A little apprehensive at first, my wife and was greeted with a smile was told the buffet will be ready in a minute, drinks came right away, buffet ready the same, food hot fresh, down home scratch cooking, thank you we will be back and tell others.

We had heard that this was a really good place in town and went today for breakfast. While we gave it a 3, doubtful we will go back for breakfast again. Food was good, but not great. Biscuits were served cold and while homemade, they were small. Should have served 2 and served hot. The biggest problem was service. Sympathy for the 1 and only server. She tried, but just could not keep up. Customers(including us) had to get up and get the coffee pot for refills. Asked for water 3 times, never got it. No jelly on the table, had to ask. No butter on the table, had to ask. Maybe being New Year’s Day, they did not anticipate being busy? Too many other really good breakfast places in Hot Springs that will continue to get our biz. We will go back and try lunch though.

Meh. had better, under staffed and slow service if it is busy. Food was ok and a step above Dixie café but not much of a step.

I’ve been here 4 – 5 times. Twice for breakfast and rest for lunch I keep bringing people here and so far everyone loved the food. HOMEMADE Food, not a lot of places to get homemade food around here. SERVICE varied at each visit. Twice quick service but the place wasn’t busy. Other two times it was so a long wait even just for menus or a drink. So SERVICE is what they need to work on, getting the staff organized will help a lot… I don’t think they have assigned tables because I’ve had that happen where more one would try to take my order. Service 2.5 Stars Try to go at an off time and service will be better. FOOD — 4STARS The chicken fried steak(in pic) is tender and hand breaded and fork tender. I’ve gotten it 3 of the 4 times I’ve been here. The southern potatoes(in pic) are really good as well. Fried corn on cob was awesome, that is one ear I love to nibble :) Got a burger with avocado that was good too. My food experiences here have all been really good. DESSERT– 6STARS… HOMEMADE Desserts. the peanut butter pie is soooo smooth and creamy and delicious… GETTHEPIE, if you get nothing else GETTHEPIE. so I like the pie… yep I’m «fluffy» for a reason… ETC. Soda is in a can no fountain drinks, Tea is usually good, but we know I’m persnickety about my tea. Ice it down people or it becomes Blinky. We are in the south and all food places should have great sweet tea… so that my opinion and I hope you will give this place a try… did I mention the pie.

This was my second visit to Debra’s, but my first visit to their new location on Central Avenue(where Nom-Nom’s used to reside). It will most likely be my last visit as well. When our small party of three arrived, it was a full dining room, with the exception of one 4-top table that just needed clearing. We were the only ones waiting to be seated, and it took 5 minutes for them to acknowledge us at all. After another 5 minutes a nice family at the large 10-top table in the front of the restaurant said we could sit at their table, as it was just the 4 of them. Once we were seated, it took almost 20 minutes to receive our coffee and take our food orders. Right after ordering we were told there were no more biscuits, so we had to all change our orders. I opted with a backup plan of the eggs benedict, hash browns, and a side of bacon. Our food arrived over 59 minutes later. Not once did a server refill our drinks, another patron was getting the coffee pot and doing it! We noticed other people take their dirty dishes to the counter so someone would take them, get up and ask for condiments, etc. The food was not worth the wait at all. My hash browns were cold on the inside, and the top of my eggs benedict had so much paprika covering it, you couldn’t see the hollandaise sauce, which there was hardly any of and it tasted off. I hope after some time has passed, their new location will have some better reviews and I may try again.
