Went with a big group of about 10 people and had no issues getting a table for a late Sunday lunch. My only complaint with the place was that it was really cold inside. Otherwise, the food was delicious. Whatever sauce they put on their chicken on egg bun sandwich is addicting. All the portions are huge too. Also, the service was pretty fast considering how big of a group we were.

Hi. As a limo driver I was waiting at the Coppa restaurant to pick up my client and 3 black guys from valet parking attacked me and beat and punch my face and they start telling me fucking Arab leave this place and they almost killed me and I just left that place and I called police, since that time I contacted the coppa manager twice but the didn’t respond about that attack and they didn’t do any action and those black guys still working over there, my lawyer is working on their case, but I just wanna let everyone knows what happened and they can decide themselves to go to that place, because as a human I’m not feel safe any more to go to that area, because those people were so aggressive and they almost killed me, now you guys decide you still wanna go or not, thanks

delicious meal, good cold draft beer, we had a party of 8 and the place was packed, our waiter was not attentive and we never got the house bread we asked for. Our food however was delicious and the place is very cool. nice ambience.

Coppa Osteria is a very romantic and beautiful restaurant. It’s great for intimate dinners with family or friends or even both. I went here on the day of my birthday and my server Mike was extremely friendly and hospitable. Below is the list of food that my family and I ordered: Meatballs Al Forno — appetizer — This is my favorite appetizer and I always order this when I visit. Jumbo Shrimp Scampi — appetizer — This was ok but it wasn’t my favorite. Honestly I don’t recommend this because it wasn’t as crispy as it should be. Cheesy Breadsticks — appetizer — This was decent but nothing special. To be honest, it wasn’t super cheesy but it not so bad. Spaghetti Carbonara — This was a very delicious dish! I always order this with a soft sunny side up egg on top. Ravioli — This was also very delicious but it’s too plain. I suggest adding some meatballs and an egg. Beef Tenderloin — My father and boyfriend ordered this dish and loved it! Carnissima — My brother ordered this and he was smiling from ear to ear the entire time. If you’re a meat lover then I definitely recommend this for you. Mike, my waiter was very funny and helpful and his awesome service was what made my entire night special!

Came here for a birthday. Had reservations at 1pm we didn’t eat until about 3pm lol. My main complaint about this place is that the service is soooo slow. No one was even there besides us and about 3 other small tables. No excuse for the slow service. Ordered a bottle of wine and they only had 1 in Stock because we didn’t want to mix wines and will be ordering more we had to choose a different brand. Second bottle of wine we ordered they did not have any in stock. Third wine we tried to order only had 2 in stock. Wait what’s going on here? How do you not have enough wine on hand? When the food finally came it it was good so sort of made up for it. Everything was good and flavorful besides the bolognese. My friend said usually it taste good so maybe had a bad batch? They make their noodles fresh and omg it was delicious! I will be coming back but have to make sure I’m not starving and expect a wait for the food to come. They gave cotton candy with sparklers for the birthday girl which I thought was cute and unique.

I have eaten at Coppa a few times now, and each time has been an equally great experience. The atmosphere is nice and fairly casual. The service is great, and most importantly, the food is too. From simple items, like warm marinated olives and roasted cauliflower, prosciutto, and beet salad, to entrees like gulf coast fish and lamb chops. I have yet to try an item I did not like.

Went there for Sons birthday. Pizza. Totinos is better and that’s from 20 yr old memory The lace is great inside but food is absolutely horrible. Brussels sprouts. Put some effort please Cauliflower average If you pay what we pay we expect a chef. We expect you to eat it yourself. Inedible Good luck. Drinks and the bartender were the only highlight. Should have drank more and maybe enjoyed the bad food

I’ve been here twice and its a nice spot in Kirby area, great for a dinner spot. Theres tables for large parties and small tables for dates. At night the lights are super dim and theres candles lit. They give cotton candy for people who have birthdays which is pretty cute and original. The service is pretty good can’t complain. As for the food, I enjoyed some and some just didn’t cut it for me. –Charcuterie Board(3⁄5) The sausage was similar to the sausage pepper except it was not sautéed and the pâté wasn’t as soft as I anticipated. It was a bit different than the other charcuterie I’ve tried. I honestly wouldn’t get this again. –Spaghetti Carbonara(4⁄5) Great pasta, not over powering seafood like the other pastas. Theres a raw egg that they have on top which they pour this cream over it and mix it for you. –Coppa«ham & eggs»(5⁄5) One of the best pizza’s I’ve ever had, the egg on here are sunny sided with more than enough meat on a thin sliced pizza. –Zucchini Fritte(4⁄5) Similar to fries except they’re these soft zucchinis with a crunchy batter dipped with aioli sauce. Surprisingly tummy pleasing. –Coppa Caesar(4⁄5) Fresh salad with caesar dressing. Simple, but light and delicious! –Linguine(1⁄5) Very bland, and super creamy. –Seafood & Pasta Stew(1⁄5) Too much of the seafood taste and it was bland as well. –Sausage & Peppers(4⁄5) Italian sausage with sautéed bell peppers, great flavor and tender. I’d still come back even though I feel like the food is okay, some dishes are great and some are not for my tasting. The drinks they made for us were pretty strong which is a good thing.

So a few days ago, I saw the«100 Favorite Dishes in Houston 2015,» by the Houston Press and decided I wanted to try all of them… because… why not? This restaurant was the first stop on the list. Their spaghetti carbonara is #7, but unfortunately, since my SO is unable to eat pork, it was made without one of the main ingredients –pancetta. It lacked the saltiness that the bacon brings, and it was just plain bland. I will definitely have to come back and try it on my own. Though it was a Saturday night, we didn’t make reservations, but surprisingly, we didn’t have to wait to get a seat. Take that as you will. We ordered: Whole roasted garlic — Came out with toasted Italian bread and 2 full heads of roasted garlic. The cloves were soft enough to smother on the bread, and it was good, but nothing special. Burrata arancini — Fried balls of Burrata cheese with marinara sauce. It’s basically a fancy version of a mozzarella cheese stick. I was hoping that the cheese would be oozing out because of the added cream, but it kept its form. Bistecca alla florentina — A tasty bone in ribeye that was cooked very nicely. My favorite dish thus far. Spaghetti carbonara — Will have to try again, in correct form. Lemon crushed Yukon gold potatoes — Your basic mashed potato side dish. Caramelized brussels sprouts — Nice flavors, good consistency, and wasn’t bitter, like brussels sprouts tend to get. Affogato — Two scoops of chocolate ice cream with a cup of warm espresso on the side that you pour over the ice cream. This was my second time trying this dessert, and relatively speaking, it wasn’t mind blowing like North Italia Restaurant. Overall, it’s a typical, nice Italian restaurant, but I am not pining to go back.

Live just around the corner so came here for dinner. Pasta Portions are small based on pricing so unless you are not that hungry would not suggest coming here on an empty stomach unless you also order something else like the pizza which is a more reasonable size. Homemade pasta with bolognese — 2⁄5 — delicious sauce and pasta but portion is quite small — only 2 cups worth for $ 20 + dollars! Arancini — 5⁄5 — delicious fried risotto Spaghetti carbonara — 5⁄5 — well made creamy yolk with sauce Feel like there are many other Italian restaurants that are a better value. Although food is good here will likely not be back.

Hmm… so after a pretty good meal at Coppa just a few weeks before I end up back here for yet another work event. This time I just went with the pizza for my meal. A-OK for sure! The problem was that the service was totally lacking this time. Long wait times, drinks not getting refilled, people getting the wrong thing. My food was still fine and I enjoyed the food as much as before though not the service as much. Perhaps it was just an off day, I’m sure I’ll end up here for yet another meal eventually and it might make it back up to a 4.

Nice ambiance, courteous staff, tasty food. Loved the black truffle dip and toasted bread; it was beautifully balanced with exquisite taste, by far my favorite thing to eat there. The pasta dishes were tasteful and well seasoned, perfectly cooked. They were not overly portioned as many Italian restaurants are but it was still good portion.

I absolutely loved this restaurant. We walked in this time. But they do accept reservations. I recommend calling ahead. It’s located in the newer part of Rice Village Arcade downstairs from the Hanover apartment building. On the corner of Morningside and Dustan. There is street, garage, and valet parking available. The waiter told us that the menu changes from time to time. For an appetizer, we had the Fritto Misto. It was almost like tempura. It had shrimp, calamari, herbs, lemon and a few other things. I totally recommend that as an appetizer. Our waiter was great. There were two specials that evening… The Osso Buco and the grouper. We got both. And they both were amazing. The restaurant isn’t cheap, but it’s not so expensive where it’ll break the bank either. If you’re on a date night or with a group of friends. It’s a great place to dine. The wine list is good as well. Plenty of choices.

Got a job? celebrated! Ate all the food? Satisfied! I like the location in Rice Village because it allows for a nice little walk pre and post dinner since parking can be a bit interesting there, especially when you don’t want to valet. It’s a cute little place even though it’s below the new apartment complex. This particular night called for patio seating since the weather was just right. A nice breeze, candlelight in the center of the table, and chatter all around. First order of business were drinks: a beer for the gentleman and a frozen peach Bellini for the lady. Both were really good, the Bellini was perfect for me since I like my drinks SWEET(and frozen). For the appetizers, we ordered cheesy bread sticks with truffle and fritto misto. The former was just alright for me, the bread sticks were just massive and overwhelming. The latter was nice because it had a large collection of different sea creatures along with random fried lemons and such. I only liked the calamari but my boyfriend devoured the plate. Gotta start a new paragraph for the big hitters. Spaghetti carbonara, Conchiglie bolognese, and coppa«ham&eggs» pizza. Hands down the best out of the three was the… PIZZA. The thin crusted slices of just pizza and drool(from me, not the service: D). My only complaint is that there were some parts of the pizza that were just burnt, and that’s a huge no-no. My memory of the spaghetti carbonara made me a little sad when I ate this one because it just didn’t live up to the expectations. I don’t even remember what the other pasta dish tasted like but again, my boyfriend devoured the whole thing. Yum. Too full for desserts. Can’t wait until another celebration so that we can come back and eat some more! P. S. why 4 stars, there were just not enough perfections so I couldn’t bear to give it 5. Perhaps next time!

I didn’t expect to like this place when it first opened. Something about judging a book by its cover. But after an afternoon out and about, we decided to try it out. All the good reviews helped the cause too. On the server’s recommendations we can ordered the pizza and Burrata appetizer. If we were both ravenous, we probably would have ordered a pasta dish instead of the appetizer, because who can pass up homemade pasta? Neither of us had ever had Burrata, and it was delightful. The only comparison I can think of is that it’s like fresh goat cheese without the funk. Emphasis on the fresh, because it was light and creamy. It was also served with a lightly dress arugula salad, tomatoes, and cured meat. I like to eat them all on one fork, my husband made a mini sandwich out of the amazing focaccia bread(which was also delicious). The pizza was amazing! Great thin crust that has the perfect chew. We ordered the ham and egg pizza and it was nice that every slice had a little quail egg on it. Decadent for sure, but getting a runny yolk on each slice was fantastic! Service was also very attentive and on par with a fine dining restaurant. The only downside to this place is the parking. It’s not too expensive in the garage of you can find a spot, and street parking is a headache depending on the time of day. The easiest option is to just pay the valet $ 5 to take care of it.

Was surprised to see such bad reviews for this place. Came for dinner on Wednesday night after a long day at work. There was nice patio seating outside and the inside of the restaurant was almost empty. Opted to sit inside and they put us in the back corner. The place has good ambiance and dim lighting. Service wasn’t the best but it definitely wasn’t bad either. I thought the décor of the place is definitely nice for a date night. As for the food. We split a mushroom salad. Arugula, game of hen mushrooms, truffle. It was definitely simple, something you can make at home, but good flavors. Splitting one salad between 2 people was definitely a good size. Or else it might’ve been a bit too much. I’d recommend sharing! I ordered the fusilli. Loved the fresh pasta that they make daily. So soft and delicious! The flavors of the dish was wonderful. Marinara with meatballs and sausage. Lovely dish. I devoured it. My companion had the gulf shrimp linguine. Very rich but delicious flavors as well. He ate every last bite as well. Would definitely come back here for pasta and to try the pizzas! Dishes are about $ 20-$ 25/dish. Kinda on the expensive side for pastas but it comes with the atmosphere and fresh pastas.

Food, atmosphere and service is impeccable! This was one of my favorite places to grab lunch with a close friend who works at Rice. I came back last week and as I was dropping my car at the valet, one of the attendants was going off on another(there were 3 total) and he was yelling the F-bomb over and over again. I looked up expecting to see a fight, but the guy was just recounting a story, using the word F*** between every single word in his sentence. I wouldn’t mind as much had I been at a bar and didn’t have a kid with me, but it was the middle of the afternoon on a weekday. Didn’t seem appropriate. If you can find parking somewhere on the street and walk from the opposite direction of the valet stand, it’s worth the hike. I’ve never been a fan of chickpeas in the past except for here. Their meatball sandwich is the best, too!

This is one of those places that I see the reviews on the right and I agree with most of them. Pizza and pasta is awesome. This is the only place I will have dinner and then carry around my leftovers for the rest of the evening. The pizza with maybe something else small is plenty for two people to split. The meat pizza is the way to go. The pasta is also great, but I honestly cannot remember the one I got last, again they are all good. It has a nice vibe, but it can get crowded and noisy on a busy Friday or Saturday. The staff is great and if you tell them you are a time crunch they can make things happen. It is kind of a bummer that they do not have a happy hour. We usually end up at Punk’s or Benjy’s and then make our way over or dinner.

This is such a romantic place to bring a date or a loved one. I happen to come and dine here unexpectedly since I was around the rice village area. It was a great choice. As me and my cousin walk in we see these amazing wax candles lit on each table that gave that romantic but modern look to the place. We looked at ourselves and thought this would be so nice for a couple and yes there were plenty of couples there. Lol. On this night we decided to dine outside which was nice and relaxing. The great thing is that they had those tall heaters outside that kept you warm. Once we were seated there were so many great choices of seafood, pasta, pizza and more. I ordered the anti pasta dish that included shrimp, calamari, and other fried items. Even though the food was delicious I found that I will probably not ask for this dish again. It’s too much fried food and I couldn’t finish it. I will have to try out their wine selection next time as well. The staff was very friendly except when it came to our waiter. I am not sure what his problem was that night but he seemed to be a little moody. I was lost as what we could of said to upset him. He barely came to our table and we actually had to ask someone else to get our check. In customer service you need a backbone and regardless of what mood your in you should do your job and smile. Other than that I really enjoyed my experience. I plan on visiting again to dine inside and take more pictures. It’s really beautiful inside.
