, so I only ate one enchilada and took the rest of my plate to-go. The cheese was melted really well, mixed in with the sauce to serve as a great topping for the enchiladas. There were also two large avocado slices serving as a smooth, cool contrast to the enchiladas. The sides of black bean soup and rice were nothing special. The wait staff was kind making sure water was replenished and came to help upon request. Also, they give chocolate mints for after your meal when you exit. Overall, a good ambience and experience!

Went with my family to have some good food. We sat at the bar. The bartender, Carlos, was amazing. Now the reason they get one star is because their service was awful. The hostess was bouncing a ball on the desk. She shouldn’t be doing that if its not busy. My mom ordered their fajitas. Asked for chicken and beef. Came out with shrimp which she is extremely allergic too. My dad’s nachos were completely cold. The waitstaff was just standing around doing nothing when they had tables. Their manager was horrible didn’t even come over to say sorry or anything. He didn’t care at all. Worst experience I have ever had.

The place was nice. Wide variety of margaritas. Food was good. Nothing extraordinary or spectacular about it, but I would go back if I lived in Houston.

Came here on a Saturday brunch with 3 other friends. The weather was amazing so we opted to sit outside. The outdoor seating is so pleasant, it faces the park and gives you all type of «~spring is here!~» feels. The reason why my friends gravitated toward this place was the deal on mimosas– 1 cent refills! Shocking, I know, and also quite dangerous. The service is friendly but a little slow due to only one or two people covering the entire patio outside. Getting our check was a bit of a struggle because the waiter was in high demand for many other things(mainly mimosa refills). I ordered the migas with beef, which was good but not something I would crave again. For migas, I like everything to be scrambed together but it seemed like the tortillas were separately mixed in so they were a little hard. Womp. My friend also ordered the migas with chorizo, which looked better than with my beef, and he liked it.

Food is decent. Notch below Hugo’s and Ninfas on Navigation. However, can’t beat sitting outside here on a 70 degree day.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this place. I walked over from work one evening to meet a friend. We sat outside which was nice and enjoyed the chips and salsa while chatting. I think our waiter was a little annoyed that we were not ready to order when he came by as getting my water refilled the rest of the night always came with a delay. I went with the chicken enchiladas which were quite good. The fact that you can spend less than $ 15 for dinner per person in the village was nice, but some of the dishes can get into the $ 25 – 30 range. It was a good experience and I’m looking forward to trying some other food here.

My colleague and I were quite disappointed with our lunch experience today. It was a BEAUTIFUL day here in Houston and we both were in the mood for Mexican food. First of all, the hostess was NOT friendly. I don’t think she even smiled when she greeted us. Red flag #1. We asked to sit outside since the weather was so nice. They do have a large patio. I’ll give them that. For starters, I wasn’t impressed with their red salsa. And the guacamole was $ 9! It wasn’t a very large portion either. For $ 9, you’d think you’d get get some fancy guacamole. Nope, it wasn’t. Secondly, while ordering, the waiter was not paying attention to us. He was too focused on the TV with Sports Center on. I’m not kidding. He had to come back to the table to ask my colleague what she ordered. She ordered the Soft Shell Crab Tacos. We BOTH thought they were the LUMPCRABMEAT soft tacos so that was a mistake on our part. The menu clearly stated they were«tempura battered soft shell crab.» They definitely looked VERY unappetizing. My colleague dissected her piece of crab and discovered there was virtually NO crabmeat in them! So basically she got tacos with fried crab SHELL. Um… GROSS. She called other another server over to our table because our server was nowhere to be found — probably watching Sports Center I’m guessing. She explained the situation to the other server and asked if she could get some shrimp tacos instead which were fried as well. So we both reiterated that she wanted them GRILLED not fried. It took probably 30 mins or so for the shrimp tacos. We once again had to ask this same server who wasn’t our server to get them to-go since we had to get back to the office. My co-worker actually did like her grilled shrimp tacos. So they somewhat redeemed themselves. I ordered the Cyclone’s Soft Tacos with roasted chicken. I was intriqued since these soft tacos where served«Enchilada Style.» They weren’t bad. It’s an interesting twist on soft tacos but not for me. The roasted chicken had a lot of dark meat in it. I prefer white meat. I don’t mean to nitpick but that’s just my personal preference. The rice wasn’t very good. Very bland. I did like the refried black beans though. The manager came over to the table to talk to my co-worker to find out why she didn’t like the crab tacos. They didn’t comp the crab tacos and I can understand why. It actually was OUR fault for assuming they were lumpcrab meat tacos. The menu clearly did specify they were fried. So we were wrong. And she did order something else in its place. This location is very nice. It’s a newer restaurant. Parking is challenging in Rice Village. You can find some metered parking at times but during lunchtime, there usually aren’t any spots unless you get lucky. I think there is valet parking available at Cyclone Anaya’s too. But we parked in the parking garage next to Zoe’s Kitchen. It’s only $ 1 – 2. Not bad. We probably won’t be back to this location because our experience wasn’t that great. Food wasn’t impressive. Our service was SLOW. The waiter was friendly but he was MIA for most of the time we were dining there. And the prices are too high for the quality. Bummer.

Food is delicious, patio is amazing, drinks are good. Great Mexican in Rice Village. And every time I come I get the Carne Asada con Tampequeña and it never fails me! I love! That is all.

I hate to admit it but this was my first time to try Cyclone and I’ve been in Houston for 3+ years. We were surprised to find this new addition to rice village area. It was everything I hoped it would be and more. We started with a house«wave» margarita and had our fair share of chips and(amazing) salsa. Our entrée was the brisket quesadillas which was not very adventurous but easy and delicious. A must try when you’re near the village!

I have to disclose that I was originally trying to go to Torchy’s, but that line! I was too hungry so we walked over to Cyclone instead. It was pretty quiet on a Wednesday night, but the bar area was a little more happening. I’d never been to this location; it’s really nice and spacious, lots of tvs everywhere(apparently even in the men’s bathroom, per my husband). Food was good, I love their fajita meat! The nachos are a large and delicious appetizer, more than enough to share. We’ll definitely be back!

I’ve been to a lot of Cyclone Anaya’s in my life, but I have to say that this is the nicest one I’ve been to so far. Maybe it’s the gorgeous patio that looks out onto the courtyard, or the beautiful wood work throughout the restaurant, or the giant window that looks out on to the vine covered mini mansions that line the street. All of the above make this a great place to grab a bite to eat. On top of the ambience, the food is good too. I know their prices are a little steep, but I think the food is better than your average Tex Mex restaurant. I can only imagine sitting outside, sipping a beer on a crisp Fall day and people watching in the courtyard while noshing on some chips and salsa.

Wow. I am so disappointed. I love Cyclone Anaya’s. I base that love on one very basic but wonderfully developed dish. The cyclone soft tacos. I have had this specific entrée at every single Cyclone Anaya’s in Houston. Today I chose to patronize Cyclone’s newest location and try my favorite dish and I was all around disappointed. Cons of this outing — abnormal amounts of mosquitoes in the restaurant. Probably due to the recent storm.(One committed suicide in my salsa) –waiter was not attentive. Checked on us twice through the the night, brought drinks with no coasters or napkins(caused a mess on the table and still didn’t bring them when requested), and took forever to bring any requested item including our food. — THEFOOD! Was cold :(. I have never been disappointed with the food at Cyclones. My favorite dish might be ruined to me forever. Even with the liquid support of a grand gold margarita I couldn’t stomach the cool nature of my plate. Thankfully the manager assured me a hot order. It came back and it clearly has been microwaved due to the now soggy lettuce and tomatoes. Pros of this outing — my grand gold margarita was wonderful(big ups to the bartender) — the manager offered to warm my plate in the microwave. I won’t be coming to this location again. Two stars for the margarita

Cyclone Anayas in Rice Village was a welcome addition as there aren’t too many mexican restaurants in the rice area besides el meson. The complimentary chips and salsa are always fresh, and the salsa definitely carries a kick! You can make reservations online for this restaurant via Open Table. I’ve been here twice, once for brunch and once for dinner. Both times the restaurant wasn’t packed, which surprised me. The food quality is decent. I found the brunch to be better than my dinner. Service is quick so if you’re in a rush in rice village and need a quick decent meal, check out cyclone anayas!
