C L O S E D and building torn down Unilocal contacted me and asked me for more information«to make this a full fledged review» so here it is… they are no longer serving chicken or anything else there. There are no more daily specials. So if you want Church’s you’ll have to go to the location on OST or the one on Breaswood at Wesleyan.

I wanted a quick cheatmeal so I decided to go to churches. I was in the drive thru line and there was only one car in front of me. We didnt move for several minutes. I thought it would be faster to go inside. I parked my car went inside and it was filthy. Only 3 employees a girl sweeping, a manager and one employee for the drive thru and the walk up register. The place was very dirty, has holes in the ceiling and looked rough. Still I tried to give it a chance. No greeting no «we’ll be with you in a second» nothing. The same person accepting drive through money was also frying okra and chicken… HIGHLYUNSANITARY. .yuck…I was done… I left and went to popeyes lol which was very good as always. Boooo church’s :(whomp!

This place is weird even for a Church’s. When I visit this place it is usually around 5:00pm — 6:00pm on weekdays. First, they employ this cashier that will reluctantly, I say reluctantly because she will never give you a greeting, take your order and when your finished she will not give you a total or even say thank you. While you are sitting in your car waiting for any acknowledgement of your order from her…1 minute total silence. When you finally say, «hello»…Then might say«rudely» to come around but still with no total. Secondly, when you get to the order window she will tell you that it will be 8 to 15 minutes so they can cook some chicken. This happens every time! She usually will have a male cook or server standing in the window with her just in case any of the customers get irate with her for not telling them sooner that they needed to cook more. Finally, it is always a guarantee that when the chicken is finally cooked she will get your order«wrong»! It never fails! When you bring the mistake to her attention she gets upset as if you are the one at fault. Wow! *****Tip Make sure when she gives you your receipt that she gives you a long piece. She likes to give short pieces so you don’t get the piece with the 1 – 800 number on it. Thats so, she thinks, you won’t report to corporate. That is if she gives you a receipt. Please make sure she gives you one.

Why do I still go to Church’s Chicken? TWOPIECETUESDAYS. A broke person like myself can’t resist a deal of 2 pieces of chicken for 99 cents. I order 2 of the specials along with 2 bisquits for 1 dollar, and you have a feast for ~$ 3.25. The service is terrible here, but what do you really expect? The manager tries her best but her helpers are awful.

I know, I know, who is even surprised by this rating aside from me? I have these weak moments where I crave Church’s but I know never to visit this one to satisfy those cravings again. This review was rather verklempt at first because I was soaked after running through the Church’s parking lot, only to find no biscuit in my combo. It works better as a list: 1) They’re always out of everything that’s tasty. I REALLY wanted the jalapeño cheese bombers but they were out, of course. 2) They don’t sell the corn nuggets at this location anymore. I freakin’ skipped a trip to Mama’s Oven to get those nuggets. 3) They forgot the biscuit in the combo. The biscuit is at least half the joy of eating at Church’s Chicken. I feel like they stop listening halfway through your order here. 4) The corn on the cob was atrociously bad. They serve it in these little plastic baggies that permeates the corn with this horrible chemical odor. I don’t come to Church’s with any standards nor do I want to think about things too hard when I’m craving Church’s. I want it to deliver the way only fast food can and this location doesn’t, at all. Church’s, it’s been real.

Church’s is ok. The only thing I like about them is their fried okra. They have spicy chicken finally, but it’s still not Popeyes and definitely not FRENCHY’S(only the Scott street location). The only reason I go is to avoid Popeye’s traffic. Especially on a Tuesday. The people they hire however seem to have a hearing or comprehension problem… I seem to always have trouble with my orders no matter how simple they are.
