Excellent food, desserts & services. We dine often in Houston’s chinatown for over 30 years. Glad we decided to try a new place today. I was pleasantly surprised with the inside atmosphere & the delicious food. The food tasted very authentic & taste like my mom’s kitchen. We enjoyed my favorite bamboo duck soup & salad(Bun Mang Vit), pork chop with rice & egg(com suon trung) and spring rolls(goi coun) with appetizer. We finished our meal trying their flan which was good but could be softer, the caramel & coffee flavor was a nice blend & the ice addition made an ordinary dessert with a unique twist in taste.

I am a regular here. Anytime we can’t decide what to eat in Bellaire, we ended up coming here. A pretty nice Vietnamese restaurant compares to others in the same area and the price is right. We always get the same things: snail salad(goi oc), duck salad(goi vit), and rock and roll beef dish. We can’t go wrong with those 3 dishes, Very consistent on the taste in these dishes. We also sometimes order rice with pork chop(com suon) and their signature duck bamboo noodle soup(bun mang vit). — the pork chop rice is pretty good. Their signature dish is just ok. It’s a surprise for me when all their other dishes tastes better than their signature dish, the duck bamboo noodle soup. It’s not bad, but not amazing. It comes in a decent size noodle soup bowl and a small size salad.

Came here from a recommendation and this place is in fact super delicious. My GF wanted to come here because of the duck soup that she loved. I got the Vietnamese noodle dish that comes with vegetables, eggroll, pork, and a fish sauce that you pour on top. It was very good. We both left happy and would come back again if we lived here. The atmosphere is very clean and nice also. If you are looking for good Vietnamese food, then try this place, you will like it.

We picked up a Togo order from this place and came home highly disappointed. For 22 dollars you are supposed to get half a duck with a salad. We opened the box to find that there were only about 10’pieces of duck. We called them to let them know that it must have been a mixed up, instead of making things right and giving us more duck when we brought it back they simply gave us the money without an apology or anything. Definitely not worth the money.

I love this place! I love the food. Everything on the menu is on point and tastes so good. Perfectly seasoned. Love the owners. Very friendly and funny. I come almost every week. Place is new and larger. Very clean. Price is reasonable. They do accept credit cards now. Yay!

Ordered bun mang vit here. They gave you a big portion even though I ordered a small. The duck meat was fresh and it’s pretty good. Nice décor inside. When I came it was pretty empty. It’s located in the same plaza as Le Duc. If I’m in the mood for bun mang vit then I’ll be sure to come back. 15 dollars minimum on cards.

Not sure why this restaurant only has 10 reviews. I didn’t expect much when I came here but my friend wanted to come here to eat real Vietnamese food. It’s located in the corner of the little area that it’s in and it looks really old and unappealing from the outside. Once I stepped in though, woah! It was very clean and looked very nice and kind of modern compared to other Asian restaurants on Bellaire. I got the com chien bo luc lác which is shaking beef on fried rice. It was delicious. Like how. The best bo luc lác I’ve ever had in my lifffeeee. Maybe it was with the help of the fried rice. It was so yummy and perfect seasoned even though it’s only eggs and rice! So yummy. Service is also fast and efficient.

Bun Mang Vit Thanh Da has become THE place to visit when I’m in Houston. On the Southwest side, Bellaire Blvd is where the action is for everything Asian; rice dishes, noodle soups, desserts, foot massages, BBQ roast pork/duck, medical treatments, nail spas, cosmetics, you name it. As you can imagine, there’s stiff competition, «dog-eat-dog», and believe me these building owners/lessors do not believe in non-compete clauses that prevent two similar businesses from opening next to each other. It truly is difficult to know which ones to go to, particularly when Unilocal lists them all with similar ratings. I digress. Back to the food, Ken. Right. Their specialty, Bun Mang Vit, is a staple of Vietnamese cuisine that includes fresh, bamboo shoots carefully selected/imported for its undeniable aroma. A shredded cabbage salad topped with chopped duck, alongside the mandatory ginger fish sauce for a dip, is brought out at the same time. In case you do not favor duck, they also offer a chicken alternative. The noodle soup broth has a flavorful depth, without the need to add any condiments, is true to tradition. I highly recommend this. When not opting for soup, I defer to my default, the Bo Luc Lac, a.K.a. Shaken Beef with fried rice. The succulent chucks of beef filet and onions never miss a beat, never overcooked and juicy. The fried rice works well too, not dry and it appears they use fresh rice instead of «leftover» steamed rice. To finish it all off, their drinks are soooo good. The excellent pennywort drink is sweetened with mung bean and their salted preserved lemon drink thirstquenchingly satisfying. What a fabulous finish. Permanent bookmark.

I actually hate Bun Mang Vit(bamboo and duck noodle), so why come to a place named that? Well because, I was told they actually have good rice dishes. Weird, but sure, I’ll take the recommendation. I got the Com chien bo luc lac(shaking beef fried rice), pretty darn good. The roasted garlic and sauteed onions were licked clean along with the beef of course. But my friend cut me a piece of their pork chop and damn this thing is off the hook. It’s deep fried instead of grilled, which is different than most vietnamese rice places. Add the fried egg and you won’t be disappointed.

Foods are great. Service, NO. If you’re going to a Vietnamese place, you can forget about good customer service. Nobody at the door greet you. Went to see the cashier to get seated almost every time.

He interior of this restaurant is so nice and inviting. I love the big booths. It makes the dining experience more intimate. As for their food, I tried their main specialty dish: mien with mang and vit(bamboo and duck). I got the $ 10 option that comes with a side of goi vit(cabbage salad with duck). The bowl of noodles and the side dish is so big, it is enough to feed two people! It also some of the best mien I’ve had in Houston too. I highly recommend this place to others.

This is my me and my mom’s favorite restaurant to eat in! My mother is awfully picky I tell you. Every time we dine somewhere she always comments on how she can cook better than whatever dish we’re eating. However, she does not make a sound whenever we dine here. She loves it! Finally a restaurant where we can both enjoy :) Anyway, we ordered the periwinkle salad to share and two large bowls of bun vit. Oh my goodness everything was so delicious. The broth, bamboo, and noodles it self was in one bowl; the duck was in a type of salad on the side so it does not get soggy. I definitely recommend the periwinkle salad. Everything was super fresh and definitely tasted like my mommas home cooking. Must try place for the picky Vietnamese mom in your life!

First time coming here since they moved from the old place. One of my co-worker told us that it’s no longer good as the old place. Rmwell, another co-worker and I were willing to give this place another try. The duck salad with vermicelli did not disappoint us. It was still as good… The place is much larger and better decorated… service still the same, average..

This place relocated from their cook address. Tastes the same to me. Their place is a lot bigger than the other location and it still smells the same to me, which is their duck noodle soup with bamboo shoots. If you’re not a fan of bamboo shoots, you’re not going to like the smell. Their pork chop over rice is the best dish on the menu for me. They have these egg rolls that looked pretty pathetic when it came out to my table. They’re quite stingy on the fish sauce. Imagine a tea cup size bowl and they serve only ¼ of it as the fish sauce… pathetic right?!? Any way, their shaking beef isn’t bad. It’s a bit big in cut sizes. Their servers are mandatory to ask you to order some extras/add-ons to your dishes. So don’t fall for it!

Let me just explain how ecstatic I am that they did not close and just moved to a bigger and better location! The place is twice as big than the other place, no doubt. Many tables and booths. The booths can seat up to at least 6 people, 8 if squished, so no more waiting in lines on busy days. The décor is also very Vietnamese modern and inviting. There is a very pungent duck smell when I walked in, but I mean it is a Bun Mang Vit place so it’s forgivable. The food is still spectacular as before! Nothing has changed regarding the food. The Com Chien Bo Luc Lac is able to feed two people because the portions are huge. Delicious as always. Oh! And it comes with soup now! Woohoo! The Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio is also appetizing but not as good as they used ro make it years ago. Not bad though.
