Ok. So I’m going to go easy of them because well I was a guest in Texas. Heard this place was good and well it wasn’t bad at all, except I just went in the off season for crawfish. I’m definitely going back when I visit family again in the in season for crawfish so i can get the best of both worlds. The only thing was it was a little dirty for me and flies were flying around when eating.

Awesome! I’ve had crawfish at so many other places and this place is by far the best in my opinion. The waitstaff are all very friendly and helpful. They come by often to check on you and to clear your table of trash and shells. The Cajun crawfish are the bomb! The price is very reasonable for this time of the season. I’ve tried everything from crawfish to the Turkey necks, grilled fish and shrimp and hot wings! I love it. The location is great too… almost at the end of China town tucked in a corner! Love it!

I’m not sure why this place doesn’t have better reviews… but it’s definitely my go-to place for crawfish/crawfish fried rice if I don’t want all the hustle and bustle(and hours of waiting) at boiling crab. Crawfish: Two different sauces and ironically enough, «garlic flavor» is the more spicy one as opposed to «cajun flavor». Both pretty good and I’d have to tip my hat off to the garlic flavor. $ 7.99 per pound Corn: Standard pieces of corn @$ 0.75 each Crawfish Fried Rice: There’s something about this fried rice that makes me wanting to come back for more. There’s more than enough to share and it always comes out fresh and steaming hot. I haven’t had any run-ins with bad service the few times I’ve been here, but I would definitely come and visit again!

For years, this has been my go-to stop for crawfish and I’ve never had too many complaints about it. With all the up-and-coming crawfish joints that have been springing up all over Houston, however, Cajun Corner II has started to fall into the middle of the pack for me. Now that I think about it, service here has always been bad. It’s a «seat yourself» place, so I always found it strange and inefficient that they implement a «waiter/waitress» system. If they’re going with the«seat yourself» and«pay at the counter» thing, wouldn’t it be easier and more consistent to have a «order at the counter» and«pick up your food» system? *input thoughtful pause here* Anyway, the restaurant is pretty big compared to other crawfish joints and there are usually only 2 – 3 waiters working, so slow service would make sense. The thing is, they’re never busy. And… it’s still slow. Word of advice, make sure you already know what to order BEFORE the waiter greets you — chances are, you’ll never see them again. They offer quite a variety of food selections here, though I’ve only tried their crawfish and seafood fried rice. Fried rice always takes FOREVER; make sure that’s the first thing you order if you want it. As for crawfish, they offer two flavors: garlic and cajun-spice, though honestly, I can never tell the difference. In comparison to other joints, Cajun Corner’s crawfish lacks flavor and kick, but it’s not terrible — I mean, there IS some flavor there and it does get pretty spicy after a few pounds. I swear that I can remember a time when corn and potatoes came with the crawfish, but now you’re charged for it. Actually, now that I think about it, this place even charges for limes and butter sauce now. What gives? The restaurant itself isn’t anything spectacular. Judging by the run-down bar abandoned on one side of the room and a dusty«ca phe» menu display above it, I think this place used to be a Vietnamese café. Now it’s donned with fish nets, plastic fishes, and neon lights. Even though I’m more drawn to the newer crawfish places, I’ll still stop by here every once and awhile. One thing this place DOES have over its competitors is that it’s never packed. And the food isn’t terrible either. So, if anything, Cajun Corner II makes for a good«Plan B.»

This isn’t my go to place, but it sure beats the flavorless stuff you get in the loop. It use to rank higher but the service has dropped a lot and they are charging for everything from lemons to butter. Luckily I just order their crawfish in their ‘so-called’ spicy version and am happy with it none the less. Just went last weekend(March 12) and the sizes were decent. A good mix of big and small but decent overall. more like a 3.5 than a 3 but surely not a 4

The short version: We were seated after a wait(though noticed some walkins just grabbed an empty table cutting the line and were served). Waited… flagged down two waiters who both said«one minute» and never returned. Walked up to counter to ask for service or at least menus. Menus given to another table who sat down 10 min after us. Flagged down another server who had to put down a pitcher and run some errands before returning(at least he did). Took our order. Literally seconds later, we were told that crawfish was out. Worse 30 minutes in a restaurant ever.

This place used to be my favorite place to eat crawfish few years ago, but not anymore. We recently went there to have some off season crawfish. The crawfishes were small, which can be understood. However, the flavor was killing us… pretty salty. The waitress said cuz they were overcooked. She was really nice and honest, but I would hope she should not say so to the customers. Good restaurant don’t over-cooked or under-cooked the food. If so, those should not be served. I went to their place many time during off season. One thing I noticed that they barely have any customers, just us and may be 1 customer for the whole time. Yep, they serve crawfish, but they do serve more stuffs from the menu… but where were the customers?

This place was the first time I have ever had crawfish. Loved their thick sauce and mayo/ketchup sauce! Too bad I live in CA now, but thank goodness the crawfish trend is booming in San Jose.

My friends and I came to visit this venue awhile back by mistake. We were looking for another place with crawfish but ended up here. Luckily it wasn’t that big of a mistake because the crawfish was pretty good. I had a few pounds($ 6/lb when we went) of the garlic flavored crawfish and though it was really flavorful and juicy, it was a bit overcooked. I also had some gumbo to supplement the meal but the seafood gumbo turned out to be less than spectacular. In fact, it was bad… I feel like the gumbo was burned a bit and there was this fishy taste to it that wasn’t pleasant at all. I would recommend this place if you’re simply craving crawfish, especially if you like a spicy garlic flavor to your crawfish! Cheers

I went there last night, with a party of 15 or so. the service was pretty good, I must say. I saw a sign that boasted«Louisiana Fresh Crawfish» — and while it didn’t taste like lousiana boiled, it had a unique but close flavor. The crawfish was actually rather juicy, when sucking the heads. ahh just the thought that from last night makes me pine for more. We also had the seafood fried rice to go along with our 30 lbs of crawfish. which was a perfect complement! who woulda thought fried rice and mudbugs? And since it’s early pre-season, it should be understood, that the size of crawfish varied, from mostly small to perfect, in size.

I’ve had the crawfish here a few times and their sauce is spicy yet simple. If I am not in the mood for the really messy/garlic-y sauce, then I would go here. The crawfish here usually run medium or smaller, but for the most part it tastes good. There was a time when I went that I though the batch didn’t taste fresh, but that was towards the end of the crawfish season. I’ve ordered ‘to go’ several times and they do give you plenty of limes and dipping spices. I’ve tried their cua rang me(blue crab with tamarind) and remembered it had a very good flavor.

Crawfish here is always small(owner too greedy to get the jumbo), even thou the price is still high. Crawfish here is salty and flavourless, just like thrown a bunch of crawfish in boil water and add some orange and crawfish powder and then frozen garlic chop. I hate to give it a 2, it no bad, thou. Compare to Crawfish in Hong Kong Market, this one a lil better,(crawfish in Hong kong bigger, sometimes) They have good seafood plate and great appetize, like fried mushroom is good or sweet potatoes. the wait time is long, but better than Jolynn’s crawish, here have enough servers. it near my house but I doubt about comin back for crawfish, mayb something else. Small parking! Very pissed off!

Wonderfully seasoned crawfish… but you gotta like garlic and spice, otherwise just got to Pappadeauxs and get the standard flavored crawfish. This is a true hole in the wall kinda place. I went here for the first time about 2 weeks ago and was impressed with the food. In addition to crawfish, they also have crab legs, and boiled shrimp. Service is pretty quick and one advantage to those in a large party… they will actually split the check for you. I say give this place a try!

RIPOFF! They use frozen crawfish now! To charge Market Price for frozen crawfish is pretty much false advertisement. They charged us $ 5.99 per pound for garlic, spicy hot and $ 4.99 per pound for regular. It cost them $ 0.39 per pound for frozen crawfish from China! I asked to try a single crawfish before hand but the waitress told me they don’t do that. I have never heard of an establishment that doesn’t allow customers to try their food. This is just bad practice. I can taste frozen crawfish because of the taste of bandaid and how the meat comes off the shell. They masked it good with their boil mix that almost fooled me until I can taste the bandaid taste. I love eating the inside of fresh crawfish head and frozen crawfish inside are just nasty. A friend described the bandaid taste is from freezer burned meat. The last time I was here was like 5 years ago. I just don’t eat as much crawfish anymore. I can’t believe that this placed has lowered their standard to the point that they are using frozen crawfish now. Completely tacky…

This is a hole in the wall type of place. I come here to satisfy my craving of crawfish. Their crawfish and the way they season it is perfect. You can either order it the traditional spicy flavor or you can order the garlic flavor which is also very spicy but with a strong hint of garlic, which I love. Today I had their seafood platter sampler. It came with two large shrimp, half a pound of crawfish, one good sized crab, crab legs, one potato and one corn. Everything was well seasoned with a nice Cajun kick of flavor. I had a Corona(make that three) to somewhat soothe the spiciness since it can get out of hand… but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I tried the crawfish at Ragin Cajun and it didn’t compare on the flavor or spiciness level to Cajun Corner. If you are the type that can’t handle very spicy, this may not be the place for you. They get pretty busy, most of their customers tend to be primarily Asian and sometimes it can be hard to understand some of the waiters. Service can also be quite slow, but the food is usually out quick after ordering. It’s a bit of a drive for me to come here, but it’s worth it. I don’t suggest coming here with a date, if you do, bring loads of gum for after your meal, you’re going to need it.

Fantastic food at a fantastic price. Been here twice now and the $ 5 shrimp po-boy is excellent(and huge). The bread is fresh/crisp and the shrimp batter has great flavor. I’ve also had the ettouffee and it was different from most I’ve tasted; seems to be based on a chicken stock not a heavy buttery roux. My wife liked it and ordered it the next time we went. Mom had the Gumbo, which looked like it was loaded w/seafood but I didn’t have room to try it. The hush puppies are really good. I didn’t like the jalapeño poppers but wife did. On a sidenote: I grew up near here and this place embodied the melting pot that is Alief(ie. this cajun restaurant seems to be owned by a vietnamese family, w/asian/indian/hispanic/african-american clientele). Houston has a ton of restaurants — most of them mediocre at best. This was a place we actually liked enough to go back to. Place was very clean both times we went too and had a couple of flat screens so i didn’t miss the sunday night football game. Oh yeah — they also have beignets — want to try those eventually.
